EDIT 3: This is for Dennis.
EDIT 2: Still not cheap enough for Eric.
EDIT: Puzzle Quest SPACE demo! This is gonna be another friggen addiction! :(
Haven't seen a movie in ages, but I watched on DVD the 4th season of 24.That was pretty horrible, surprise surprise. On the fourth season muslims got a hold of a nuclear missle and shot it at Los Angeles. The airforce shoots it down like minutes before impact, so all good. Jack Bauer and his crew torture ALL kinds of people, mostly totally innocent ones, it's pretty rad. If you're into torture-rad.
Since Battlestar Galactica starts up again this month (?) they've been showing these webisodes about Gaeta. Pretty GAY-ta. They're about 3 minutes long, so it's kinda irritating to try and watch. But they've got em all up on Hulu.com, so if you want to see an fairly boring Gaeta sextravaganza, have fun.
Went to a private screening for Season 2 of Flight of the Conchords. It was fun. Free beer and food and a DJ. Bizzare cuz they screened it at the Natural History Museum, so it was something out of a movie. Like big old fucking dino skeletons all in the middle of the room where the party was. But fun. DINO-mite...

| Movie I'VE Seen Lately
28 Weeks Later
The tale of a family in the UK within the boundaries of a US controlled re-population zone in London that has a carrier monkey of zombie infection for a mother, and the hilarious hi jinx that ensue as the mother infects the father and the father-zombie infects tons of people and the father-zombie hunts down his kids for some reason. The end of the movie leaves the opening for 28 months later as the zombies have somehow made it to mainland Europe *cough, cough* *chunnel* *cough, cough*
Not the worst movie I have seen, but it certainly failed to keep my riveted, or on the edge of my seat. I would probably rather watch this than, say, The Pickle, but the first one was better.

Black Snake Moan
All right, so the premise of this movie is that Christina Ricci is an always scantily-clad, frequently topless Southern nymphomaniac who the crazed Samuel L. "the L stands for Motherfucker" Jackson chains to his radiator, using the power of blues to cure her of her wickedness. HOW COULD THIS MOVIE POSSIBLY BE BORING!?!!!?!???!? And yet it is. Turned it off at the hour mark. Cannot shake the feeling that something has gone deeply wrong with the universe.
Gran Torino
Now we're talkin'! This movie was great, not so much that it does anything really inventive or unique, just as a solid, well-crafted piece of entertainment. Clint Eastwood plays a grumpy old man who befriends the asians who have taken over his old neighborhood. He plays the grumpy old man thing for laughs, yet at the same time he is completely badass. He is almost 80 but it is somehow totally believable when he beats the shit out of some neighborhood bullies. I really recommend this movie, at least on DVD!

- Borst's WoW career is also moving right along! I'm a bit more than halfway through level 67, meaning that I'm almost ready to get to the new expansion, and also, for the first time in five years I could be the same level as Docnorvell!
- They just start throwing money at you at some point. I picked up 150 gold playing for four hours this morning.
- Back in March of '08, Aaron and two guys from my game group started a Descent: Road to Legend campaign. It is finally drawing near an end as the heroes have entered the Overlord's Keep! One more longish session and then we'll be done. We play an average of once a month (this was the 9th session). I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out, as for a while it looked like I (the Overlord) was really on top, but after the last session I think that the advantage may have solidly turned back to the heroes.
- Speaking of games, I would like to encourage people to start using the game spreadsheet again as part of your '09 resolutions! I don't know about everyone else but personally I always enjoy reading about the games people are playing. Sometimes there isn't much interesting to say about a particular game but it's still good to know that other people are out there getting their game on. For example: I happen to have inside information that Enron was playing games last night, and I highly doubt that Aeryk has stopped playing games, both with his ladyfriend and his solo WWII adventures! And Denis, aren't you still in a game group down there? Linky: here!
