That is sweet that Wylie is already starting on his improv routine.

I almost spit my oatmeal on my computer when I read this: "And really? Does a terminator need a candelabra on top of his armour?" and by the way, Yes he does! GW says so. I have to agree with the floor polish. A bit much. I really like the embossing, but a more matte finish would have done it more justice. Still a great game.

| Ceci n'est pas un pomme

Genius! I do believe Wylie is becoming a surrealist.

I broke down (not really) and bought Space Hulk. Very nice minis. A little too busy with the details though. I think there is such a thing as too many skulls. And really? Does a terminator need a candelabra on top of his armour? I like that the floor tiles are embossed. Very classy, though a little too glossy for my tastes. Apparently genestealers like to use Future floor polish in their hulks. I don't blame them, the fruity scent is delightful. I plan to take the minis off the sprues, look at them lovingly, prime them, half paint them and never play the game ever.

Speaking of games I will buy but never play because the minis are half painted, Privateer Press posted the rules for their warjack bloodbowl game. For some reason I'm reminded of The Blood of Heroes. Aaah, a gem from my youth. Anyone remember this fine, fine movie?

That was definitely a fun day. Gotta like any game where one side is drunk by turn two. Your tactical advice re: crotch shots was most appreciated, although I'm afraid nothing can help me win with that particular warcaster. I'm retiring her to a career playing Warmachine Beach Volleyball. Showin' off that rack. High five.

Also, seriously, between the three of us we have an extreme shitload of different stuff. You'd never have to buy anything. Or, there certainly is enough for some extensive try before you buy. When you factor in that I have Aeryk's gorgeous Khador miniatures (some airbrushed!), we've got all the factions represented (except the elves). I doubt he'd mind if you took 'em for a spin, especially if you called them the Khadoran Khombat Khommanders.
Good stuff. Awesome picture. Was that playing solitaire? The stress must have been tremendous. Jon loaned his copy to me to read through. Still reading through it, but if I have any questions I wonder who would be knowledgeable in this game. hmmm....?

Aaron, I found a Vassal War machine module. Might be cool to check out.

ja -El, you should totally read up on the rules, play a few solitaire games and then go school that n00b eLzar.

It's a pretty neat system I have to say. I have enjoyed all the games I played. Even that first parched, solar fueled sweat fest drudgery of a game at Boobla Khan.

Exhibit A (sun drenched n00b vampyre dying from his own sun bathing stupidity):

| Eh, Wot?

What is this Combat Commander game you speak of? Sounds interesting. Maybe I'll try it out sometime?

I have HEARD that the rulebook is is overwhelming in appearance only, the system itself is actually very, very playable and makes a lot of sense. I have also heard a suggestion that reading and setting up and following the example of play BEFORE actually reading the rules will help put all the rules you read into perspective.

I have HEARD that's a good way to learn the rules.

Let me know if the game is any good! :P
Great weekend, thanks Jon for hosting. Its definitely worth the hour n half trek up there to see you guys. Good seeing Mike and Aaron and meeting Matt (He-who-is-not-ziskin) . He does look like the skinny old version though.

WM
Let's do it again sometimes. I'm looking into getting some WM minis, but i don't know about buying all the paint shit again. I spend 150 bucks for all that crap and only use 1/100th of it. Maybe I'll just bum off of Jon's paint.

Combat Commander

So many rules! Still reading up on the examples, but so far it's pretty neat

So Funny!
