Teh Kamp:
Right now, it looks kind of unlikely that baby/wife will be in attendance. I still might be able to swing it, but it will likely hinge on a few other family-related developments and responsibilities. Namely, what is in store for Michelle with job interviews and getting everything lined up for work in a couple of weeks here.
Other possibilities:
1) We travel down the week prior as a family for a few days and hang out in the greater Los Angeles area before heading back home, missing the camping expedition.
2) We travel down that weekend, making a cameo appearance at the beach partay.
3) The Earth gets hit by a huge asteroid and we all die.
4) Meh.
So, put me down for 1 "maybe". If we do make it, we'll be travelling with our own food anyway, if that's a (the) concern, for what that's worth. Sorry to be so non-committal. =/

Any idears about who can come and who cannot/will not attend Parking-Lot-Camp-o-Beach-Con?? I know we gave the RSVP by the 1st of Augustus (Caesar), but anyone have a feeling one way or another? It will help us plan for more people or less people. Plz thx.
I'm playing dodgeball tonight at the Sports Connection in Redondo Beach. With Mike Acosta. WTF?!?!?

I hate moving
I ache. I am tired. I dont sleep well immediate before/during/immediately after a move as a result of anxieties about the million loose ends and things that can go wrong. I am so tired. F my bed too. I'd burn that piece of shit if I had a replacement handy. Soooo Tired.
Next Day : Damn, I feel so much better now that I got a more restful night's sleep. Anyway, I liked Sideways. For some reason I was not as bothered by the situational humor as much as usual. However, I could not handle Election or Rushmore. Those movies are agonizing to watch. I mean I will admit they have a few good moments, but the rest... Jebuz. I want to crawl under the couch and stick my head in a bucket of sand to get away from the embaressment pain.
I heard the Voices of Iraq was pretty good. Aimey and I missed it when it was showing at a couple of theatres here. Just never quite happened for us.
Jon: I think I agree with you on the Charlie film. The first half definately had the second half beat. Good stuff though.
You know Johnny: DVD are not that expensive that it is worth buying the pirateer version. I mean they usually have bad sound and/or visuals. Besides the US customs will ream you. Better not. I mean how much money can you make on one suit case of DVD's were you to make it through customs unscathed? I can not imagine that much that it is worth even lugging the thing around. Leave pirating to the pros.

Badge of Blood:
Actually, things are going pretty well! If you haven't checked it out in a while, take a gander at the website for media updates. As far as the music goes.. we still absolutely need professional-grade stuff. We've still got plenty of time to get that done. Whip something up, man! I'd love to send something up the ladder and see if maybe you could do the entire score if it all works out.

Give the top100 clicky some love, while you're visiting. Hehe.. =)

Welcome to Freezing San Francisco
Ah, yes, my meatballs are freezing. This morning as I gathered my clothes at my girlfriend's apartment and did the walk of shame to the bus stop, I had time to relish the cold fog and chilly wind. I have to say that given a choice between cold balls and sweaty balls, I'll pick the cold these days.
Much like our Mr. Riot, I also saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I enjoyed it, although it was a little inconsistent. Worth seeing for the animatronic puppet show, alone. And the expressions on Violet's mom's face. Generally the first half was better than the second. King Kong: Jurassic Park looked pretty good but I had a hard time with Jack Black's narration because I kept waiting for the jokes.
I am a big fan of Sideways, myself. I wasn't crazy about About Schmidt, but the same director's Election is one of my favorite movies. Thomas Hayden Church cracks me up. "Dewd, those chicks were hype!" Art, you must have pretty much the same approach to comedy as Aaron, huh? I would advise you to stay well away from The Office, as that is probably the most extreme example of that style of humor.
It was a fun weekend. My muscles are sore from moving Aaron and Aimey's stuff on Saturday but you feel weirdly good after doing something like that. I think you get phenomes from all the exercise (I forget the real word) and also you are so relieved when you're done that you feel great. Aaron, one thought I had was that next time we will just buy a catapult and fire your boxes through the windows.
Oh yeah Art... I'll fire off an email to my coworker Darth and ask him what he thinks!

International Movie Piraters union
Speaking of movies, there's a place that sells nothing but sweet pirated movies for 1.25 usd. 1.25 won't get you the gloss paper that comes when you buy an original movie at Fry's! I'm temped to load the ol leather suitcase full of these un-ethical pirate goldmine, but I don't know if the Airport security will confiscate all of them. I think they are very high quality as well, not one of those bring-a-handheld copies that you find in New york street corners (ie, crooked screen, head silouette, background humping noise).
Anyways, i'd get you all some, but again, I don't want to have a record with the fbi as an international smuggler of dvds.
Any advice? You think they'll bust me? BTW Porno is not regulated, so I guess technically i can load up the suitcase with double DD actions, but after seeing some major ball-smelling-cum-dripping shots, i got severely turned off.

Scat vs. To Blave!
It just occurred to me that anyone reading or re-reading this later will be mightily confused at my having had a conversation with myself.. LOL. Like I said, though.. to each his own. I don't find awkward, uncomfortable moments funny. If one finds such moments hilarious, then they might enjoy Sideways or Meet the Parents. To me, there wasn't much difference in comedic value between, say, Sideways and a movie like "Leaving Las Vegas". It's just a series of embarassingly awkward and painful-to-watch downward spiraling moments strung together. It seemed like more of a drama than a comedy to me.
But in all seriousness, if you loved the movie, I'd be happy to send you the DVD. I'd rather it was with someone that loves it than sitting on my shelf getting the intermittent middle finger from its current owner. If it doesn't find a home soon, it'll probably get tossed out anyway.

Speaking of movies to check out:
I just recently Netflixed "Voices of Iraq" which was a suprisingly non-partisan documentary. It was really a very cool concept. They basically sent around a bunch of video cameras around inside Iraq and had the people video tape themselves, friends and neighbors then edited it all together. Probably the funniest bit was this group of Iraqi guys who taught themselves English by listening to Metallica tapes. I had a serious "Better Off Dead" laugh at that. There is some disturbing imagery on the film, so be warned about that if you do decide to check it out.

Sideways:
Funny you should mention how much you liked this movie.
We recently bought a copy of this movie at Costco because we had heard critics rave about how funny and sharp this film was.. and wound up agreeing that it was quite possibly one of the absolute worst movies we've ever seen. There were maybe two or three legitimate funny moments in the film, and you saw all of those in the trailer. Now, the asterisk in this is that I don't find uncomfortable situations funny. I find them.. uncomfortable. So, with that in mind, to each his own. On that same note, I didn't like "Meet the Parents" either. Generally, I've found that any movie with Ben Stiller in anything resembling a starring role is guaranteed to suck huge ass. But, I digress.
If you really loved the Sideways, or if anyone else would like to see the movie, I'll ship you the DVD if you're interested. Just lemme know.
