To Reiterate

Please, everyone change your "nicknames" to whatever your name is with a capital. The exception is Johnny, which should be spelled "Jonny". So, that means everyone needs to be nicknamed either Rudy, Eric, Aaron, Jon, Jonny, Mike, or Ryan. I need this to happen first before I can assess any other problems with Blogger, ie instead of using the nickname to post an image, it seems to be using the REAL names, or part thereof ("Ja" or "Deaf")... Strange, but please please please change over!
Yay I fixed my computer problem

Stupid laptop wouldn't see the C drive on my desktop but can see everything else. Gave me an error "not enough resources on my storage or something".

Went on the net and found numerous posts on discussion forums with the same stupid problem. ENDS UP, apparently Norton anti virus 2002 changes some setting in the registry that makes the C: inaccessible through the network! You'd think they'd (people at Norton) can fix these little bugs they create. The problem was solved by changing a HOTKEY number to "0". YAY!! Took me a few hours...

Nowadays you can pretty much d/l anything, and I mean ANYTHING, off the net. I don't know. Legitimate is good, but free is unarguable. I'm so torn.

Is mike dead? That's so sad... good ol' mike. What a guy. Hey, dibs on his miniatures

EXTRA, EXTRA! M Anders is dead...

Reports of my death...

Have been greatly exaggerated! Tomb rot indeed, do we not have a promise? That I must outlive you all, and thence pillage your carefully constructed and booby trap filled collective tomb? Just buried with work, not soil, and previously in a place where the Internet was more difficult and less accessible and I was (hard to imagine I know) buried in work. GenCon winter and LA(ish) sounds cool, I'll definitely be there. As an aside on the GenCon thing -- I visited Carrie in New Jersey and we went for a small trip to the New Hampshire mountains and hiked around for a few days - it was great. Whilst I was hiking however, I encountered another hiker who recognised my GenCon 35 years shirt -- we exchanged knowing gamer glances and comments -- you never know who you'll meet in the wilderness!

Aaron, I rarely am so composed whilst Jon is yelling 'Take it, Take it!'

Byke
Soooo Tired. Arrggg...

I am dying of Burrito Comatose. If I thought I could I would sleep under my desk right now. ALmost time to go home. MotOrByke, I thought we might never hear from you again. I figured ten years from now one of us would run across an old paper and see your obituary, but never have known. I figured you got tomb rot and the WOPs through put you on a small island in greece with a minotaur.

Jon: "Take it, take it, take it, take it!", accompanied with hip thrusts.
Myke: Good to hear from you. That would be fantizmo if you could make GenKhan. Rock on. Before I fall asleep at the wheel, I am off.

"Her special ability is rectal fortitude, giving her one extra rectal wound. That and if you rub her boobs she will give you good fortunes. Sort of like the belly of Buddha, but more attractive"
Okay, images and nicknames

Strange things are afoot at the action team... it seems that some of you thought you would be cute and change your nicknames in your profiles, which then has messed up all our images, blecch. Fix it fix it fix it! Here is what you got to do everyone, including Jon and Ryan and Rudy and myself who seems to have done nothing, but now it looks like Blogger is capitalizing all our nicknames without our consent, change your "nicknames" to the following: Eric, Rudy, Jon, Aaron, Jonny, Ryan, Mike. This should fix our problems, and that is what I am setting Blogger to read, so please, get on it and make our site lovely again!

Strange things indeed, I'm pretty sure this will solve our problems, or at least give me a better chance of finding out what is wrong....

On Closer Inspection, Those Are Loafer

Well looking closer, things seem even stranger, but still, please change your nicknames to their capitalized names as I requested above. It looks like nicknames have changed here and there, some capitalized and some not which makes a difference because blogger see's them as being different, but our server won't let us create a capitalized and lowercase version of the same name (ie Eric and eric). Strange indeed!
MIKE!

Good to see that you are not deceased! Your save the date magnet was returned to me and I thought the worst! FYI the wedding is the 3rd of January 2004 in Santa Barbara, hopefully you will still be around at that time. As far as SoCalGenCon goes, it is the 11th - 14th in Anaheim. Yes, there are now 3 GenCons: SoCal, Indy, and UK. So we are planning on attending Anaheim! Hooray!

Weird about the images not linking right all the time...
Gen Con?

