The League is now complete!

Everyone welcome Enron and The Smoking Tacos (Amazons) to Teh Supar Action Cup I League! After watching Jael and Highend play, along with some gentle rousing, he decided to join! So that means, no more byes for anyone, whoever has the bye, now plays Enron! Unfortunately for him, the first bye was me, so he gets to play me tonight... check ICQ for time and place!
Good Game JAEL

Had a good game of the old blood bowl with Jael tonight. The Weapons of Mass Corruption beat out Tiny Bubbles 2-1. Rad game. Fuck, BB takes a LONG time. Can't believe I played it so much back then. Cool shit.

Ok, who's next?

Thursday, February 26, 2004

Eh..

$99 is par for the course. Still reasonable. Do IT!

Sir Bortz-a-lot
jael - 7:30 on friday night? I dunno if i'll be home - we might have to do this on the weekend or during the week. Comeon now dude, dont forfit already!
Rudy

Meet me on ICQ tomorrow at 7:30pm?

P.S (Kublacon Attendees) I couldnt get the special rate at the HYATT and there were no other hotels within an acceptable walking radius. 99 dollars is cheap though for a hotel in that area.
bring it jael!
man, i deleted that post about c*nts- omg, i hate that word so much. i just did it to see what it would look like. then, after i deleted it, it wouldnt go away!

my team name is: weapons of mass corruption
my coach name: highend

they're tourneyment stylee - still haven't got an ok from the peeps tho - 2 days goin... hmmm.
Rule!

BooblaKahn-a-go-go. Awesome, well as Sir jOhNNy L33 pointed out, the low low price of $25 for pre-reg ends on the 28th of this month. After that it bumps up to $30. For more details and reg info go to www.kublacon.com.

Sidenote: Although Kublacon's website isnt a great design, at least it doesnt make God cry. Strategicon had to have one of the worst sites of all time. They have updated the site though. Still bad but not nearly as bad.

Dr. Motorbyke Futbol Andersen: What is the job market looking like for you? DOnt take that job in Alaska. Man that would suck. My roommate lived there for a while. Boy is there a lot to do there. Or not. Riddle me this: when you stated 401k you meant of course 40k (typo). I dont think a bunch of investments in minitures will serve me well in the post working age of my life. Just a thought. I just don't see Games Workshop products holding enough of a premium to get even there value back in 40 years. In all seriousness, good luck with the paper. I hope all goes well.

Asshole!
Booblacon

- I have every intention of attenting Booblacon. And by Booblacon, I a mean Kubla Con.
- Nice to hear from you PMikehD!
- I never really know what you mean on the blog, Rudy, so I shall cover all my bases. The Cunty Cunts will never be permitted on FUMBBL (incase you were serious). And when you logon to FUMBBL again and create your team, can you post the team name so I can invite you to Teh Supar Action Group? Also, be sure to create the team in the TOURNAMENT division. And remember all my other blogs about playing the games...
Hear Hear for Geographic Compatability

As probably the most geographically non-compatabile member of the team, let me put my vote for getting us all within gaming distance again! I can't imagine anything I would rather have... and since things aren't looking rosy here for future employment, it's probably not long now when I'll be back in the States at least! Wahoo fish tacos!

Fuggers at Cambridge colleges don't want to give me no love... well, not the kind of love I'm willing to take anyway.

To keep you all posted on what you're probably not even interested in: I'm now 34% written on the PhD. Hard to believe. Maybe by next week I'll be half way.

Wish I could come to Booblacon... maybe next year.
As for the SS, I have thought for a long time that we could all basically forget the idea of any sort of assistance when we get old. 401k, 401k 401k, that will be our only friend. Hmmm, you know, maybe there is a business opportunity in providing surrogate Social Security, you know, taking in money for years and then giving some out later - sort of like insurance.
Righto, back to writin' !

I'm not really into that whole nazi "thing" , so i'll prolly avoid joining the SS.

Jael, i still haven't been approved for my team, so when i do ill shoot u an email and we can set a time (this week is all open 4 me.)

