| I won!

what... 15 years going to the cons? Never placed in anything. Won at the "Endeavor" tournament and placed 1st place at a game I've never even played. 10 dealer bucks to boot. I wasn't planning on buying anything, but looks like i just got mad gaming skillz. Still at a huge loss, minus 50 bucks for not preregging, minus 20 bucks for valet parking, minus 10 bucks for a measly sandwich. still awesome though as my name will forever be etched in the strategicon guidebook. +1 level

Also met with some interesting folks that invited me to join them around the Thousand oaks area. I might actually see what theyre about.

Dragon Age GOTY edition: Oct. 12.

I have to get back to that game and finish it. I only got halfway through it before getting distracted.

| game I'm running at next man-con:

Alright, ordered Ravenloft. Read enough fun stuff about it, I think I'll enjoy my time with it. I'll wrangle up Dennis and Peter for some games once it arrives.

I loved the demo to Limbo, but it will be on sale in 6 months or something and I'll get it then. For $15 bucks I will buy a thousand Steam games on this weekends sale (that I'll never play.) Speaking of which, I gifted some of you guys a copy of Plain Sight because it was $1.50 in the 4-pack. It's fun and I got my $1.50's worth.

| Limbo

Equals Bad-Ass. So worth the 1200 gold crowns or whatever it costs. Great experience, great ending.
I have the PS3 version of DragonAge if you want it! It's been on sale thru Steam, just hang in there, it'll be cheap again. They might be doing crazy labor day sales, so scope it out. Brah.

| Mas Que Updates

- Had a blast playing Dungeonquest! Yes, we started drinking at 9.30am I think so by the time Dungeonquest at noon rolled around, we were totally in the mood. The combat system SEEMED cool, and I THINK I can remember how it worked but while a little bit tipsy it made no sense. Also good to know that some players of the game will never make it past the first time while in the catacombs (Mike) just like the old days!

- I hooked up my XBox to my monitor and downloaded Limbo! I couldn't stop thinking about it after leaving jr0ns place. Lots of fun!

- I REALLY REALLY want to get Dragon Age and start up a role-playing game, but still don't wanna pay $29.99 for it. Anyone have an XBox copy they wanna give up for cheapz? :)

- Castle Ravenloft looks pretty fun. Heard mixed reviews so far, but it can be played legitimately solo so I am intrigued. Anyone played it yet?

- I'll put an order in with you Rudy (and Denis?) for coolstuffinc.com! I'll have it delivered to my house, then you guys need to just road trip it on up to get your stuff... of course we will then have to play the games you ordered while you are here for the weekend.

Check out this game that's coming out on Steam on Sept 10th:
Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale
You play a girl who's forced to run an Item Shop for adventurers due to your dad skipping out on a loan. You also get to dungeon crawl with different characters. The demo is fun and it's so different, I'm looking forward to picking it up.

These two guys on the Something Awful forums wanted to get into the game industry doing localization of japanese games, so they contacted the makers of Recettear (sounds like Racket-Tear) and licensed the game to do the localization and publishing of it here in the states. It's an interesting story, and these dudes were able to get Steam and a couple of other online places to put it out, so this should be pretty successful for them.

Mount & Blade: Warband is still on sale... I thought it was just for the weekend but it's still $10.20 today... I love it. Realistic sword chopping n' shit... http://store.steampowered.com/app/48700/
Hey Dennis (or whoever is local) - do you want to go in on an order of game stuff from http://www.coolstuffinc.com/? I want to pick up DungeonQuest for cheap ($40ish) but you need to spend $100 for free shipping. I might pick up another game as well, but if you're interested, let me know. No rush.

| DungeonQuest is so fun

The Adventures of Hugo the Glorious

Game 1: Hugo the Glorious was pursued by a shade for most of the adventure. Despite that, he got some sweet loot in the dragon's lair, including the precious Harp of Tranquility. Unfortunately, the doors slammed shut on him two spaces from the exit and he was no doubt killed horribly by the dragon.

Game 2: Hugo the Glorious decided to take a "shortcut" through the catacombs and was instantly bedeviled by traps, monster ambushes, rats, and poor-quality torches. He emerged near the dragon's lair, then promptly fell back into the catacombs through a trapdoor. Unfortunately, the fall was fatal.

Game 3: Hugo the Glorious bumbled through a series of cave-ins and trapped rooms before deciding to try the catacomb "shortcut" again. Although he rapidly found an exit, it placed him nowhere near the dragon's lair but instead right near one of the dungeon exits. Mulling over his options, he decided the handful of coins he'd found looting corpses and crypts was enough for him and bolted. Upon exiting, a mocking bottle imp granted the ashamed adventurer another handful of coins. Total loot: 510.
Mount And Blade:Warband is awesome, especially for $10 bucks. The first M&B doesn't have multiplayer, so just get Warband if you're interested. Warband is basically the original game with improvements and the addition multiplayer. It's a bit janky on the controls side, but it's a medieval 3rd person combat game that going for realism. So it's pretty friggen hard. But, it's addictive and the multiplayer is insane because there are servers with like over 100 people in them and there's times when the chaos of the mounted combat is just overwhelming. Makes you think "fuck, people really fought this way.." - Look it up on YouTube - it's no AAA-title, so it might not be your thing. I think it's a blast though. $10 bucks this weekend, but remember, just get Warband and not the original.
What's the deal with Mount & Blade?

Been looking around at previews for the new WoW stuff, and the way they've reworked all the zones looks really cool. I'm kinda fired up!
