Killswitch Engage
I know why this band is the best and why they play as tight live as on the album, they are a bunch of trained, smartie-pants, musicians. The band leader (Ry - "Los Angeles!!!! Means... The Angel!!! In plural form!!!!) played drums on the first two records, before moving to lead guitar as well as producing all the KSE records and a shitload of others. 2nd guitarist attended the Berklee School of Music in Boston. The bass player is some graphic artist who has done all the KSE albums and a shitload of other labels stuff. The drummer has a masters degree in percussion from the highly acclaimed Hartt School of Music in Hartford, CT after earning his undergraduate degree in percussion from the University of Connecticut, and continues to perform with various Connecticut symphonies when not on the road with KSE. The singer just rules.
So there you have it. I get it now.

inbreeding: definately something to avoid if possible. drugs too (the director looks pretty heroined-out in that scene he has with the midget - ew.)
rad stories erik! I didn't know you had got a good gameboy cartridge - glad to hear it works cool. i've been playing golf advance, and i really think its better than the original. once you get the different technical shots down (top spin, back spin, etc) it seems more dynamic than the first. fun as hell!
any gaming this weekend? i play so much gang of four online, i can't wait to use my stradegies against u guys. rox!
- i maintain no discomfiture

Hmm...
I was watching old school again this weekend, and I like it n all, but I don't know if its all that great. There's some really funny shit in it, but there seems like an awful lot of filler too (the the Blue shit - it doesn't make me laugh - i dunno.) Anchorman looks pretty good though.
FletNix:
Saw Bully and Gummo a few days ago. Eh... talk about a whole lot of deprevity for one night. I thought Bully was actually pretty watchable and not too bad. Gummo was pretty garbagey, although there were a few scenes that were really really funny/sad/weird - but there were more scenes in Gummo that were just so uninteresting too. I dunno. Bully was better than I thought it would be though. I also saw Ken Park a few months ago - that was total crap. BOO on you Larry Clarke.

Who K? The UK!
So i'm back and it was fun and grueling and I won't bother everyone with the details. I just have some points of general interest and news to post:
- I have another renewed interest for Warmaster. It is a great game and I want to play it again! I still have your army Jon, and Denis you need to buy and paint one! I just started replacing the stolen Empire army and what better unit to begin my new endeavor with than a unit of Knights Panther! And since Enron has nothing going on right now, you should paint those dwarfs or give them to me!
- Speaking of Knights Panther, sometimes I miss that JP guy!
- I bought two computer games in the UK: Cricket 2004 by EA, and NHL Eastside Manager. Have not installed Cricket yet, and the NHL game is awesome Enron! You run the all facets of the team without actually playing any games! I'll send you a copy Enron. You can manage all the major leagues across the globe, and even use fake players! Fun!
- The EZ Flash II GBA cartridge is the best invention known to man. It is even better when combined with the NES Emulator and a bunch of games. I took some other games to the UK with me, but never played them because I fit about 30 NES games along with Bookworm, Onimusha Tactics and Ogre Tactics on one cartridge! I would highly recommend it to everyone! A++++
- We should start a Southern California Cricket Club. I don't know shit about the rules yet, but it seems fun and the English really like it. I'll report more once I play the EA Cricket 2004 game some more, or rather, at all.
- It looks like Blood Bowl is going to be even better when the next edition comes out. No timetable, but the Vault Playtest rules are changing the game for the better; simplified and clarified rules are the result of a new re-focusing on the game and the miniatures line for BB. Throw Teammate has never been easier!
- Warhammer World in Nottingham was a hoot for me to visit. Not only did I get to see the arena the Blood Bowl was played in, but being right there at the GW headquarters was like a lifelong quest fulfilled. I'm obviously not as passionate about GW games as I once was, but it was like a strange outside childhood fantasy finally realized. We stayed there for about an hour and had some lunch and some beers in Bugmans Pub, which is a dwarven themed pub attached to the HQ offices and the gaming hall, and also enjoyed a Bugmans XXXXXX Ale, which is a traditional ale served via pump tap! Awesome! The best part were the kids playing Blood Bowl in the bar as Leslie and I ate. I had the Space Marine Special which is a chicken, ham and cheese paninni. Cool... more later maybe.
- Hi Mike! We missed out on Hogwarts, so maybe we can go back for the Blood Bowl tournament next year and you can show us around!
- Long plane rides suck ass. However, I did get to see Shaun of the Dead, which was a great British undead comedy. Check it out if you can.
- Wow, that was long. More to say later.

