"You can't spell 'Wisconsin is insanely boring" without "Wisconsin."

High-Five's to the Conan show and to being drunk. Grr...
The Ring

Did you know that this movie was actually a re-made english version of a prior Japanese film? The japanese version has been the best seller for over 20 years or something and it's supposedly really really scary. I've heard the Ring was pretty well done as well. So that's something I'm gonna watch this weekend. Booyah!

Also going up to berkeley this sunday to watch a play called the house of blues leaves. It's supposed a dark comedy based during the vietnam war. Other than that we'll have to watch and find out.

That's all ... sorry for the lame post.
Movilicious

I went to see Lawrence of Arabia a couple of weeks ago on the big screen. Saw it at the castro. A classic old theater in SF. That movie was damn good. I had never seen it before. I tried to watch it with Joel (I think it was one of his favorites) but every time something came up and it didnt happen. I can see how that movie presents itself much better on the silver screen than on TV. The huge panoramas and the visuals were just amazing. Saw spirited away last weekend. It was pretty good. I suggest seeing it in Japanese with the Eng-a-rish subtitles. That way you can avoid the annoying whines and screams usually accompanied by Anime that only happen in the English versions. As one would expect (Japanese anime plots are so odd sometimes) it was a bit bizarre movie but pretty fun.

Macs can be quite comforting at times. It is almost uncanny. You sit at one for a while and then you want to buy more of them. Maybe Steve Jobs has brain washed me. Wierd. I really would like to play with Mac OS X. I hear 10.2 is really nice and actually a much more polished OS then the previous releases. Mac OS X is everything that a lot of power users cried for in Linux so that it would get mass market acceptance. Power user functions/commands based on unix with a UI even ma and pa can use. To bad it probably will not get the kind of acceptance that windows boxes get. I guess MicroCroft will eventually add the features in Mac OS X in a half ass manner 6 years from now.

Roll in a barrel of texas tea and shoot an arab
Ahh, big tempin'. It's a sweet life. Yeah Rude--meant to say, Chrono Trigger is an awesome game. I did the emulator thing with that earlier this year and really, really dug it. You can also get it on Playstation as part of an anthology with a Final Fantasy game, but it's better on emulation cause a) it's free and b) with emulation you don't have to worry about save/load, load times, or any of that crap.

I'm starting to really enjoy my Mac in an almost creepy way. In fact today I was thinking once it's time for me to pick up a desktop, it might be neat to pick up an iMac or something. Yikes! I also find myself reaching for the command key shortcuts at work (where we use PCs).

There's a whole bunch of movies that I want to see which just came out, but I don't think anybody wants to see any of them. I want to see: Auto Focus, Rules of Attraction, The Ring, Spirited Away, and sort of Below. I haven't seen a movie in the theater for a long, long time... me and JP tried but failed to see Lawrence of Arabia, so we rented a movie called "Ilsa: She-Wolf of the SS," but it was so terrible that we watched Robocop instead. Good times!
Move to where?
Ah, yes. Another exciting night at the gymnasium.

Well chaps, I spent my night at the local gymnasium working out. It was very fun. Presently at work, Fred Durnst is recording vocals and (chuckle) playing guitar for the new limp wrisket record. He didn't like the *vibe* tonight, so he left after about an hour. Oh, what a wonderfully productive and engaging fellow! In other news, my job still = sucks. I want to see the new Michael Moore movie "Bowling For Columbine." Looks ravishingly funny. Also, the "Transporter" looks like a fun diversion. I am playing Chrono Trigger right now- I didn't know the SNES had such good graphics and sound- its actually a really good little old school rpg- lot's of fun. One day, it is my dream to move somewhere else. :)
Something about Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Gen Con

Just picked up Sherlock Holmes: The complete Novels and Stories VOL. I. I have always wanted to read about everyone's favorite crime fighter, and now I can. Terrific for me.

So I'm doing a search over the 'net trying to track down these really terrific books by Games Workshop called Fantasy Miniatures. These were published back in the day when GW was actually a nice company and wasn't hellbent on world domination through oversized axes and silly rulesets... Anyway, these books were just a culmination of some of the best entries to the Golden Demon Awards, which is a painting contest. In the early days, the miniatures didn't have to be GW/Citadel, and many of the best, most creative entries to the "Vignette" category had nothing to do with GW crap... so, yeah, they were great books, I had them both and somewhere along the way they both disappeared, and I want to find them again, so yeah, great story..

ANYWAY, I came across this bit of info while scavenging, it made me happy, though left me with a sense of trepidation as well -- could it be as great as the O.G.? Certainly more convienient and CHEAPER....

