Well, the family just sprang for DSL, so I've been having a jolly old time rediscovering the Internet. Now I can finally check out all those links you guys post!

These are depressing times. Some chick at work sent an email around containing a link to a bunch of screen captures from the Nicholas Berg beheading.

Nexpoint Rules Again

Looks like good old Nexpoint strikes again. Jon, that is the page you get when your root web directory is wiped. What a bunch of incompetent fools. How much do you want to bet they don't have a tape backup of the data either.

Bortz
Hey Eric, any idea wha' happened to the 10d6 blog? Yesterday it wasn't up, now it comes up with some RAQ bullshit.

I hate the new Blog format

Now, new and improved clunky. Why can't they just leave the old design alone. It worked fine. ANyway...

Elrock, I feel the same way fromtime to time. I find that read the news can be a bit of an ambiguous event. On one end, I really want to know what is going on, but sometimes when I do I just wish I hadnt found out. Ignorance is truly bliss. Certainly, there is a huge parallel between the cold war and the war on terrorism and the direct effects upon our liberties. I really dont see any of these things changing soon either. The entire political arena is way off base of what it should be concentrated on. Like improving foreign policy and making allies, not more enemies. We have plenty of those. Right now, I think issues at home are much more important then the self-righteous acts of 'liberation' (read defending oil interests). But who is listening? Not the politicians in power. It will take time but eventually the American public will wake up and smell the coffee. Democracy works, you just have to motivate the public and get them to the polls.

Stupid Florida. stupid south. stupid mid-west. stupid church.

F This Country's Gov't

A quote from the father of the beheaded US civilian in Iraq:

The interviewer asked, "Do you really blame Donald Rumsfeld for your son's death? And will you do anything in addition to that lawsuit you had filed?"

Michael Berg responded, "It goes further than Donald Rumsfeld. It's the whole Patriot Act, it's the whole feeling of this country that rights don't matter anymore because there are terrorists about.

"Well, in my opinion 'terrorist' is just another word like 'communist' or 'witch,' and it's a witch hunt, and this whole administration is just representing something that is not America, not the America I grew up in."

I'm having a bit of a black moment right now and feel like moving to Canada tomorrow.

Cheers.

PS I don't like our government.

Yesterday I was at this fair in Little Tokyo for about six hours. There were tons and tons of cute, college-age girls. For me, looking at cute girls really starts to suck after a while! It's like eating too much candy... eventually I start feeling sort of sick to my stomach. Does that happen to anyone else?
