My Daily Blog

So, fun day! Jon and Denis and I drove to Brookblurst, I spent a wee bit, then ate at El Pollo Choke-o, then dropped Jon off, then Denis and I went to Allied Trains. There I dropped $152.00 on N scale terranius maximus, then came home and made one of the buildings, then made it destroyed, added some floors, painted it, and now it looks kewl and I can't wait to finish the 6 other buildings I got and play with them! Hooray! Hope Jael and Enron had fun at their game club and hope everyone else had fun doing whatever they do on saturday nights!!!

Silly blog, but at least I blogged!!!!
Sorry Elrock..

I got engrossed in "The World at War" series and have been watching that and cleaning. The series has also been motivating me to go onto MOHAA. Tut de Sweete. Johnny I am amped to get some PBI rolling. ANyway I got your invite Elrick. Pretty damn cool, I am looking forward to it. Hey is okay if I bring Pat along. I bet he could spice up the wedding. Rule! Maybe he would actually drop you from the balcony this time, as a wedding gift.

Ahhh yes, let the never ending fight to push back the battle of the Bulge begin. Elrock, the Americans defeated the bulge, you can to. Then again the Germans man out of Gas and Supplies. SO I guess the only way you can win is to stop eating and farting. You lose. Game over man, game over. How goes the BB reconstruction effort?

I have decided that woman have too many articles of clothing. Rock on Chicago

BTW...

Yeah, um, remember my problem with the Get Your War on Shirt being too small as an XL? Well, it's even smaller now, so I know that the shirt has not shrunk, and I have not been working out, so it must be the other thing that is related to not working out.....

D'oh.

Where is everybody?

Man. If you had to pass up a league night to prepare for an interview, this must be a promising interview! Is it with a different company? Are you looking to finally jump ship and start fresh somewhere else or is this with that heinous boss of yours? Either way, to miss Blood Bowels it must be HUGE!!!

BTW: Where are all our bloggers? Rael has been eerily silent, Enron is home alone and yet still can't find the time to blog (fucker), Enoto and Motorbyke, well, they nevar blog anyway....

Big Games Tonight, my players are warming up in the locker room

My first official league game begins tonight with my team of SMASH em ORCLAND RAMS. I haven't got my ogre in the mail yet nor my team of lizard men, but the orcs will have to do. Von Hess, you will hear about my Triumph tonight!!! The Suppositories that I will be shoving into these guys will be in the form of 6 inch shafts!!! YAR!!!

Jael

**update actually tonights action cancelled:. tomorrow I have an interview I have to prepare for. I just have to try at least. Anyways, I haven't gotten my guys from mail order catalogue yet.
Blood Bowel Jael

Okay, so I have one human test figure painted, and it's okay, the rest will follow... I will rise to the top again!!!!!

But more importantly, how did the league go? Did you get mashed into the granite again? Or did you hand some poncey elf team their asses on a platter? What's the scoop!!! Also, what are the league rules? I'm thinking of starting one up at Nerd Planet if I can drum up enough interest, I know at least Denis and I will play, so that makes 2, which is more than just one.....

Timing is everything

Since this has to meet june5th deadline, I suggest going with written material. Out of everything listed, I think the best would probably one of jon's longer unpublished stories, a compilation of the blog... (if we can't sell it at least we can distribute it among ourselves).

No Soup for You!

Well, apparently my response not 2 minutes after I recieved the email was not quick enough to get a free book from Cafepress, seems suspicious, but whatever. So, I'm SURE all of you were thinking as hard as I was about this, you can now relax. Or at least you can now think clearly about next time we are "up for the beta test". I like the Action Team Archive for three reasons: 1) It's my idea, 2) No one else has come up with anything and I don't think Jon would be willing (though I wish he were) to publish his stories this way, 3) It's actually fun to read the past blogs! Also, since we have a 600 page limit, we could always do a combination of everything!

Now it's your turn to blog something.

Cafepress Books in Beta

I just got an email about the Cafepress books beta version, and they are offering a free book to the first 100 responses, obvisously I responded and hopefully we will be in that first 100 so we can get a free book! Now the next step would be to figure out what to put in this book, decide the layout, the cover, etc. by 5pm June 5th!!!!! Get thinking! Quick!!!! My ideas: A compilation of Jon's unpublished stories (no matter the level of completion), some of Rudy's poetry/lyrics from his buddies, a compilation of the Blog (TheActionTeam vol. I), some pick-up lines from Johnny, Enron's guide to cable management, etc. Even a combination of all of the above! I need to hear back from the Cafepress people, but think quick! Here is the email:

Beta test our book service and get free stuff!!!

It's time to celebrate! Cafepress.com is closer than ever to
offering you on-demand books with no upfront costs.

In order to create the best possible product, we are looking for
feedback from talented creators like you. The first 100 creators
to respond to this email will receive a free beta version professionally
printed book. Your book will be saddlestitched or bound with
wire-o depending on your selection. What do you need to do you
ask? ... It's simple all we need from you is...

1. Your book in an electronic format

2. Page size set to one of the following

4.18 x 6.88
5 x 8
7.5 x 9.25
8.5 x 11
6.625 x 10.25

All measurements are in inches and are listed as width x height

To make your book readable we strongly recommend margins of at least
1/2 inch on all four sides of your document, feel free to format your
book as you like aside from this requirement.

If you book is under 52 pages it will be saddle stitched (saddle
stitched binding is like a comic book). If your book is over 52
pages it will be bound with wire-o (wire-o binding is like journal). The maximum page count for a wire-o book is 600 pages.

3. Two images for the cover of your book. One image will be the front
cover and one will be the back cover. The images need to be the same
size as your book with an added 1/4" bleed on all four sides, jpg's
are preferred.