Soc. Sec. better than SS.. Just a thought.

They have been talking about the SS age limit change for a while. I think the problem has always been that more money is being taken out now then put in. The Baby Boomer generation threw things out of whack. The generation after the boomers didn’t have enough kids and waited until they were older to have kids; thus, less money, later than anticipated. Besides 65 is not what it used to be. In general the average age of the population has changed (Although I do hope that they take into account infant mortality, That would really skew the stats). Personally they aught to stop fucking around with Tax cuts. Deficits should not spur tax cuts. As Art used to always say: Mongloid Thereom: Not Congruent.

Elrick: Does "I'm with you, too!" = going to Boobla Khan

We pillaged de woman, Rrrrraped de horses, and pruned the hedges of many small willages
Wow... now greenspan proposes that SS's age limit be raised and the average compensation to be lowered...

Amazing. Those fuggers in capitol hill are pissing money away on war, healthcare and fighting teh gays but then wants to cut benefits for SS?? On the argument for, raising the age limit is practical. Average Americans are living longer, healthier lives and therefore elongating the average working age. It should be raised porportionate to the avg years of people's usefulness. However, SS should not be the main focus of our budgetary crisis. It is not SS, a mere 500 billion, that is causing the deficit in America.

War!

Hoodle Nutz: One of us needs to get filthy fucking rich so we can forget working and play games all the time. Well that and become more geographically compatible. You know if you let Dennis play with 40K minitures, but with a WWII rules set he may play. Just give the guns different names. M1 = Autorifle. Bar = Boltgun. Grenade = Flak Grenade. Tank = Rhino (Not much of a stretch). Power Sword = Bayonet. Etc... He would never be the wiser. Just tell him you developed a new rules system for 40K. Home Brew. Yeah!

Kubla is teH b3st
"I'm with you, too!"

I shall let the words of sweet Luke Skywalker speak for me with regards to the con. I had a blast last year particularly the Blood Bowl (boo!), the miniatures games, the peanuts, the drive, and HUGE beers, and the Dwarven Dig. I can leave the "Flea-Market" concept in the sewer with the rest of teh waste.

I'm working on getting Denis there, cause you know, Denis and WWII miniatures go together like Dubya in a room full of unholy same-sex married couples!

Also, my surprise will NOT be the 15mm Battle Cry project promised last year, but instead, the N scale Cross Fire game that is well on it's way to completion! Yay! Another game we will never play!
WTF?

Rudy, where in the hell do you keep finding these bizarre flash sites? Pretty funny though. Anyone watch the Mythbusters on Discovery? I really enjoy that show. If you ever have the opportunity, I highly recommend that you give the show a viewing. It's so choice.

As far as Con action in May is concerned I think the Kublacon is a worthy cause. IMHO Kubla Khan is Mo' better than the Westin Con.

Yeah what ever.
My answer to the con question is..

watch this flash movie, HERE!
Hey you guys,

Aaron's been asking, for quite a bit now, if everyone is down for the convention in May at burlingame? I'd be ecstatic to find out also whether everyone will finally agree to make the trek out here, together... in musical harmony. So play that funky music white boy, and hum a few bars. Prereg fees are 25 bucks until feb 28th. And if no one can make the one in burlingame, is the Convention at the Westin on?

Favorite quote...

"After all, it wasn't long ago that interracial marriage was illegal" -Tali Woodward in the SF Guardian

Rudy, Yeah I agree that in many ways marriage has morphed so much in past century that it no longer has that "Sanctity" it once had. The slippery slope business.. Thats just a bunch of crap. My question has always been, why are these people so afraid? Is it God? Afraid of a vengeful god? If it is, then it is none of their business. That is between the marrying couple and God. My relationship or any persons relationship with God is their own and NO ONE ELSES BUSINESS unless I choose it to be. Besides the US constitution has been upheld many times as an article supporting the "Seperation of Church and State". If you don't like it, move to the Middle-east. Is it the fear of sex between same sex people? Who gives a shit what they are doing. They arent hurting anyone. Its not like they are doing it in YOUR bed. Is it the arguement that that gives them the ability to make other people "Catch Gay". Come on, give me a break.

