GO Kings, GO!
I have wanted to try GO for quite a while, but I have not had an opportunity. Same thing with Mahjongg. GO is supposed to be a more wide open strategy game much like chess, but even more open. Moving on… I am done with the ten days of working fun. What does that mean? Backlogged Laundry & errands. D'oh!
Eric I hope you do not have what I had. Awful shit. It took so long to get over. I felt like shit the whole time. I still have a little tickle in my throat just a little bit every so often. A few friends & family in LA seem to have had the same thing and they all fought with it for 2-3 weeks. Blah! Jon, it is good to hear that you are having a good time in Hawaii. Maybe we will not see Jon for a long while. Other news… Carrie’s boyfriend, Houston broke his neck, Top vertebrae (C1). His ass is very lucky; he will only end up with a halo for 6-12 weeks. I guess he was at the beach and unknowingly dove into a sand bar.

go
sorry for all the posts! here's a really really interesting cool article on the game GO from the LA Weekly (its a few years old but very cool.) here!
Go may be a confusing game, but it’s also what’s known as "a game of perfect information." Unlike poker, or Scrabble, there are no hidden data in Go. So that somewhere out there in the ethereal realm of mathematical game theory, there exists a perfect way to play.
sounds cool- i've never played it but it sounds like it might be a fun game to try out!

jon, I'm not even going to complete your perverted fantasies by soliciting a response from me. =) Whatever your thoughts are, mon ami.... c'est non. Although, in the grand scheme of things... sigh... You know your old when this shit bothers you, concience wise.
Alrigth, so more important issues. Jon, u got leyed? cool man! Score! don't tell me you and janice are a couple now? Good stuff... she's a sweet gal.
Actually I just realized I don't have anything important to write and no funny link to post.

Funny Link
This is the funny link.
- RDub and I are going to see Iron Maiden at the Long Beach Arena, Monday August 25th if anyone wants to come...
- I saw the Norse vs. Orc game last night b/w Jael und Rael. Brutal. I'm scared to play either team with my poncey humans!
- I have the plague now too. I don't think that it is the Enron plague, but regardless, I took a huge nostril drag/sniff this morning and almost vomited from the amount of chunks that I drew into the back of my throat (that is sore). When I spit out said chunks, the mass was an amusing amalgamation of brown and yellow phlegm (i'm guessing), hard and crusty bits and large chunks of blood/scabs. I felt much bettar afterword however, though I am still sick.
- Sounds like Hawaiian food is like the Hawaiian food they sell at Back Home at Lahaina. Huge plates of meat with rice, cabbage, and macaroni salad for about $5.00. I have my doubts that Jon will ever return from Hawaii....

Mango, crater, spam, blog
Having an especially excellent time in Hawai'i. I met Jordan and Yukari at the airport and got lei'd (har), and am now staying with Janice in her marvelous, rent-free, two-room apartment. It's been pretty great so far. In just a couple of days I have picked up a decent tan (as well as shedding off the remnants of the hideous burn I got at the Iron Man), eaten many plate lunches, and gone on a pretty cool hike up the Diamond Head crater.
The crater hike takes about 45 minutes and goes up an old path established by the military pre-WWI. The army used the crater for its full view of the south side of the island and placed artillery emplacements there (although they were never used). Most of the hike is up a trail, then you go through a narrow pitch-black tunnel, then you go into another tunnel which contains a pitch-black, very narrow, steel spiral staircase. Going up the stairs with tons of (mostly Japanese) people elbowing past you on the way down, in the dark, was an experience.
People here are into pretty huge meals. For $5-$6 you get huge plate lunches with massive amounts of one or more types of meat (generally barbequed), a couple big scoops of rice, and macaroni salad. Macaroni salad is everywhere in this state. I am looking forward to being over 300 pounds when I return.
The women here are amazing-looking, especially if you're into females of the asian persuasion. There are just mind-bogglingly gorgeous island girls almost everywhere. I haven't seen any Hawaiian Tropic girls yet, but I will post promptly when I do.
Hey Johnny, did you make your church sweetie see Jesus?

Gotta go BACK in TIME!
Super-rad article on Time Travel at Wired, HERE. Sounds like it'd be fun!
Me and Jael had a brutar BB match tonight- even though he freaked out that I took a WHOLE 5 MINUTES one turn (my comp froze up for like a min), it was still fun. Final score: 0-0 ! DOH! Remath will be painful!
ALSO: With the new 6.1 patch, looks like you can hire Star players, whatever the fuck that means!!!
-I just got a giant e-boner

Charlies Angels
Went to see charlies angel last night! I was pretty reluctant to watch that movie at first, but i was strongarmed into watching it. Surprisingly, I actually liked the movie. I think part of the reason was probably because I went with some teens from church. I remember back in the days I wasn't so critical of movies and just took them for what they are.
In this case, we all know that I was in for a movie filled with ridiculous Digital pixelized action scenes. But taken with a grain of salt, ok... perhaps a couple of loads of salt, I actually found myself enjoying the silly movie. Plus the company I was with didn't care, so why should I? Plus I had a cutie snuggling up against me. wasn't so bad.
It was good...

