| BGGHL

K, so I think that perhaps a better idea, and one that helps EVERYONE (including those not involved with the fantasy hockey league) is for Johnny, Enron and R Dub to switch leagues, or at least also join up with this league:

This is the board game geek league I am 'running' as well. Same rules, but no has drafted yet, and there are already 7 teams. That way when you 3 guys join, there will be 10 teams, which will roxx0rz!

I don't know any of these people, all I know is that they joined from BGG so they like board games, so MAYBE a little less "Eating a Dick" talk, or at least we need to move that to the blog...

Anyway, I think it will be a better experience, really, to join up with that league and have some more thinned out rosters. More balanced.

SUCK IT!

PS I guess the Up Front rules and War of the Ring have run off to start a new life somewhere in Idaho. Good for them that they found true love, and bad for me that they hate me so much I drove them away!

| After consideration I have decided that I like the part where Batman punches the Joker into the applesauce

I was at the register today in the supermarket and the guy in front of me was wearing a light grey suit, carrying a faded, black, over-the-shoulder briefcase, and had his greying hair cut so that it was approx. two inches away from his ears in every direction. WTF? I kept trying not to stare, but really the man had no sideburns, and literally two inches of skin was showing above his ears. I kept thinking of the guy in the Supercuts commercial - talking about "moats" around his ears. These were moats like the English channel is a moat! GEEZ. Also there was a strange odour about the man - for some reason I kept thinking of Cthulhu. Sometimes I love San Francisco.

In other news - (much belated I know)
Jon - I have your Hordes book
Eric - I gave you the Upfront rules back a long time ago - sorry that I don't have them now to give to you. I hope you find them. Are you still keen to play that game? I will continue to try to get a set if you are.

Rudy - dont' lose your soul to your job! I can't even imagine being a crime-scene photographer - bleagh.
Haven't had a chance to look at my team yet, but I'd be down for a re-roll. In my experience, if the league is heavy with one particular position, it tends to get difficult to balance. So, yeah. It actually doesn't matter, 'cause Redondo Anger is going to smack the crap out of everyone anyway.
Bummer about the bar girl jael. Wait, I thought over there, "bar girls" were like the prosties at those hooker bars they have near the army bases!? Did you get turned down by a prostitute man!???! TAKE THAT! I'm going into Phoenix Wright overdose, been playing tons of the first game. On 4th outta 5 cases. Good times.

I applied to get a transfer to the SID unit at work. Scientific Investigation Division (so like CSI basically.) I would still be a fuckin clerk, but might be more interesting water-cooler talk. Here's a cool clip from a documentary about real-life CSI types: Ewww BLOOD! Little gross - I think if I did a job like this (or talkin to some crime scene photogs, THOSE dudes are like "urghhh") I'd go nuts.

| Bar Gurls

Went to a Bar to pick up a chick, She was pretty hot, but she never called me back. owell

Hey, so i'd be down to reroll. My teams pretty good overall, but will probably be rolling in Redondo Angers bitch slaps. Anyways, I wanted to set the predraft choices now that i know what PIM and +- does.

I am cool as a cucumber.
oh dont get mad eric, i just didnt want art to think he killed it when in fact, JAEL was postin up a storm.

| Ah, Balls

Well, it looks like I was tinkering around with the league before I decided on going with the basic setup, and apparently when I was considering having a 20 player roster, I left the option for 6 defensemen, so as it stands, there will be 6 forward, and 6 defensemen....

I kinda wanna kill it and start over, but I have a feeling getting anyone to join another time will just fall flat....

6 Dmen is kinda lame when there are only 6 forwards! Thoughts?

| PIM

PIM's in this particular league are a good thing. As far as the NHL goes, it of course depends on the type of player, the situation, the penalty, etc. There are bad penalties, and good penalties, etc., but that is outside the scope of the super simple Action Hockey League! All you need to know is the more the better!

