ya man, i'm always game! except when I'm NOT! ohhh moded.

Eric, check out Giant Bombcast - it's good pretty normal video game podcast but this weeks was fuckin HILARIOUS - they just went on some GI Joe tangents that were great. But the whole thing is good, very solid show.

edit: Dollhouse is the SHIT! IF you gotta watch that for your work its the best job ever!!!! I still gotta watch the last bsg tonight so don't spoiler it gang, thanks.
I bet Peggle is cool and all, but you know what would be even more fun to play? Left 4 Dead, the fucking awesome, cooperative game that inspired me to get an Xbox Live account.

Aeryk! Resubscribe to Live! You can have my free month if you want it!

Enron! Get the damn game!

Rudy, you're doing good, stay the course bud.

| Peggle and Galactrix gots me by the balls!

Yeah.

I just tried Peggle tonight and had a lot of fun, so I picked up the full xbla version. Pretty colors, rather humorous, fun gameplay, challenging, and a bag of chips. I head the guys on Gamers With Jobs Podcast talk about it all the time, and along with Rudy's non-Eric-directed suggestion to purchase it, put it over the top for me. I recommend!

Puzzle Quest: Galactrix is simply more of the same with more features, which is both good and bad. Lots more mandatory puzzles, more customizations, and the main battleboard/puzzle board is certainly more challenging with more ways to manipulate the puzzles. I recommend, although if you thought PQ I was monotonous, maybe don't pick this up. If you are a glutton for the same punishment again and again (I'm looking at you Denis with your 18 different Night Elf Hunters all doing the same quests and same skills...) this is a fine diversion from everyday life.

One more thing. One of my dreams is about to come true. I suspect somebody else here shares that dream. Yes I'm looking at you Jon.

My waifu

Watch the video!
Jon, I'm sure you'll be happy to hear I'll be carrying on the tradition of self mutilation and loathing. There's a good chance we'll be working on Dollhouse. You will always be with us in spirit. Yay...

That was pretty awesome. And there was even a Poseidon reference! You know, I try to avoid this guys skits cuz mostly I think he's sorta unfunny, but when I do see stuff it's usually fairly charming.

Dollhouse man, she's horrible as always but I'm telling you, it's total Whedon if you're into that shit. Takes a few episodes to pick up but you can already see where it's sorta going - I don't know how they'd SUSTAIN the direction they're taking for more than a season, but you never know (and it's on FOX so we won't get past 1 season anyhow.) Totally fun!
Art: I didn't know you were expecting a second critter either. You're getting a whole desert clan out there! Best of luck to you. I think you should start naming the kids after GWAR characters, starting of course with The Sexecutioner.

Rudy: re Dollhouse, I had to suffer through the entire first season of Tru Calling multiple times when I was doing DVD testing. That was the second worst show I have ever seen in my life and I will never ever voluntarily watch anything with that hag in it again. Same thing with Dark Angel and Jessica Alba: I don't care how hot other guys think she may be, I look at that vapid face and see nothing but months of my life down the drain.

This was amusing to me: take a good, hard look at the muthaf***in' boat!

| I watchez teh wathcmen

I enjoyed it. The beginning was stupendous, GREAT first 45 minutes or so. You may have heard that the opening credits are a montage of the history of superheroes and how their fortunes fall over time. It's really well-done, great visual storytelling. After that the movie is kind of up and down, but generally solid. Rorschach is perfect, Dr. Manhattan seems weird at first but he grew on me as the movie went on, and Nite Owl and Latex... uh, Silk Spectre are really good too (and her mom is good as young Silk Spectre 1, but her old-age makeup is horrible).

There were really only two things I didn't like so much. One, I think they fumbled the ball in casting Ozymandius. The actor certainly comports himself well in the fight scenes, but I just couldn't reconcile his appearance and voice with what I imagined for the character. I also thought that the last 30 minutes in general were a little weak. Not so much because of the one big change they made but because everything seemed hurried and a little underexplained. This is one place where I'm really waiting for the extended cut they're talking about on DVD. I think if the ending were tighter then we would be talking about a classic. As it is, it's an honorable try, may drastically improve in other cuts. I would say it definitely is worth your time and $ to see in the theater.