Bush is a sleeze bucket. It is his bullshit and the other Republican garbage that made me leave the Republican party. Economically, I usually am in tune with the Republicans sans military spending and recent retard tax cuts. However socially I tend to lean more to the left. Since republicans see fit to incorporate church in state in the form of christian fundamentalism, I have left the party. Fuggers. Militant fundamentalists = Taliban.

Sorry for the Rant but I hate when people try and push their religion on me, particularly as legislation.
I had read at my OTHER favorite blog atrios.blogspot.com recently a good point about one of the arguments against gay marriage. People like bush and the douchinator say stuff like "we have to protect the sanctity of marriage" and "kill teh gyros!" But the sanctity of marriage went out the door along time ago when divorce became such a common and accepted practice here (and elsewhere.) Fuckers.

Another argument I heard against gay marriage at work from some jackass was (really) that if "gays can get married, then I can marry my sister or my dog! Or have multiple wives." OMG. I guess that's called the "slippery slope" argument, and dillholes have been using that since women rights and equal rights, etc. DUMB.

Don't be a homophobe, kill all the *******! - Bad Religion, I think...

1. Yesterday I wasn't even 100% sure if I was for gay marriage, to be honest. Civil unions, definitely. But the chaos is awesome, and you don't just fuck with teh Const1tut10nz0rs. So, I guess now I'm for it.
2. Bush is a sleazy election-year fuck.
3. Fuck the Passion, I'm here for the Christ.
4. This game is a pretty hot idea, even if the execution isn't that good. It's like something Johnny and JP would co-design in 1999, in between games of Axis & Allies.
Gay is as gay does...

Jon, to answer your question, yeah it is pretty cool. It was really fun about two weekends ago when they started this. The mayor started the marriage business thursday eve before presidents day weekend. When the christian fundamentalist were not able to get into court before the end of friday he had the city hall to stay open saturday, sunday, and monday (Presidents day). Most of the people were working off the clock as volunteers. The line to get married in the city hall was huge and CNN was covering the whole event. The best part, since all the courts were closed, it left the conservatives seething all weekend long. Then the first two cases filed on monday against the process were denied an injunction, setting up a longer period for marriages and more litigation. As you can imagine, most of the people here are very supportive (Polls seem to show a 4:1 margin for gay marraige). One local news article summed it up in the headline, "Newsom hatches a plan for queer marriage and puts San Francisco in its rightful place at the forefront of the fight". I guess the mayor, Gavin Newsom, decided to start this process after he heard Bush trash talking gay marriage. Granted that a cynical person would see it as Gavin Newsom courting the Gay constituency which is huge here and trying to make a huge mark for himself across the country (He is very ambitious), but I still see him making the right moves. Certainly the Govonator is not happy. Go judicial system! Maybe this will be one of the times the judical system works.

Ja _El: Tiny Bubbles? Where did that one come from?

giznaD the Brilliant
Eric: My team name is Tiny bubbles

1. Nice work with the smack-talking, Johnny!
2. Did you guys hear President Bush this morning. "Teh gayz0r mar1age is teh wr0st!"
3. Is it all freaky up there, Aaron?
Can of Rudy Woop Ass

Yo Joe!

Elrock: Yeah that is what I normally do. Only I was stupid this time and didnt copy it. It just figures, that the only time I have blown off copying it in a while, I get burned. Suck.

Jon: I saw Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels the first time about two weeks ago and I thought it was a great movie. Very similar to Snatch. Same type of plot and production crew for the most part. Just a bit less polished and more value oriented production levels. I still like Snatch more, but Lock Stock, etc.. is a very good movie. Definately a movie I would suggest seeing to all you monkeys that havent seen it.

jON & jA -eL: Aimey and I's Queue... 78 movies. Aimey just keeps putting more movies in. I just dont know if we will ever see the end of it.

