RDRAM sucks nuts

RDRAM is damn expensive. Id pass on a RAM upgrade. Even with Doom III, which is the game with the most need for resources, they tested memory and found an increase in FPS of less than 1 FPS with an increase from 512 MB to 1024 MB in the same rig. Really right now the only time you need more than 512 MB is if you are working with memory intensive programs. Ie CAD, applying filters on huge Photoshop files, 3D Rendering. Those sorts of programs really have limitless memory requirements. The biggest boost for you would come from a Video Card upgrade. You can pick up a really sweet card for $200 right now and have about as fast a rig as you need. And since the Doom 3 or HL 3 engines will soon be the next engine of choice for development, you will be safe for a while I should think.

I played the Demo of Call of Duty and I really liked it. I am going to pick it up next time I have disposable income.

Diapers? Saran Wrap? Forget that. Too much money. Just do as Tim Allen used to say, "...Spackle that fucker shut". Ouch.
