NWN2 was awesomesauce. But, a bit buggy. As I recall, I couldn't finish the regular campaign due to some shitty bug that would crash the game repeatedly. Memory is telling me it was right around the time you are finishing the fort/castle thing and preparing for the big battle. They've probably since patched it up.

Did you ever play Oblivion? That is probably the single best game ever made if you use the player mods (PC Only!). I can't even tell you how many hours I played that thing. It's pure awesome sauce. Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul is the 100% must-have mod for the game. Then, there's a few others that are pretty neat and help out, but that's the most important by far.

I'm still sucked into Minecraft. I just found out there are a bunch of texture packs out that make it look a million times better (as good as it can look being a world made of blocks, lol).

You should totally check it out! COME GAME WITH MEH
Good luck with your job hunting Dennis. Hopefully you'll get some gov't cheese in the meantime, but I'm sure you'll find something. I just watched that particular Twilight Zone the other day because I bought the box set. That's a fucked up episode cuz the guy is totally not a bad guy. :( Fuck you, Sterling.

Welcome back Art! Also good luck with any job related stuff you're dealing with!

Haven't gotten used to working nights again. Totally fucks with my body clock. My days off after working are pretty much blown on being exhausted and sleeping till 5.

On the gaming tip, played about 20 hours of Neverwinter Night 2 after getting it cheap off Steam. It's fun and I look forward to checking out the expansions. Got side tracked by loading up Dragon Age again and being blown away by how good modern games look. Gonna try to beat DA before going back to NWN2. GAMEZ.

My beer is still aging in the closet. I learned so much doing my first batch. Lazed-out and fucked some things up, but I didn't skimp on sanitation at least. I think worst case scenario, it might be a little under carbonated. Mid-Feb should be good to try although I might give in a break open a bottle this weekend.

I've been on Weight Watchers for almost a month now. It's going great. Lost about 10 pounds - basically on track with losing 3ish pounds a week. Kind of ridiculous and embarassing realizing how horribly I've been eating for years. Now that I'm holding myself accountable to what I put in my body, jesus, so many years of abuse. I like the program. They basically made most fruits and veggies "free" so I'm never really hungry. And I enjoy cooking and eating real-people-sized portions. Shamefull.

Knowing me, it'll be like that Twilight Zone episode. I'll have all the time in the world to paint minis. Then I'll bust my glasses. It's not fairrrrr!

| Unemployment

Sorry, mang.

Feel free to spend some of that savings you will be living on to come up for another visit/job hunt! Maybe this is what you need to escape the South Bay and make the move to NorCal!

Denis, you need to paint at least TWO miniatures while you're unemployed.

Sorry man -- unemployment sucks, at least after a couple weeks.
To continue the current employment theme. I haz been given teh pink slip. Not looking forward to looking for another jorb right now. Unfortunately, this might throw a monkey wrench in my convention plans. Boooo!
Oh, and because I'm permanently 15 years old.. this made me cackle a while.. lol:

Jon: I did! Awesome news all around mang. Always nice to be appreciated. From the files of "I don't want to be too ego-centric or an ass for wishing ill on others, but I'm a gunna do it anyway!" ... I keep getting reports of the company I used to work for going down the shitter since I left, and it makes me a little bit happy. Feel bad about the departments I directly managed getting pounded with me gone, but as those good employees keep leaving due to mistreatment and hostile workplace environment, then it will continue to get worse and worse for the company. Welp, they get what they deserve.

L-Rockstar: Yah man! I really want the "next" thing I do to be a passion project. I'm tired of punching a clock for the man. I'm ready to do something awesome even if it's just good enough to get by for a while. The good (sorta) news is, with the bankruptcy going through a year ago, and now with the Mini Coop getting totaled, we are nearly 100% unencumbered. It's amazing how little money you can get by on when you don't owe anyone anything. I think we're going to keep it this way for a while.

Actually, I've been kicking around the idea of maybe starting a catering / parties and special events / cooking class business. I love cooking, love teaching, like dealing with people, parties are good.. let's do it.

I dunno, we'll see. I'm going to start poking around and asking people if they want to host a party at cost, just so I can get in the door and start passing out business cards.

I'm going to keep that offer to assist with the brewery in my back pocket for now... I hear you might know something about liquor, sales, schmoozing, and whatnot. :)

Heya Art, glad you're taking a well-earned sanity break! I'm doing well, you probably saw on FB I got hitched last year, also my whole department was laid off last year but I was then hired into a better position in the producer group (as in better paying, better future, better co-workers). So I'm reasonably content. Still think about leaving LF sometimes though because hey, I've been there over 5 years and it'd be nice to try something else.

Have you considered using some of your precious time to play World of Warcraft? :) Me, Aeryk and Mike are all playing now, and we get Denis sometimes too. Five is perfect for dungeons!

Lazy day over here at Chez Ragnar. We went out for a friend's birthday party at an all you can eat, all you can drink (that's right) shabu shabu place and then karaoke. I got totally hammered. Funnily enough I drank at least three times as much as my wife and feel totally fine, while she's laid up with a hangover. Sometimes life just ain't fair....
