Settlers of Yahoo

Yahoo came out with a version of Settlers of Cataan. Pretty well done actually. The only drawback? $29 dollar sticker price. I think it's a pass for me, but again it's a 1 hour demo and the game is worth the demo time.

Aaaaaaaron..

That sucks. =/

On a semi-related note.. I've got about three weeks of gainful employment left. Wow.. what started out seeming like it was fooooorreeeever away is now seeming like it's right around the corner.

I'm turning 30 next month. In a strange sort of way, I'm kind of feeling weird about not really caring or dreading it. Dunno.

Badgeofblood news: We've got some new additions to the family, including a guy that was one of the lead production fellas for the (now defunct?) Warhammer Online project. All we're really genuinely short on now are art/modeller types. It looks like we're going to be full-steam ahead here in the next month or so and really banging away on things.

Also, we're going to need quite a bit of building/architectural design modelling/artwork for this project.. which is one of the many reasons I've asked Enron to be on the project with us. Brutha, I sincerely hope you take a liking to the toolset and software and have some time to dedicate towards the effort. We aren't in a position to offer much in the way of up-front mon-ay yet.. but we are offering a compensation deal that splits the net-profit for the project amongst team members once we bring the product to market at the end of this year. If this works out how we'd like, it will also set aside enough capital to realistically open up doors on a non-virtual office and provide salaries and whatnot for future endeavors so we can all quit our suck-ass jobs and do what we love. I can't imagine a better job on this earth than to be creatively coming up with role playing systems, computer game environments and working worth people you genuinely enjoy towards such ends.

16 working days and counting..

~Cap'n O.

P.S. Anyone else knowledgable in 2d/3d modelling or interested in being involved in the Badge project in another capacity, please just let me know! As I said previously, we don't have a lot of money for up-front costs at this time until we get a little closer to having a product to pitch to a venture capitalist type.. so everything is being more or less done on the potential for being paid a share of the net profits.

Poison Eye

How sweet is this. I got a call yesterday and set up a job interview for 10am this morning. I get a call at 9am this morning telling me that the position has already been filed. Great.

Is it me or has blogger been a bit slow lately?

Motobyke Madness!

Wow. You have made it to submittal. Crazyness. Awesome! Soon you will die. When will we see your ugly mug? Mid-March was it?

Art: You know, I could almost see that joker Dick showing up there like that. Oh well, I can wish cant I? Interestingly, I have seen a few article that he was that he was the only person wearing a non-black jacket.

Oranjeboom!

Myke: congraturation! You have certainly earned your day-long pee (I guess you must've gone a long time without a break?). It'll be nice to have you back in the same nation-state. Let me know when you're in town and I'll fly down for some Crossbows and Catapults.

I've been up since more-or-less 3:45 AM due to insomnia. Hello! On the plus side this has allowed me to do some nefarious plotting for the Action Team Action Weekend (hope you guys are still coming up!). First of all, you guys are free to stay at my place. There's a big floor in the living room, and there are carpets you can lie on providing minimal protection from the hardwood floors, but I don't have much in the way of bedding so you guys will want to bring your own shite for that. I think that while you are up here we should live by one simple rule. At any given time we have to be doing at least one of the following things:

1. Gaming.
2. Travelling somewhere to do gaming.
3. Drinking.

This rule applies morning, noon, and night. I call this the Law of Oranjeboom.
SUBMITTED!!!!

News flash: Myke Myke Motorbyke has just submitted his thesis!!! Now all he awaits is his ritualised hazing session from grumpy old men for the whole thing to finally be over!

Just thought you'd all like to know! This means I might actually have time to post once and a while, (though 60 lectures for UCLA by April will be no mean feat!)

More soon (i.e. tomorrow) I have to pee now.
