Play Without Words

So I listen to this jazz station KJZZ a lot because its good, but they keep running this stupid ad for this 'sexy, funny, and Olivier award winning' drivel-sounding play called 'Play Without Words' -- the annoucer speaks in exactly the same way as the 'There Will Be Robots' announcer in Vice City... made me laugh the first 20 times, but now... I'm slowly going mad!
Jus' thought I'd share!

Gas Prices

AAA had a gas calculator to figure gas prices from here to SF - supposedly it would cost me rountrip to drive to SF $59.46 - thats 762 miles at $2.57 a gallon - i really dont think my car gets the max mpg, but hmm - still looks pretty good versus flying - what about yer car eric?

http:/gas calculatorz!

I love that deef mute hat man - omg, i might seriously wear that!

-Boneache

(Rico is basically dead - havent played him in a long time - just been havin a blast in pvp land with boneache - 33 priest. My sub runs out tomorrow - i NEED to let it die - we'll see if i have the will to do it hehe)
That website is looking good, Art. I will commence clicking through as part of my daily routine.

Ah yes, boredom and Photoshop. I have another idea or two that I might put up this weekend.
LOL.. that cafepress stuff is priceless.

I've got little new news other than I am SO GOD DAMNED PUMPED for the NFL Draft tomorrow.. WOOOOOO! It's Christmas in April. =]

Oh, in non-related, yet still goodness-news.. check out the new material put out for the Badge of Blood project. We were going to hang onto it for a seperate "exclusive" press release but it was burning a hole in our pocket so we voted "screw it" and put it on the front page. Hehe..

www.badgeofblood.com

Hey, while you're there.. click the "top 100 moddb" button on the top right. We can use all the help/exposure we can get. =]

RUDE MAN.. if you still have time/interest, I've not forgotten about your musical talents. Let me know if you need anything from my end, or if you have some sketches/roughs to throw into the mix?

(I'm still laughing at the Deaf Mute merchandise.. LOL)

Late guys..

I might get a Deaf-mute apron. That shit is funny! Hey, I might be into going to the High3nd CD release too. Let me know!
Good news!

I've added fantastic new products to the Cafepress store!
Eric told me Mike is gay! (As in happy)

Soooo... despite my budgetary problems, I ordered the Doom boardgame. Way to be financially responsible Jon. It came yesterday and I busted it out with my roommates. It's a zombie-blasting, marines-usually-get-killed good time, and I think you guys will like it. Maybe even Denis if I paint up the miniatures?

I also got the Puerto Rico expansion, so hooray!

I've heard enough good things about Buffy that I've been meaning to get around to watching it. I watched a few episodes from Eric's Season 1 box set back when I was housesitting, and just couldn't get into it. But my understanding is that it really takes off with Season 2.

The Buffy RPG is the darling of RPG.net. Those guys swear by the Cinematic Unisystem the way Roman Catholics swear by their precious Panzerpope. I haven't looked at Buffy or Angel, but I have a few other Eden products and they always put out really quality stuff (in addition to publishing some fantastic short fiction!).

Eric: now that you've spent more time with the new WFRP, what do you think? Is it worth picking up?

Bagels and coffee make for a good breakfast.

The first season of Deadwood is really good.

That's all for now.
First of all...
what other blog? Oh, I know, it's the shhh! Don't tell Mike and leave him at the Con while we all go to watch the Kings blog.... I get it... but seriously??

Second, cool, Aeyrk, you keen on watching me make an ass of myself teaching on Friday? It's about war, not about drama (like today's lecture) so you won't have to think I'm gay or anything.

Denis is Two-Timing Us!

Or rather, posting on the other blog but not our beloved Action Team! Does that make him a two timer, or a traitor? Anything bad? Whatever.

Denis: Can you maybe get Thursday off too? That way we could go to Kubla wednesday night, and get that bonus night at the con Jon was talking about. Possible? And my Blood Bowl team for the con will be an Ogre team. I got a box of the new plastic ogres, and they convert pretty well with some green stuff. So, I'll try to get that done. And there is a BB 7's tournament on Sunday we should play in. We can even train prior and finally use the 7's board I have!

