Wow. The first time you watch this, it will be slightly funny and a little nauseating. The second time you watch this, you may pee yourself laughing. Without further adieu, I bring you..

What What? (In the butt)
Vanguard was pushed out the door about 6months to a year too soon, so its supposedly a buggy piece of shit. also, its from the guy who brought us everquest, and is supposedly grind-A-reffic. like, MAJOR grind. And u have to have a bleeding-edge machine to run it decently, so i guess ill never see it. get it tho eric and tells me about it!

im in New York! FUN! Awesome pizza and hot dorgs and i drink at the bar till 4 am!

That letter is the roxxor. I almost wish I could have experienced the level of lame you describe, if only to enhance my level of smug satisfaction of your hammering of their product. It sounds.. so, so bad. Heh.

I just sent the following to True Dungeon in response to some bullshit email advertising their fancy new tokens:

Please unsubscribe me from your list. I've been meaning to write this for a while, but I went through True Dungeon at SoCal GenCon 2005 with some friends and honestly thought it was one of the worst wastes of money and time I've ever been through at a con, and as a long-time gamer, that's saying something. I strongly feel that the treasure tokens are a money-raking scheme that are of little value in the actual scenarios which are, if '05 is anything to judge by, dull, badly thought out, and poorly organized. I would compare the experience of going through True Dungeon to that of going to an expensive strip bar. All build-up, lots of money, and no payoff. As a long-time gamer, I have also been to many strip bars, so I know what I'm talking about here.

It was a particularly disappointing experience because I went through the True Dungeon at the first SoCal GenCon with the same group, and we uniformly agreed that it was a better experience. In that dungeon the rooms had more variety and lots to do. In the 05 dungeon there seemed to be one central puzzle or feature in each room with little side exploration to do. There also did not seem to be much creativity on the part of the DMs or very much usage for our pricey tokens.

Anyway I was let down by the experience. I guess because it's a rather expensive thing to do and such an exciting idea we expected more. We expected fun and laffs and instead we felt ripped off. We all agreed that it would be better in the future to spend the money on lapdances. Actually though I do not go to nudie bars anymore because I am in a long-term, satisfying relationship, so probably instead I would spend the money on Yu-Gi-Oh cards.

But anyway thanks very much for listening.

BGGWTF?

So I got this in my geekmail today:

Subject: dungeons and dragons board games
From: godexodius
----------------------------------------------

thanks man!!

It's like an African email scam, but for board games? The guy is a "new user" on BGG, and is supposedly from Kentucky, but that 'english' has much to be desired. So, whatever, thought it was blog worthy.

Also, anyone heard anything about Vanguard? It's a new MMORPGOMGWTF from SOE. Dunno, might be interesting as a distraction from WoW.

I know none of you homos follows the NFL really, but the NFL combine is coming up where all draftees are measured, tested and all that jazz.. there's this one kid who is 6'4", 235lbs, runs a 4.33 40-yard dash, has a 43" vertical leap.. and is basically an unstoppable force of nature at wide-receiver. Might be the best receiver to come into the NFL in nearly 10 years. I'm really hoping that the Raiders draft this kid, trade Randy 'Mess' and use that pick to grab Marshawn Lynch out of Cal. Check out this short clip of a catch Calvin Johnson made, ridiculous!