4. A phone number that we can contact you at during the day.

5. A willingness to participate in a short survey regarding our new
on-demand book service at the conclusion of this beta test.

To take part in our beta test please email Ryan at beta@cafepress.com
chosen authors will be emailed immediately.

Only the first 100 creators to respond will be selected, so act fast
if you want to be part of the chosen few!

In order to participate you must be able to submit your book no later
than 5pm on Thursday June 5th, 2003.

Thank you for your help in continuing to make CafePress.com one of
the best places to sell risk free on the web.

Tute De Sweete

Well since Aimey is out of town for the next two weeks I figured that I would catch up on some things I have been meeaning to do. Tonight... Operation cord management. It took me 3 hours to get the nightmare inside my computer and behind the desk organized. Kablasavate! Tomarrow, operation shelving efficiency.

MOHAA rules. Yet, I can not dig Castle Wolfenstein. DOnt get me wrong it is a cool game, but I just dont find it as entertaining. I think part of what drives me nutz in Wolf is that when you die you have to sit and stew for being an idiot and getting shot in MP mode. SP mode.. Well it just was stupid, especially once you went underground. MOHAA has more realistic feel without being rediculously, and frustratingly, realistic like counter strike. I guess Wolf seems goofy to me, not gritty enough. On the other hand Thief III looks pretty damn cool. I hope you still get to wheelbarrow the guards around after they are dead. Nothing like a little Necrophilia to get you going.

Dick Hertz
I dunno what it is...

...MOH just doesn't wet my whistle. I can't explain it, there is just some intangible element missing from that game and I can only play it for about 15 minutes before I get bored. On the other hand I highly enjoy(ed) Wolfenstein which apparently everyone but me and Steve thinks is kind of a drag. Do I understand it? I do not. Anyway, Thief III is gonna be the best 1st-person WWII game evar, so it's not important. Even though I won't be able to play it until 2004, I am looking forward to clubbing guards and putting them in "gay" positions on top of other guards. Why was "gay" in quotes? I don't know.

As for the Blood Bowl team, I hate to see a guy down on his luck.

Nice work on the minis board Jonnalee Lee! Don't worry about the dough! Let me remind you that I spent $264 on gaming products, and so far I have highly enjoyed having them, putting them in boxes, organizing them, looking at 5 or 6 pages on the toilet, etc..
Elrick! Help!

I need you to help rally Johnny Khan. He is starting to fear the miniture money pit syndrome, but he is almost complete. Nudge, Nudge, Wink, Wink, know what I mean... His board looks very nice. We went with 8 MDF hardboards 1/8" thick x 1' wide x 2' long with magnetic grass matting. It is actually very nice and very portable. Got the trees sort of planned out. Just need to get buildings. I told him we can use proxies for buildings for now to staunch the flow of ja -els life blood (AKA money).

I dont know about that Bruce Almighty movie.. I got Khan'd into that one. Ja -El pulled the wool over my eyes and before I knew it I was in a bad movie. Jim Carey was not the Jim Carey of yesteryear. It certainly was no Ace Ventura or Dumb and Dumber. There were a few jems, but overall the movie was pretty slow and sometimes dull. Speaking of Jim. The movie Dumb and Dumberer is coming out. Oh my god look out. Both actors skipped out AND the directors skipped out. Talk about trying to suck the last drops of blood out of a dead horse. If it sounds bad, the previous somehow look 5 times worse. Go Hollywood.

Yeah we have to MOHAA it again. This time with all of us sporting a computer/connection.

MOHAA Still rules.
Let's Play MOHAA!!

CNN Story!

Recount of yesterdays fun:
Enron and I cheeeled at my place. We went to watch Bruce almighty with my brother. I liked the movie, I thought the plot was more than appetizing, and the whole jim carey and jennifer aniston thing was good. Before the movie started though, some kid spilled a large cup of coke on my back and hair. Somehow these things always happen with aaron around. I'm thinking Aaron's just cursed! As for the movie, there are definitely room for improvements and some fine tuning of some loose ends. I won't give anything away, in case anyone wants to watch this movie, but I just thought that for someone who got limitless power, certainly used it in a very limited, moronic, way. You'd think God (morgan freeman) would choose someone who's more deserving? or more suitable candidate, than a mid aged man going through mid life crisis and experiencing a streak of bad luck... eh....

The beginning of the movie however was hilarious. Started off with a bang, but as the movie went on, I think the creative juices that the movie started with sorta ran dry. Jennifer aniston at one point was this crying whiny, unloveable character that almost seems latchy and unreal. The fake crying gave me shivers... her "wonder bra" boobs were great! mmmmmm....

So all in all, still a funny movie, one thumb up on a seven fingered hand! B-

The REAL question you have to ask, "what if God was johnny lee?" Ouch.. lightning just hit me.

So um... after that, me and aaron spent most of the weekend building the Miniature board. So far the project has cost me over 300 bucks and I am starting to waver on how much this thing is actually worth.

Highlights of Last Night, or Jon is The Greastest

Enoto came over last night and we rode over to Brewski's for some dinner. Had an awesome Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, a couple of delicious beers and rode home. We met up with DeafMute and Money online and sort of briefly shot each other in MOHAA, and then Jon went home. The highlight of the evening however was Jon giving me a brand spankin' new BB Human team to start filling the void that is the stolen miniatures case, and to get me back on my Blood Bowl feet again!

What a guy!

Also: Apricot Ale by Pyramid is an interesting taste. When you have a swig, you don't say "this is foul", nor "this is delicious", you just sort of sit there and ponder. It tastes like a cross between an apricot injected with iron, and a week old, stale, flat, soured beer. All in all, the beer can be summed up as "not unpleasant".
