Wow - that sounds pretty in depth - even gave you the percentage closure of each side - maybe there is some new techniques involved here that I would be interested in taking a look into - at least for a quick consultative purpose. Definitely I'll look her up - does she have a web? or a phone # would suffice. I think it may also vary with skill and talent of the individual doctor. Maybe the one I went to was just a lemon.

I actually moved back to the South Bay for a while - I know, the term "bay area" is just confusing as shiznit. I almost use it reversibly whereever i go, but never specify if it's the north or south bay and confuse myself at times. anyway i meant the south bay, my house is now in the "Getto" parts per ala Janice Lee soon to be Janice Etersen, where we have Barrel fires as street lights and it segways into Uzi fire and Blockwars on occassion. Yeah, that's right, I'm right behind Albertsons - that's where all the tough block wars start. I'd still like to take a look at your nose - it'll definitely help me. I'm an expert at nosestonomy by now, maybe grab some boba.
Johnny, I don't know if I had some new aged surgery compared to what you had, but she took the packing out the very next day and I could breathe normally. There are no straws or coagulated blood to speak of, just a little swelling. During surgery, she made an incision in my left nostril which was 90% closed, broke the bone underneath, and reset the cartilage. My left side had 60% closure, so basically she just evened out my cartilage. She put in like 4 dissolving stitches, and I have to do a sinus rinse at least 3 times a day for a couple of weeks. But aside from that, the worst part has been my throat, recovering from my tonsils being removed. The nose has been no big deal.

You said you'll be back in the Bay Area next month, do you think I live up in SF, or did you mean South Bay? My parents still live in Manhattan Beach and again, that is where I am staying. I guess you can look at my nose if you want, but I don't think you would really see anything. If you have questions, why don't I just give you the name and number of this doctor, and you can call her. She probably could tell you way more about your specific case than I can.

Rude, she said this should be permanent surgery as long as I don't break my nose again or gain tons of weight. If I don't do either of those, I should have positive effects from this for a very long time. If you have good insurance, VERY worth it.

Ok.

| Hey Ry,

That's great to hear -

I'll be back in the bay area around July or so. If you don't mind - maybe we can meet up - I'd like to take a look at your nose... um what was it.. no homo? or we're all guys here.

It will take a few weeks to get the healing truly settled. The packing or straws that they put in are WONDERFUL, yet simple devices - the straws helped me breath great as it acts like a pathway expander despite all the coagulated blood and post operational crusts. Once they take that out though, and then the coagulated blood starts coming out, you start getting used to it, you'll get more sensitive to your breathing. That's when you'll notice any particulars if any.

Anyway, give us another post operative in a few weeks or so!

I'll be back from Taiwan beginning of July - that should be before your trip back to Hawaii in August.
That's really cool that it's been such a success Ryan :) Glad it went well and was less painful that what you expected. Is there any chance of stuff reverting back to how it was, like over a few years, or is this permanent?

Other random new, went to 3rd Planet today and that place was depressing as well. It was like someones poorly lit garage with a smattering of mini shit along the walls and maybe 10 people in the back playing some diff games. I don't know HOW they pay rent because there was NOTHING there! Awful. (Went there because I called and the guy said they had something which of course they didn't - fuckers.)
