Haylee's got some big eyes,
SEE, the JOY about having kids is... well... um... k. I got nothin'. That's cuz i haven't had one yet but regardless, congrats on the doppleganger! (two blue and two grey to cast)
On baldness note: I didn't remind you all throughout math class, ur talking about Gesualdis class. I think I mentioned it ONCE! talk about a selective memory. What about all the days I didn't talk about it?!?! =D
So art, i feel your pain, I'll go skin when it gets truly bad, but the debate is at what point it gets bad...
sleep on that one!

Yay for a little Hess-ling!
Sleep now, while you can. Seriously. No matter how much people told me (us) that it would be so, it never really sunk in completely. And how. The thing that gets me is we have a kid that pretty much sleeps through the night with the occaisonal blip here and there for teething, growth spurts, colds, diaper rashes, food sensitivities.. that I can't even imagine the level of sleepless stupor we'd be in if she wasn't so. Ugh. So.. sleep. A lot. Enjoy the lucious, velvety goodness that is unconsciousness at your whim. That being said.. there's just absolutely nothing as cool as being a parent. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Speaking of, Haylee is taking her first steps right now.. she'll probably be fully mobile by the time you get here next month. Frightening, eh?
I think the moment of truth for me was that first night in the hospital when it was just the three of us and Haylee was in her little hospital-provided basinet thingy and I couldn't handle her having to sleep alone on her first night in the world. Took her out of there and held her while she slept until the expected first poop occurred (this is about 3-4am):
Uh oh.
Damn.
I don't know how to do this and I don't want to screw it up!
(Do I wuss out and call a nurse for help?)
Ergh.
*sigh*
Well, I guess there's no time like the present to figure this out.
Just do the best you can.. you can do this.
Find a towel.
Get some water.
And a diaper.
...proceed to clean baby up as best as possible and fumble nervously like a rookie with diaper...
Well, there. Diaper #1 of 10,342 complete and I didn't wake up the wife or call a nurse. Natural 20, baby. Natural 20.
=)
Aaaaaaaron:
We're all getting old, my man. Shit, I think my hair is starting to fall out even. Thanks, grandma. Oh well. When/if it gets to the point where it looks like I'm hiding something, I'll go shave-o-riffic. Maybe I'll be scary goatee guy.
Jon:
Insert Tab A in Slot B. Wait until significant other starts getting overly emotional or catch them eating weird shit (pickles and brownies.. seriously!) Pee on stick. Wait nine months. Congratulations, you're now a full time baby sitter!

You're thinking too small Aaron. I taught J & Y's kid to play HeroScape and he's only four -- I'm sure Eric's kid will have even more gamer genes! What's really important is to get Curt Schilling to record the ASL rules on tape, and then play them incessantly to Leslie's stomach.
My God, it is fucking hot in my house. Like 80 degrees. It is usually like -80.

Sweet!
Wow. Congratulations Elzar. You have a little Elzar bot in the making. That is really cool. Tell Leslie I said congratulations too. I think no age is too early for a little gaming warm-up. Maybe a little checkers and cards at about 4. D&D by 7 and ASL by 9. Could have a gaming prodigy if masterfully calculated. Of course the day the child says your games are stupid is the day you cry like Richard had his wizard eaten by a toad.
By the way Elzar: Damn your old.

Action Team: The Next Generation
Haylee will have some company in about 7 months because Leslie is pregnant! Hooray! The little varmint is only 8 weeks along, which means technically we are not out of the woods just yet (12 weeks is the Official Old Wives Tale age) but considering just how sick Leslie has been, I think this one is gonna take! So, there you have it! Another young and fertile mind to warp, twist, and mold into the perfect next generation of Heathen Rastafarian Animal Wargaming Surf/Hockey Computer Nerd Punk-ass Kid!
I wonder how young I can teach 'em ASL or Blood Bowl?

Still looking good for LV hockey, absolutely. You sure you don't want to crash here at our place? We'd sleep in Haylee's room and you'd have a huge king sizer all to yourself (unless your other half is coming with..?) I'll run the extra ticket past Michelle, and I'm pretty sure she'd be in for that (she loves hockey).. The grandfolks would likely be very happy to watch bebe for a night.
Ryan making it? Or, is that the extra ticket? You want to just chill out Saturday-day, or make bigger plans? How many questions can I ask in one post?

The weekend prior to Turkey Day is going to be a near certain "no" for me as we've got family driving in that weekend to avoid actual T-day traffic jams. Yes, it's kind of bizarre.. but it is what it is. As for the game, put me down for a not-probable but with a slight chance for attendance. Just let me know for sure when you absolutely have to know by and hopefully we'll have a better handle on our schedules and fundage and whatnot. Michelle starts teaching tomorrow morning, so our new "schedule" will get its first stress test. I'll be Mr. Mom all day until about 3pm or so, and then I have classes from 6-9pm Monday through Thursday. Yeehaw.
Wish me luck. Heh..

So Hot...
Ugg, my skin is en fuego. Stupid skin. Stupid sun. I have not been sunburn in a long time. ANyway, moving on... Fuck my ears are so hot!
Gencon. I am all in.
Sharks. I am all in.
Rude: Are you still playing the WoW? David joined a new server and wanted to know if you were on that server. I dont remember which one he was on. Which one are you playing on?
Elzar: The game sounds cool. Tell us how the play test goes. I will run Gencon by the meatball. He expressed a lot of interest in Gencon back in May. This time he will have wheels, so he should be able. I do not know if johnny is able to. He seemed to think he would not be able to come when we talked about it a few weeks ago. I wouldn't plan on him, but if he showed up that would be great. I also think WFRP at the con would be sweet. So would True Dungeness Crab be fun. I am sorry we missed it last year.

Double Header of Sorts
I called the box office and it is infact a double header of sorts. There will be an AHL game before at like 2pm, and then the Kings/Sharks game. I should have asked when I was on the phone, and maybe I will call back, but I'm guessing it's a Monarchs/Barons game before, which are the King and Shark minor league affiliates, so in essence since it is training camp, it is a double header. I'm in, regardless.
As for GenCon, excellent news!
Eric - In.
Jon - In.
Denis - Probably in.
Aaron, Art, Rudy, Johnny - ???

Oh man, I'm always up for GenCon. Ink me in, ya. Might as well go ahead and get the room so's it'll be cheap.
Playing Warhammer at the last con was really awesome -- we should really do it again, maybe even devote two days to it so we can encounter and perhaps even overwhelm some opposition.
Your minis game sounds cool Eric. Let me know how the test run goes, I will add ideas as I come up with them. Right now I am numb in the brain. After the commute I have, two days off is not enough.
Update: Ye Sharks
Guys -- any more thoughts on getting together to see the game on the 18th? I looked on the Sharks site and it looks like it's only one game (at 5:00). Tickets seem to be about thirty bucks for nosebleed seats which seems more reasonable than the $75-$180 that the ticket brokers are asking. I'll buy the tickets if you guys are interested. It'd be cool. Eric, you could marvel at my clean bathroom and new, flowery living room furniture! Or alternatively, Aaron's tidy, tastefully-decorated apartment!