(Note: I should disclose, my gf really liked the movie a lot, more than I did. She thought the ending was just fine.)
Wow, didn't know you guys were expecting another kid Art, congrats! Here's to a smooth delivery, what's the boys name gonna be? I'm hoping Guyver. Guyver Nitchesky.

Ryan: You suck. I went to some political fashion show that ended at like 8 last night and I just came home. I woulda loved to go to see Screeching Weasel. Thanks for the headsup.

TV: I'm on the 2nd to last episode of BSG so gonna watch that right now. Also, Lost has been excellent this season (although they took this week off for some reason) and 24 has been torturastic as usual. Goddamn bleeding hearts!

Never did see Watchmen - anyone else? I've heard mixed but mostly positive things from people who read the comic. I don't know, I'm not super compelled to see it in the theater. DVD for sure.

| T-Minus ...

Baby is large.

Doc is estimating around 24 inches and 9 pounds, and we technically still have 8 days until the due date. They may induce this week if labor doesn't start by itself. Awesome possible dates: This Tuesday, St. Patrick's Day. Or, a week from today would be MY birthday. Or rather, the day that we used to call my birthday. I figure either way, my birthday is going to cease to exist with the boy being born within days of the same date. I don't really care that much, but I thought it an interesting realization that forevermore my birthday will be about someone else.

I think we have the 'nest' as complete as it can be at the moment. Michelle is at least a little less manic and crazy about 'things we need' before the baby comes. Swing, check. Two pack and plays, check. Bottles, diapers, clothes sorted by age, boxed, folded, packed, labeled, weeeeeeee

Haylee is doing great. She continues to amaze me with how smart she is, which is equal parts being proud and feeling like an ass that I underestimate her. We were driving yesterday and she says.. DADDY.. that red octagon says S.. T.. O.. P.. ! LOL.. I looked at her like she was a martian for a second. "How do you know that? WHO DO YOU WORK FOR?" The future question is.. with this state being dead last in education, do we risk putting her into public schools here? Ugh. Wish we could live.. well.. just about anywhere else. Hey, speaking of..

The job is killing me... slowly. Working 11-16 hours a day and generally not taking any breaks or lunches means I'm completely stressed the F out but I'm also losing weight.. lots of weight. When I started, I was feeling pretty comfortable and healthy at 230 lbs or so. I actually dipped down below 200 lbs for the first time since.. hell.. I don't even know, maybe high school era. All of my clothes are falling off of me. Ugh. I've been buying shit food to eat just so I get as many calories as possible into my system. I ate an entire bag of Albertsons chocolate chip cookies in one day just to try to add calories.. lulz.. 2300 calories in one bag.

Awesome.

Apologies for not posting more, calling more. I feel like I'm in some kind of time warp. The days are all blending together and going by so frigging fast. I can't believe it's the middle of March (and 2009) already. WTF!

Ok, well, back to babying-up the house. Wish me luck.

| Gaius Ball-tard

Ry: Ugggg, Gaius is such a sleazy, infuriating bastard throughout the entire series. Some of the decisions he makes just drives me to frustration. At first I just thought he was a brilliant, social retard. I changed my opinion as the series went on. If I were around that man in that situation, I would have killed him at least ten times over. I hope the writers are able to wrap it all up nicely without some frustratingly incomplete ending like the Sopranos series.

Screeching Weasel is great. I never had a chance to seem them play in concert. That's pretty sweet you were able to see at least part of the band play. I went to a BR show a few months ago, and it was excellent. The concert reminded me of how awesome it is to feel the rush of the Punk show again. The pit, the crowd, the energy, the shedding of pent up angst; all with a backdrop of an old musical friend driving you to pump you up, relax your anxieties and let loose. Enjoy!