So what's the deal with Gen Con? Is there some winter version that we're going to? I might actually be able to make that one...
Jael, you've always had my committment, but you can sign me up for those dates too -- I'll be in LA then -- where do we have to go from there?

So, wow, it feels like it's been a long time since I was able to Blog, or check email, or anything other than work. The dig was great... intense and all consuming, but great. I'd talk about it more, but I'm sure you'd all be bored in a second. Since then, I've been desperately trying to dig myself out from under the whole that going there creates for me... email, backload of work, etc. (Again, boring, boring! -- sorry guys I lead a boring life.) This explains my lack of contact and once again, I'm sorry for that.

Glad to hear that the Con went so well, and particularly enjoyed reading your Blogs just prior to it -- really sorry that I couldn't be there. In fact, I miss you all a lot, and certainly miss having a 'normal' life... it sounds so great, what you guys are up to. (Congrats on the new job Rudy -- belated I know... what do you do now?) Anyway, if I continue to write in this vane, you'll hear nothing but complaints about my PhD work (which is making me work 18 hour days now.) I'd give a lot to be back home with you, playing the occasional game or two, perhaps in a year I will be there! Just so you know, I spent the weekend playing lots of computerised AD&D with IceWind Dale in honour of the convention -- so I was there in spirit (sorry Jon...) Oh, and Jon, IWD PROVES that Simon's stats are nearly unplayable... if I've had to save his ass once, I've had to do it a million times -- the elven mage has more hit points -- not really.

Eric, so glad that you're happy. That's awsome, to be that stoked about getting married, about your job being a little better, and about a great Con. As for the FUBAR and payment, I'll be glad to chip in too for the hosting, so sign me up. The FUBAR was particularly funny, because I was just about to Blog -- having just managed to clear the decks of work for a few moments when, hey presto, I was FORBIDDEN to do so! (Part of me did think that maybe you guys were triying to send me a message, but you know me...

Ok, what a fine message this is. I'll post happier stuff soon, maybe when I've arranged for my trip home this Christmas.

That means that I have to have a committment from all

Before I call. But if I can't get the deal then the committment doesn't matter. But I want to call now, since registration has begun. So if everyone is for sure available from the 11th (thursday) through 14th Sunday of december, let's get a show of hands.

Clear your schedules. I'm in, and erics wedding will not be until a few weeks after. So... who's in, who's out?
Let me know your committments folks.

Jael
Score!... I am officially a travel agent

After a long and arduous application process, I now am a member of IATA organization. You non IATA's will perish with the next coming doomsday! haha!
The benefits you ask of being in the Mason's club? Since we are staying at Gencon at the Hilton, I'm going to see if I can get us the Travel Agent rates for the hotel. It'll be toute des sweete. If they give me a special deal, we will be looking at paying 40-50 dollars a night. But my optimism may be a little premature, as it is a "special weekend" and the hotel may be booked up by Conventioneers. I'm sure though they have a slight reserve for normal guests.

Bridal registry at the Brookblurst... Genius!.. uh.... yeah... here eric, heres a lead pewter pig 1940's Tiger Tank and for your lovely wife? A matching Panther tank shipped all the way from england. hazzah!

The scale looks mighty interesting. can't really see much of the details from the picture but it looks pretty tight so far. Have you painted the DBA guys? I noticed that they are 20mm, which is a really funky scale. Actually we should try playing a 25mm. I actually like bigger troops. or i say we go micro and have epic scale.

As Promised

Here is a sloppy link to the first pic of the WWII tile. Check it kooks!
Bridal Registry @ Macy's?

Ehh I think Eric is trying to get one set up at BrookBlurst Hobbies. I am sure he is looking for Peter Pigs for his wedding gift. Rule! Elrock I will throw some bones your way for Ye Olde ActionJacksonTeam.orgofart. I will split the bill with you and any other monkey that feels like throwing down. Everyone, I have thrown down the gauntlets, chime in if you feel like sharing the burden. I know the $25 deal sounds great, but nexpoint does have good amenities for a good price. Clean bathrooms, fresh coffee, clean towels, spacious rooms... Wait a minute! I dont get a room from those fuckers. Seriously though they work and they give lots o' (bukkake) space. 500MB isnt it elrock? Or is it a slimmed down version of the 10d6 and Studio9one2 sites. Unmetered Band, email, good script support, 99.9% uptime.