+/- certainly has it's proponents and detractors. Bad players on good teams will have a better rating than a good player on a bad team, simply due to the amount of goals against and for that occurs on the different teams. As a rule of thumb however, someone with a high rating, TENDS to be a more solid player all around. Yes, it is a little random, but it is a nice option for fantasy scoring because it forces a bit of a balanced roster.

Then again when there are only 4 teams, the rosters are already pretty outta whack as it stands, but whatevs, its all good clean fun!

| Retardo blog

It seems like I posted twice, but I did, because the first time it didn't save, and then I retyped the post not remembering everything i said so, it makes it seem that I'm senile! I'm not! I tell you!

now i'm trying to delete one and it won't let me.

So some1 kindly enough answer my question on the hockey stuff. Gratz. ok?

| Explain Hockey

PIM = is this higher the better or lower? I was thinking the higher because you want guys that can break legs, gouge eyes, smash faces, but then it can easily go the other way cuz the more penalty minutes, the less you play, more power plays etc. some1 give me the lows dowz

+/- this stat seems kinda random to me. is this the random factor?

Well goodluck with it Art! I wonder, did you have to go through a gnarly background check to work for the casino? I went through a gnarly (gnews) one for LAPD, so I assume if youre around bookoo money and security, its similar. I watch that show Vegas sometimes and I seen them shitty Ocean's movies, so I think I have a good idea what you're jobs gonna be like. ;)

Movies:
Saw KNocked Up - fuckin good! A *couple* of times, I wasn't into the main guys adlibbing (seemed like adlibbing) but otherwise, it was really funny and just an awesome flick. I really should see that show Freaks N Geeks since I'm liking this dudes movies.

ALSO saw 3 other fine films. The Condemmed which is like a wrestler movie staring Steve Austin. It was actually alright. Stupid action movie, but pacing and shit was good and I never really got bored watching it. Basic "prisoners dropped on island to fight to the death" but was pretty entertaining.

Fracture: It was okay also. Silence of the Lambs dude playing same kinda character again, but it was still a watchable thriller. Ending was POOP though, but whatever.

Last fucking champ of a movie was Perfect Strangers. First of all, had nothing to do with the TV show, so that was bullshit. Secondly, you get 3 famous "good" actors, Bruce Willis, Halley Barry, and Giovani Ribisi (he's a fuckin Scientologist btw) and it don't help one bit. DUMBEST MOVIE EVER. I'm going to spoil it for you all. H.B.'s friend gets killed and signs point to Bruce Willis who's a famous fashion designer (???). Giovanni helps her crack the case, BUT WAIT, giovanni is scary obsessed with Halley Barry. Hmm... But the evidence points to Bruce Willis and he goes to jail. BUT THEN, out of the blue, Giovanni confronts Halle Barry and it turns out SHE killed her friend and framed that dude cuz of some STUPID ........

it's so not even worth going on. It's just a really fucking horrible movie. With like, twist twist twist at the end. None of it makes sense. Garbage. And I can't spell any of these people's names, so it's frustrating to write.

PLAYED: Enemy Territory: Quake Wars Demo. Not too good. Barely a graphic upgrade from the Wolvenstein precursor, and after playing Half-Life 2's game engine with its awesome physics etc, this shit felt too cheesy. Then just d/l'd Fortress Forever, some hyped up Teamfortress mod for hl2 (b4 tf2 comes out offical from valve) and that shit is kinda lame too. Meh... I don't know what I want from a shooter..)

Oh, also did the Bioshock demo last night. Actually ran good on my computer. Put gfx to medium tho, high quality was a little choppy. Medium still looked good. BUT, I dunno, I wasn't into the cramped, dark, claustrophobic feel of it. SO, I friggin cheated myself and went on a site and read the whole plot and then read all the audio-logs you find in the game. Now it is officially spoiled for life for me! :) It's ok. Seems like a neat idear tho.
