Jon, glad u could finally visit. next time definitely stay longer, or better yet, bring Janice! We didn't get to continue the day of a million games, which sadly we are not makeing good time on. We also have to hit saddleracks, but that's another time another story.
Hope you had a safe flight home! Thanks for the gifts... unecessary, my friend, but very appreciated! =) Also let jenny know she can give me a ring too while she's in town.
I'm off to workout... then quickly shower, have dinner in berkeley and watch a show!

Rod Stewart
I forgot to tell everyone, I saw Rod Stewart at Staples Center this tuesday. Don't ask, but in a nutshell Leslie's friends from Utah (Ogden, ugh) are HUGE fans and the husband, Kurt, has a dirt company that does the motocross for Staples Center. So, the guy that he works with at Staples, in exchange for some motocross tickets which Kurt has, offered Kurt his choice of events to go to at Staples, and Rod was it...
We had parking paid for in the closest lot, 7th row seats, four tickets for food that included ANY four items per person we wanted, including beer and mixed drinks, and to top it all off, Holly (Kurt's wifE) caught a soccer ball that Rod kicked to the fans during the show, it was signed and they sold it for $100 bucks before we left our seats.
We also ate at the Pantry. Anyone know about this place? Open 24/7/365, been open since 1920-something, has NEVER been closed in all those years for any reason, and has always had at least one customer in the restaurant for all those years. There are all sorts of other interesting tid-bits about the place that you can get in a booklet they had out. The doors have no locks because it never closes!
The food was somewhat rank, and the menu is very limited. FYI, if you order a hamburger, you get a mound of chipped/ ground beef and some hashbrowns on a plate. no bun, lettuce, or anything like that. Also, along with your bread to munch on before your meal, you get coleslaw(?). Check this review?

OK, we'll fit four people and create a fifth person, a sort of homonculous, out of dice and games.
calling all johnnys too
Just picked up on your minutes thing. Well, if you have another way to call me, I'll probably be home around 1:30 and will leave around 2:30.
Here'z my flight info:
jetBlue flight 300; arrive Oakland @ 6:30 pm.
Bathhouses, ahoy!

calling all johnnys
Hey dude, I'm tired and I'm going to bed. I'll try calling you again tomorrow in the early afternoon. If you don't pick up, I'll just leave the flight info and so on. I'll have to go dig up my confirmation, but basically I land in Oakland sometime around 6:30. I'm flying JetBlue.
paging all rudys (incl. Rudy from "Cosby Show")
Driving to KublaKon sounds really fun! Can we fit 4 people + gameage, though?

If you want to see some bullshit, watch the replay of my game vs. Johnny. Not only was I left with 5 guys on the field by the end of the game, but the one guy who got killed got MVP. I really have never felt more screwed in my entire life. Not to take anything away from Johnny (gg by the way. You beat me fair and square, I mean 4-0 is a spank), but I think that it is statisticly impossible for anyone to roll that many 1s in one game. Granted I did make some risky/stupid moves, but the part where I couldn't pick up the ball for 4 moves, it ruled.
I call bullshit on the Blood Bowl "randomized" dice. Sorry if it sounds like I am whining, but just watch the fucking game and you will see. Like I said, I probably would have lost anyway, but it should have been closer.
Frustrated.

Can this league be in any greater attrition?
So far it's ryan and eric vying for the first place, but since the last two games is with me... I'm the wildcard spot. If I can manage to top the 1st and 2nd team in the league, I can potentially make the finals. Ryan, on the other hand, still has a game with Aaron, so potentially he can have a runaway first place spot. If scenario 1 happens where I win both games, Dennis's team has a chance to also be in the playoffs by winning both his matches. Ouch!
I think the "randomness" has something to do with the luck counter. but whatever! All I know is, I have to watch out for Ryans blitzers and Erics dancin shoes.

Disagree
I don't think you got pwned, d00d. I think it was a great, and hard fought battle all the way till the end. Lots of wasted rerolls, some poor rolling (again), some gutsy plays, some brutal blocking, a lazy ass catcher chilling in the KO'd box for the whole game, and a missing ogre, defined the game. Fun, and man o man, was I sweating! Not cause I was scared to win or lose, just because SO many of the moves and rolls were crucial and potential game makers or breakers!
I had fun, and the replay is a classic.
GG
NOTE: This game references the game played vs. Rudy on monday night. And yes, I agree with Denis that the game we played would have been more fun to watch than play, because it was! I watched the replay today and had a blast! I also agree with the "random" method of numbers generated by computers being suspect... there seem to be lots of ones rolled, many of them on bonehead and really stupid rolls, but whateva's, I love it!

I think that last game would have been more entertaining to watch than play. Oh the lousy virtual rolls! Never trust a computer to create random numbers for you. Anyone know exactly how random numbers are generated in a computer?
I say if you are going to fail spectacularly, you should own it. Roll some real dice and take the humiliation like a man! Amen!
If I learned anything from that game it's this:
Fate does not like showboating elves who "leap" over the opposing line and run all the way down the field to the thrower... by himself.
Those wishing to send flowers to the recuperating elf contact Eric.
Curse you sidestep!!!

Brutal game
Dennis almost pulled another Huge V at the end, had his reciever caught the long pass. unfortunate. But the game was ridden with horrible luck on both sides. And the first few turns made it look like it was going to be a lopsided victory for eric. Dennis's strategy really backfired in the beginning, thanks mostly in part to erics two side stepping blitzers. That is quite some skill. The sidestepping skill certainly deserves another look.

Teh Results are Inn
After a crappy game to end all crappy games, Tea and Crumpets and Leather Chaps played to a 1 -1 draw. No wonder both teams lost fan factor this game, nothing went as planned! Regardless, the last round of results are in, check em out!
As far as Enron being out of town in Italia, that shouldn't pose too much of a problem. It just means that Denis won't play for two weeks, and then Ryan won't play after that until Enron returns. No big whoop.

Projector TV's
wow... my friend just bought a Hitachi Projector TV 108" and it is awesome! In my opinion, the projector is not a very good TV, but is a great Home Theatre! Watching the movie at home with that projector, was like watching a real movie in the theatres. Absolutely amazing. My friends system was especially sweet because a surround sound system came along as part of the purchase.
When I get my next job, I'm slapping down 1700 dollars to buy me one. Buying a projector seems a little expensive and self gratifying but it is soooooooooo attractive.