I'm Ron Burgund-y?
I saw Anchorman last weekend with my sister. We wanted to go to an earlier show, but it was sold out. We bought tickets for the later show and went to PF Changs and got loaded, then we went to see the movie.
I have to say, Anchorman did not disappoint. Solid laughs throughout and pretty good cameos. Not as funny as Old School, but not much is.
I am pretty fired up to see Napoleon Dyanmite and Harlod and Kumar Go to White Castle.
Butt-roots and Beer-nuts.

i guess there was supposed to be 6 books in the series, but the guy is saying now that it might have to be 7 books:
4. A Feast for Crows
5. A Dance With Dragons
6. The Winds of Winter
7. Some Shit about Wolves (i forget.)
ya - its gonna be a LONG time till this shit is finished. go ahead and read those chapters - theyre fun and who knows - they might even change by the time the book comes out.

Rude: I really like Tokyo Godfathers too. Good movie. Funny. You know all those chapters available... I always avoid reading them. They just get me more frustrated that I have to wait. It is like eating one french fry when you are starving and then being told to wait a few hours. Do you know. Is A Feast for Crow supposed to be the last in the series? I dont want to have to wait four more years for a fifth book.

Song of Fire and Da Freeze
Now that you've finished, you can get a couple of the new chapters online: from amazon, here's two - Dany Chapter ; and an Arya Chapter!
Eric lent me Dragon Magazine issue 305 which has a novella from george r.r. martin which is actually just 4 new chapters from Feast 4 Crowz dealing with the iron islands. Good shite too.
And on his website, there's also a new sample chapter up (new as of about a month ago - won't say who's perspective as it might be seen as a *spoiler* to some.)
This is the rad message board i go to for all my ASOIAF needs: http://p080.ezboard.com/basoiaf.

I recently rented the anime Tokyo Godfathers which I really enjoyed. Slow start, but once it got going, very very good. Then mostly I've been getting documentaries. Like the Erotic Detective. Mmm.

Have a good flight
Seems everyone has been uninspired to blog. I have been doing quite a bit of writing and so I have been quite unmotivated to write even more. I spent one whole day rewriting my resume. More days working on descriptions. Grrr... What a pain in the arse.
I finally finished "A Storm of Swords". Damn is that series a crazy opera in many ways. I both love and hate the writing style he uses. The way each chapter ends, often ending without fully resolving issues or ended with a new twist/cliff hanger is maddening. It really sucks you in, but it also is aggravating. I checked in on Martin's website, and as of 06/04 he was still writing and looked to be a ways off yet from finishing. D'oh. Jon I don't blame you, but I both rue and lament your suggestion. Well not really.
Elrick, how was the trip?
"Viral Infection in JP's Colin Butt"
PS 4 New "Extremely Critical" IE Vulnerabilities have cropped up in IE today. Patch as soon as MS feels like getting off their duff and coding a fix. If you have Mozilla 0.91 or older, get the update to 0.92 to block a security issue as well.

Netflix accounts
hey, I was giddily surprised by the movie Butterfly Effect with Ashton Kucher, yes, we all agree that he's lame, but this movie was OUTSTANDING! Maybe watching the movie at 2 in the morning had something to do with it, but it had a lot of suspense, intensity and a feeling of helplessness.
It was good. I recommend you rent it. Also, I wish netflix can allow your friends to recommend movies to you. That would be cool. I'm going to write them to develop that feature. In the meantime, give me your account info, so I can see some of the movies you guys are renting.