Stupid Costa RIppers! Go Tea and Crumpets!
:)

Sorry Jael! Just got back and I need to put together a bunch of cheap-shit I bought at Ikea. How is Wed for you? Lemme know.
What is this Day of Rest Shit?!

Rudy: Thats bush league psyche stuff man! Just remember, Don't fuck wid teh Jesus! -Teh Jesus

Jael
Teh Blood Bowl Updateh

A few things, gentlemen:

1) Download the newest version, which is 7.3c I think, as this client update has a feature that MUST be used for the games to count. It is the 'FUMBBL Administrative Login' feature, listed under options I believe, it will be in the lower right corner. When this selection is ticked, when both teams login, you will be asked to enter your username and password every game to be *official*.

1a) Also, a kewl feature is you can view your team from overview and then click 'Play', you can set your game up this way, so it is kewl. Just name your proxy and play! You can watch replays this way too, which is bettar than TV!

2) Your team MUST be a tournament team, NOT an Open team. Though I still think we should use teams only available to Open teams, the team itself must be made in the Tournament division. This is actually a cool division because it lets you play as many games against each other in a row as you want and you can have as many teams as you want too.

3) Once your team is created and approved, post the name so I can send out the invitation to the Supar Action Group for point scoring, etc.

4) Thanks Jon!

5) Poor Poor Denis... the second half was held up 6 turns by a riot after the initial kickoff, which in essence gave him two turns to score the equalizer... didn't happen, though Ryan was rooting for him to! That's sportsmanship!

6) Enron: just select all, then copy before you Post & Publish, that way if you timed out on your blog and lose it, just paste it and re post!
It's almost ready JAEL! MUHAHAHA! I have to go out to ikea and get me some new furntiture today, so i might not be done with it tonight - we have 1 or 2 an weeks right? ya, i'm gonna keep you waiting till youre at the breaking point then i swoops in for the kill!
Nay...

I believe at the apex, I had 42 movies in my cue, including Season 4 - 4 part DVD set of Teh Simpsons and Season 2? 4 part DVD of Teh Friends, however lame the selections were. I did have a few great classic gems du jour such as Conan Teh Barbarian and Destroyer, Inner Space. But, I applaude you to add more movies to your rental Que to beat it! Mon Ami!

Snatch is also a brilliant movie. Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels must be really good then. I'll make sure to go and rent it.

J.

P.S rudy, have you got your team made?
1. Congratulations on your victory Ryan!
a. I will be contributing $10 to Teh Supar Action Cup fund, as I believe that sportsmanlike conduct is one of the paramount virtues.
2. I saw Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels this weekend. Highly enjoyable, in my book! It is a good deal like Snatch. I preferred the former, some may prefer the latter... in any case, it's worth a look.
3. It's a slow day at work today.
4. I have 32 movies in my Netflix queue. Am I the record-holder?

D'oh!

Stupid blogger ate my blog again. You know everytime I get lazy and dont use an outside editor for my blog, it eats it. Fugger! ANyway... I rediscovered some classic tapes in my car the other day. Damn! Some old songs off of 7 inchers and so forth. Quite a nostalgic trip. A lot of them were from the days when Elrock and I were living at the Dorchester. Everytime I heard the recording get a little fucked up, I remember you yelling at me for walking in the apartment while you were recording a tape from a record. So then I would get on the floor and crawl around and ask if that was suffucent. Great fun.

Ja?El: That is a pretty good price on Civ. I didnt know how long the game play was, but 5-8 hours pretty much figures. That is tough to get our group to engage in, unless we are the con. I know you are still in minimal game ownership mode, so I agree with you o steering away from that game. Personally I still love collecting games, like Elrock and JO'etersen.

Rudy: Is Erlin a cross between Elric and Enron?

Gots to go!

Teh First Match

The Costa Rippers have defeated Tea and Crumpets 1 - 0, as the first of teh Supar Action Cup games have been played!

Also, Ryan's ICQ# is 330895457.