Mike: We should rock the High3nd show friday! Also, have you read any of the Crossfire rules? And, I made an Anti-Leonidas out of the box killer for Anachronism! It uses Beowolf's axe which does 2 damage and allows a free attack when you critical, an Inspiration that makes all hits criticals for that round, and a kimono that allows one space of movement when your opponent misses an attack. There is something else in there too, but I can't remember what it is. Stock Leonidas is dead finally! Funny story about that, Ryan was playing as Leonidas as when I first tested the Killer deck, and he slaughtered me due to appalling die rolls. I cried, then tried again, and finally beat Leonidas! Of course, to make the universe right, I need to beat Leonidas while you are playing him...

Highend: Make a million dollars from record sales dude! Can we buy the CD at the release party? How did you say farewell to Rico? I still have not put Doc to bed just yet, I just haven't even wanted to turn the game on for fear of being sucked back in after such a long time away!

Everyone: I am absolutely addicted to Buffy and Angel right now. I never saw an episode when it was on TV, except for "Shhh", the quiet one with the floating scary doctor demons, and now I am watching the DVD's obsessively. Season 1 - 5 of Buffy, done. Season 1 of Angel, done. Season two, one disk from done. Sickness. I even bought the Buffy RPG, which looks like goofy fun. SICK!

Also, I will try and get the Memoir '44 casualty counters finished by the con, but no guarantees about the terrain. I have kind of lost my fire for that project, seeing as I really have only played it once in what seems like forever. Maybe having Mike around for awhile will get me playing it more and motivated to finish the terranious maximus.

And another thing, GW has released a plastic boxed set of Terminators, so maybe somewhere down the road I can pick some up and replace the stolen terminators for Space Hulk! Though, some of those were the classic JP paint jobs which will never be replaced... *sob* *weep*

Johnny: So angry you eBay'd your 2nd edition Space Hulk!

OMFG!

No really, I'm still alive. Still dunno about the con for sure.. although my property manager just called and said we should have renters maybe the middle of May now (instead of April first.. feh). So, things will kind of depend on how all that goes.

And now, for a semi-recent picutre of Haylee in her wild animal outfit.

WFRP In Cincinnatti

Why don't we stay at the hotel for an extra night (Thursday)? That way we get a li'l more con and don't have to worry about making noisy noise, etc.. Sounds good to me unless you guys are gonna get here really late -- in that case, might as well crash here.

Well...

Myke you have two choices. SFO (San Francisco Int'l) is really close to the Khan (~3 miles) but can be prohibitively expensive to fly into sometimes. It really is more of an int'l hub and less of a regional airport. However occasionally I find a good deal to/from there. Probably not likely on Memorial Day weekend. OAK (Oakland) is much easier on the pocket book being that it caters more towards the more budget orient crowd with air carriers such as Jet Blue and Southwest, neither of which go to SFO. However Jet Blue only flies out of LGB (Long Beach). A great airport, but if you are coming from UCLA, maybe a little too far away at rush hour to get too in a reasonable fashion (Go Go Gadget 405 on a friday afternoon). Anyway getting to the Khan from OAK is an hour and a half via BART and roughly $6.25 each way ($2 for AirBART and $4.25 for regular BART) Although we could pick you up, but that would take us roughly an hour each way with traffic that time of day and $3 of bridge tolls.

Let your conscience be your guide my friend.

Rude Dog: That is really cool about the release party action. Too bad I will not be in town. I hope it goes down successfully for you. Give us the low down on how it goes for you.

Cool Party!

Wow many congrats Rude! I'd like to come and will let you know if I can definitely make it! Maybe I can bring Elrock along too - he's supposed to be visiting one my lectures at UCLA so maybe we can just carry on from there... well, with some random game time inbetween or somethin.' Anyway, just an idea - Aeryk?

As for BoobyCon, I've prereg'd and though I don't have a flight yet, I'll have one soon, so I'm definitely in. Though Aeryk is of the opinion that I can get from end of lecture to flight in less than an hour, I think it is more likely that I'll be arriving about 4 up in SF - but please do let me know where I'm supposed to fly to!

Ok, my lecture today SUCKED - I felt so embarrassed, especially since its one of my favourite topics... doh! Glad you missed this one Eric!