What the Hell is that Smell

Strange Yes, New Yes, exciting... Sometimes. As with any place, a lot of your time is boring crap. But I do have some stories. Today on the bus I was on my way home from work and as I sat down I got a waft of human Your-ine. D'oh. So I check my seat as I am sitting down just to be sure. Clean. Yeah! Yet as I am sitting on the bus, every time someone walks by me, I am delighted with that smell as they pull the stench along in their wake. Anyway to make a long stoy short, the very old man in front of me got up a few stops down the line and in the seat was the glisten of moisture. His pants... a dark area around his crotch. Bummer...

Next.. My Jo Job is what? Its Jacob damnit! No actually I started woking through a temp agency. Woking, working its all the same. Anyway I got a job basically the day I went in to the temp agency. Oh and get this, I had to complete a five minute typing test... Even with my bastard typing style I was able to get a 38 wpm rate and only a few minor typos. Go figure. Anyway I got a temp job at a help desk. Doing.... Support for point of sale terminals at gas stations. I work for Phillips 66 Petroleum. How hot is that. A fucking oil company. Every day I have to roll around in a drum of texas tea and then shoot an arab. On the fun side I can see any credit card transaction going through some huge number of gas stations and convienent stores around the US. They support Phil Lips 66, Circle KKK, Eunuch Cal 76, and a number of other franchise companies. I have been watching you hoodlums! I got yo numbers... Gonna buy me 10 straight hours of hard core grindage L.D.s in the tenderloin district with them numbers. Or something.

It's cold here!

Asian food markets still scare me. Particularly since nothing is labeled. If you do not know what it is, then you shouldnt be touching it. More later!

Fucking Colorado! Bastard Peter Foreskin! Grrrrrrr!

More Johnny Cash!!

Yes, the posting has been sucky. All must apologize... I do! However... I'M NOT IN A STRANGE NEW CITY HAVING EXCITING EXPERIENCES WHICH MY FRIENDS ARE INTERESTED IN!!! Not that that's a hint to anybody.

Nice work on the weight loss Rudy! And even with all that beer in the fridge. It's surprising how fast it melts off when you're actually working at it. If you would cut off that foreskin you'd lose another 5 pounds easy. Try not to lose weight too fast though. Weight Watchers, my lord and savior, suggests trying to keep it to about 2 pounds a week (after the first couple weeks in which your body is all, "I'm gonna lose lots of weight really fast").

I'm reading this kinda weird fantasy novel, I'll post a review when I'm done. But I'm 150 pages into it and it's 977 pages long, so it may be a while. I'm excited to get through it though because the next book I'm reading I'm pretty excited about, a book I've heard a lot about called Perdido Street Station. I'll post a review of that too!!!!

I did jury duty today. I'm so easily swayed by pleas to my emotions. After the videos and speeches about the Magna Carta and the Constitution, I was totally fired-up to sit on a jury. However, they ended up calling jurors for two cases, and then the third got cancelled or something, so they sent about 100 of us home. Yay! I'm done for a year.

UPDATE

From here on out I intend to publish the playlist from the station and edit it as songs are added or removed. Please paruse it and make some suggestions (other than "less Alkaline Trio", cause that just ain't gonna happen!) I think we really need to hear from Football on this one, at least we need to hear from Football at all, anyway. If I can make the changes and improvements offered, I will. We need Rudy for two things on this one: First, I need the PSA on a disk, Norton is being a pecker, and second, we need a mix of the songs byHumanity Point for the Etherwaves!
Mark it 8, dude.

Sorry for all the sucky posting lately. I had a super-bummer virus-throat-thingy (least it wasnt strep), and it totally sucked. But, I feel like I'm just about over it.
My job still sucks. YEAH. What else... been doing the "music" thing- some good beats being made, but my output is definately lower than it used to be. My biggest focus has been on working out and eating better. Over the last month or so I've lost over 20 pounds and I know I've converted some fat into muscle. So, that feels good.
My folks got me a new fridge for my b-day- my last one basically didn't work and was super-gross and rusty and stinky and just plain-ol-sick. Now I got a nice new one! :) All that's in there is beer, fizzy-water, margrine, lemons, and ice-cubes.
Listening to: Thanks to wierd Russian fan-sites and Google, I'm listening to the new-yet-to-be-released System Of A Down record- its gonna be good! MP3's sound like shit- i'm sick of 'em. Also, The Weakerthans, and some random shit on my winamp playlist.
Reading: Gonna go get something tomorrow from library, but nothing at the moment.
Watching:Last good movie I watched was a french horror/thriller flick called Diabolique. Its pretty old (40's or 50s?) and it supposedly influenced Hitchcock for Psycho. It was really good! It was old, but it still creeped me out!
Playing: Nothing much. Re-installed wolfenstein for the weekend, but got sick of it by tonight. Playing a little Ecco the dolphin on my SMS emulator. Someone just told me they play a lot of Chrono-Trigger on their SNES emulator (heard its a good game) so I might hunt that down soon. Heard that X-Box is coming down to $150.00 (about 4 L.D.s) this Christmas... sounds kinda good!

I'm tired- later fellas.
(Some silly new JEFFK fun - Enjoy )