Ha! I win...
I have yet again out waited Elrock! Rule! Or maybe I was just busy. Day eight in my work-a-thon. Two more days to go. Next two days are going to be insane too. I have to crash course on a couple of terminals before the guy I am replacing leaves. In other news, I have an irrataing cough that will not go away. It is better than it was on monday, but the tickle of death still persists. Especially in the evenings. D'oh. I have tried two different cough syrups and they dont do she-ite. Grrrr!
Alright eric, in the 'puters for friends building business. Welcome to the slave customer service program. Ryan, just incase you don't know, it is perfectly acceptable to call Elrock anytime, day or night for tech support. In fact he will have to give you a beeper number. As far as the Kings are concerned.. I bet he is the "top 6" forward. Much like the other clowns they have tried to convince were the great hope for the team, only to find they suck. AKA over the hillers, never will be's, disgruntled in LA's, or otherwise just plain shite until we trade them and they go enfuego!
Ben and Amber pregnant? Scary.
Jon, I really like the Mug. Nice
Off to Linner

To Blog or Not to Blog
I thought I could hold out for as long as it took Enron to blog again, but to no avail. I have fallen in the face of blog adversity. Let's see, whats new or newsworthy:
- I'm building RDubs new computer (basic system for email, wordprocessing, and Internet) and I told him that the computer will handle what he wants it too, and maybe even play some games (Medal of Honor, etc.). He said, "Cool. As long as it will play Blood Bowl, thats all I need".
- I have been busy with work/wedding shenanigans and unmotivated due to extreme heat in my house, and have not blogged or played anyone at BB in a while, my apologies.
- Nice balloting system, and VERY nice remix site. I think I am going to order the HSS/SS parallel t-shirt. Or mug. I'm keeping my options open.
- Surfing ruled on 4th of July. Top 3 days EVAR for me. So many waves, such great waves, and it was actually pretty crowded in front of my house, but I was still kicking ass and taking all the waves I could handle. I was parked at the perfect spot in the lineup, and moved as the break moved. One dolphin spotted. Truly a wonderful day, no Iron Man, but lots of surf, sun, bikes, BBQ's, some beer and lots of fun.
- The Kings signed Trent Klatt. I hope that they don't think this is the top 6 forward that they promised us this off season....
- Enron, you there?
- Noticed that the Mango Raiders have finally passed the Aldorf Arsenal in team rating... perhaps a rematch? Also noticed the Norsemen have yet to lose, nice!
- Hmmm... what else.... Anyone want to go to Comic Con and play in the Blood Bowl tournament? In San Diego, and I have no idea which weekend. Maybe this one?
- Mike?
- Ben and Amber Winter are pregnant. Ole' One-Nut seems to have done his job with the assistance of fertility pills. Benji with a kid. Weird. I remember playing air/tennis racquet guitar with that guy when the song Danger Zone came on the radio as well as skateboarding to Jr. Guards with that guy in Hermosa when we were C's. Couldn't have been older than 10 maybe? And now a kid... and probably me to follow in the next few years as well.... sheesh, I'm old!
- 28 Days Later was an experience. I can't say it had much of a story, but most zombie movies don't. I mean, there was character development (a bit), locations, conflict, resolution, etc., but still, I wouldn't recommend it for the story aspects. There were some good visuals, some interesting ideas, some stellar shot excecutions, and definately dead on mood altering spots. The scary parts were scary, the brutal parts SUPAR brutal. They did something right because I was uncomfortable thoughout the whole movie. And for once, my seething hatred for people who bring a) crying babies to horror movies and b) cell phones that ring during the movie, actually worked in the movies favor by making me even more uncomfortable and angry and emotional during the flick.
GRADE: B+

That's one of them Ha-WAI-an Burger Joints
So, my car is fucked, my job sucks, the only game my friends play these day I'm not fond of, every movie I've seen recently has been disappointing, I didn't win the Iron Man, I'm sunburned, and President Bush is beloved by the nation.
Fuck it, I'm going to Hawaii!
The news stresses me out, I've put a few pounds back on, it now takes 88 hours to drive from LA to SF, and me and Enron feel the sad urge to justify our anal sex by claiming there were women photographers, so it was totally straight.
Fuck it, I'm going to Hawaii!
Yes sirs, tomorrow morning I am off for a couple weeks of fun in the sun/moist, warm rain. I hope my plane doesn't explode and I don't get kidney stones a la Jason or something, and that there isn't a massive volcanic explosion! But I'll be able to let you know about any of these things because I'll have pretty good access to email. I'll try to blog a few times.
Anyway, whenever I go off on a trip I get kind of freaked-out and nervous about the plane ride ("Bonjour!" ... BOOOM!), so wish me luck/not death! Or not, as you prefer.
My flight's early in the morning and I'm so amped up I seriously bet I won't get a wink of sleep. Oh well!
Love, Ragnaringtong
PS Be sure to finance my trip by buying LOTS OF LUNCHBOXES from the Ragnar shop! Remember, I make 0 cents on every transactions! I'm a good business man!

coolage!
Rad ragnar-gear! That christmas story you had made was quite the classic! Also, congrats on the iron contest! I went to grade school with Casey- so proud to see how far hes come. You guys remember Mike Sneathern? That dude's now the Attorney for the Milwauke Bucks. Not as cool as Casey's accomplishment, but still pretty sweet. Seagal! Awesome review- I started a forum thread at the Van-Damme page @ IMDB.COM saying: WHO WOULD WIN IN ULTIAMTE BATTLE: SEAGAL OR VAN DAMME! And the best response was "Seagal is only a threat to a buffet." Heh.
Oh man, I had a friend who drove up to SF on Saturday morning- took em 5 hours to get there! Straightaways on the 5. It'll prolly take them 5.5 hours to get back! Maybe we hyped up the traffic just a bit.