Even though I got 7 hours sleep monday night, Tuesday @ work was completely surreal due to lack of sleep. I guess I didnt sleep a lick of good sleep at the Con. I have trained my body to deal with lack of sleep much better than I used to. I got a good bit of work done on Tuesday, but I can not remember doing any of it. I was in a total zone. When I came in to work on wednesday I could swear I had not been to work since last friday but all kinds of tasks were magically done.

TechnoRude, how is the new jobby job doing?

Catch of the Con: Jon scoring me a copy of Forgotten Realms for $20! Thanks Oetersen and Happy Bday. Eric I forgot to give you your belated Bday too. I owe you two monkeys.

GenCon ala AnaConDa would kick arse!

Make sure you are happy enough to sign the bridal registry...

on macy's dot com and other sites so I won't have to stress about about what ta get tcha!

I love the bridal registry,

best invention in the whole fucking cyber planet!

This News Whipped My Camels Ass

Wesley Willis dead at 40.

Rock over London, Rock on Chicago. Blockbuster Video, wow, what a diffress!
Me, Myself, and I

Jeebus, sorry for not actually calling you last night Jon, I went back to sleep (apparently) after we talked, then was awakened by a call from Ry to go to the gym so I jumped out of bed, changed, went to the gym, ate, and completely forgot about your call, it was like a dream. Sorry. I'm NOT going to Santa Barbara this weekend, so we should get together then, if nothing else on Sunday for D&D lovin'.

Nexpoint/Eric FUBAR

So the problem was that while the 10d6 site is setup for auto renewal, the other two sites are as well, but linked to an expired card. So the autorenewal notice hit, then over the weekend the card declined email came while I was conning and weddinging it up, then the sites were locked out cause no payments were made. Ugh. Everything is fine now. If anyone wants to help, the yearly cost is $99 for all sorts of good stuff including domain name. It's not $25, but we get way more stuff. So, any help would be appriciated. And I'll bill studio9one2 ASAP, or close to it.

Conalicious

It was one of those feel-good cons. I had fun despite my hectic driving and sleeping schedule. Nothing but good times, and I bought some of the coolset shit evar! I have already build one piece of 1/300 WWII scenery (pictures to follow, seriously) and painted some of the squads. Hopefully the pictures will make Enron and Jael salavate over playing some Crossfire! Despite everone else's opinions, I am SUPAR happy about the money spent on Up Front, too. I have been looking for over quite some time now for it, and now I have it! Good con! And I am taken aback at the commitment for the December GenCon from everyone, if I am not too busy with the wedding by that time, I think a good con will be had by all!

I am Happy!

I'm just in a good mood right now. I'm getting married, I'm working out and eating better, work is (seemingly) going well, the con was fun, WWII miniatures are cool, and my cats rule. Things are good! Fuck you sadness!

An excellent con

Seriously, this is one of the funner ones I've had in a while. Save the drama ie, Eric leaving the con, my cousins dropping by with pregnant non-gaming wife, Jon dissapearing to feed the dog, Aron fighting the dicks, but some is inevitable at every con. I was coherent, Jon was happy and exhuberant, Aron brought his women to share, Eric was Eric. My fav quote: found a condom in Art's house... These guys Score!
Then there were many cool and fun moments.

I'm totally down for Anaheim Gencon, and whatever con that comes along next!!!

an fun con

That was an exceptionally fun con... thanks for going, guys!

Got to play lots of good games this time around! The ones I remember are: Ogre (finally!), Battle Cry, Dungeoneer, Castle, Acquire, Mutant Chronicles (+1 aborted attempt), Giganten (damn good!), many games of Carcassonne, and Frag. A good run.

My favorite quote: Johnny, on trying to get a tan: "But I'm not trying to be the next Wesley Snipes or anything...."

birthday

I spent my entire time on my birthday trying to fix a lady's computer. Until 10:30, with a 2 hour break for dinner and cake. The good news: got the sucker working again (mostly). The even better news: I got a laser printer for my birthday! Sweeeet! Best present I've got in years.

Go go Gadget Nexpoint.com
LOL
the new look

Whoa, I love the new aesthetic. "Forbidden." So austere and demeaning.
