Last night I had the pleasure of attending a Ben Weasel concert at the Knitting Factory in LA. Sweet Jesus it was fun. I don't know everyone's opinion on Screeching Weasel here, or if anyone really cares, but it was easily one of the top five shows I have ever been to. One of the original members of SW was there playing guitar, Danny Vapid, and some other guys, but it didn't matter. They played all of my favorite SW songs.
Suddenly I was 18 again, standing in front, getting squished, getting crowd surfed on, and sweated on, pumping my fist in the air and screaming the lyrics. There were so many "old" people there doing the same thing. Really fun.
Ben Weasel hasn't been played in LA for like 20 years. Can't say enough.
On another note, last episode of BSG next week. Can't wait to have all my questions answered, like they claim. Maybe they can tell me why Guyis (sp?) Baltar is such a fuck.

| eLzar likes bones
The Bone blows... just not a good station. Then again, most big radio broadcast suck balls. Usually, 70% bad commercials, 40% retarded radio personalities that liked to hear themselves talk, 50% crap pop music, 14% perspiration, 8% ball sucking and <1% good music.
BTW eLzar, if you beg real nice I might be able to get you a tour of the Bone radio station. Wouldn't that be great?
Rude: I can not say that I have played Peggle. I haven't picked up a game since December. Maybe jr0n has.

| Satire? I think not... I think.
This article would be just as much at home on this weird religious/culture/life site as it would The Onion.
While I am 90% sure the author is being sincere, it is so bad it actually reads like an amateur beat writer for The Onion.
It is worth a read because it is honestly very challenging to determine where this guy is coming from and if he really believes his statements are true. It is just so ridiculous...

| I am in heck
Right now I am being subjected to the morning show of some radio station called "Bone Radio". Between hilarious gaffes and prankcalls about sleeping with various callers wives and the ensuing bleeped censorship fest, the songs have been Metallica: Enter Sandman and Free: Alright Now. They just gave away 2nd row tickets to Lynyrd Skynyrd...
Kill me.
I just heard that you can listen to this garbage on 1077bone.com. I am not going to link to it because I hate it.
Kill me again.
UPDATE: This prank call is part of a 'thing' they do called "Dirty Friday". Golden.
UPDATE: A hilarious joke commercial for Weedies. Get it, not Wheaties. "The breakfast of cannibis." The joke is that Michael Phelps smoked weed and was on a Wheaties box, therefore, Weedies. Double-Golden.

| This Kobold will Help Us Find the Earth!
Saturday was a stellar game day. I really enjoyed playing 4th ed and hope you guys did too! My feeling is, I have now engaged enough with the tactical side of the system, to let it fade into the background and focus more on the RPG side of things and allow the unique role playing goodness to really shine forth. 3rd level or bust!
I'm really glad you liked BSG Aeryk. I agree that it is a lot of fun and it will be stellar at Kubla. Don't get overexcited and burn out on it like you did with Arkham Horror! Love it, but don't smother it. (Imagine that you are a woman with large boobs, and your man likes boobs. Stay with the boob size you have! If you got a boob job to get bigger boobs, you could smother your man with your boobs.) It plays 3-6 but I think the game group's consensus after several plays was that it was best with five.
Personally, I feel like the premise of BSG is straightforward enough that I "get it" without having to watch the show:
- All the humans are on the spaceship.
- There also another, smaller spaceship, but nobody ever goes to it.
- Once in a while a human spontaneously mutates into a Cylon. I think this is a parody of evolutionary theory by the writers.
- Where is the robot dog? In the expansion.
- Asian chicks and long-haired lotharios are more likely to be evil.

| BSG: The Boardgame
Jon, Enron and I played this game for my first time Saturday night, and I fear that I am getting overly excited about it and that it will be a bright shining start that fizzles too early, but I gotta say I have not stopped thinking about it since playing it and want to play it all the time!
It hits the perfect sweet spot for me between co-op play, wargame, resource management, THEME, THEME, THEME, and the ever important traitor element.
Being a fan of the series, this game is like playing an amalgamation of the shows in a fun, and yet unpredictable way. I have no clue as to how Jon must look at the game and all the theme having never seen an episode before. While explaining the rules, Jon said, "And for some reason, here is this 'Cobol' card. Apparently, this is where we are trying to go?".
I think this game will be an absolute blast at Kubla and think this single game is reason enough for Ryan to make the trek up north!
