Yeah Myke -- not a doubt in my mind either. Congratulations!
Now we can call ourselves "Dr. Action Team" I guess.

The Ramones Rules
The Ramones' first Rule is: the Laws of Germany. I think they are grossly mistaken. The First Rule should be: Don't get acute muscle spasms in your lower back. I know this should be the first rule because I have the aforementioned malady. It is teh sux. I am a total drugged up invalid. Vicdodin as needed, 800mg of ibuprofin 3 times a day, muscle relaxers that I'm supposed to take 3 times a day that each dosage makes me feel like I took a sleeping pill. And I'm sleeping on the floor. Sweet.
Take care of your backs gentlemen. You only got one, don't take it for granted! Honor thy Backs!

Okay
I have been motivated to work on updating the Actionshots site this weekend. I am a free man this weekend. My Gurl iz outa town. I feel like aturd, it has only been what, a year and a half now. I did the last update a month or so after the big E tied the knot.
J.On: Yeah I have one set of DBA ancients. Spartans I believe. The rules are floating around here somewhere too. They are manufactured by Borgofort Industries. Or Kenner. Or was it Mennen. Or perhaps Xyston.

DBA n ASL
DBA seems real cool. The rules are short and seem simple. The minitures are cool. I bought some, but have not painted them. Boo Aaron.
Advanced Sod Layer: Critics are raving about this groundbreaking game:
"I outfitted an entire 18 hole golf course with Bermuda Green in one week of real time play. It only took me 21,564 die rolls with an average of 17 modifiers chart references per roll. I loved every minute of it"
Bortz F Bortz - Chicago Sun Times
"ASL is vastly superior to an already great original, Sod Layer"
Deez Nutz a Cleeze - Miami Herald Tribune
"Magical. A non-stop thriller from start to finish"
Mexican Hal - Pomentos and Shit Reporter
Seriously Elzar, as much as you used to poo poo the engineers' game o' number crunchin', chart refer'n games in High School and early College, you seem to have made a total about face. That is awesome, cause war simulations are cool. I miss minis and chit strategy sims. Some day I will play ASL. Sorry about the PHP books. I will try and get them down. I keep falling asleep everytime I try to read them. I guess I just have not been in the mood for technical reads.
Ry: That is a dick experience. F the little shits.
Jon: You look like turd in some of the old Strat-con photos. Then again, we all look like doofs in our own ways. Nyarlathotep had a strong presence at the Kooblakhan. Your father sure had a good time at SoCal 2003. Too bad you missed out on the fun. I have to scan a grip of Old Strat photos. Gotta get them out o storage.
Myke Hunt: Send me those images from Koobla.
Fart: Wake up. Send me those damn images already. Fucker.

Brilliant photo gallery Enron. Oh man, some of those pictures had me cracking up. I mentioned most of my favorites over to the left. I didn't even notice any bugs.
I've seen you toting around DBL Eric. A short rulebook does sound nice. Although I wouldn't mind revisiting Warmaster either. Is DBL what you guys all bought the li'l boxes of miniatures for a few years back? Xylon or Cylon or Cythrax or something? The packaging was orange? Enron you have any of those? I know Ja-el does but holy fuck, his miniatures are in Fremont and that place is like totally fucked now.
There's supposed to be a really good minis store in Berkeley. Maybe I'll scope it out. First I'm going to pick up Shadows over Camelot. For some reason I can't stop thinking about it, and not just for their catchy marketing jingle.

Warmaster Ancients or DBA
Warmaster Ancients has just been released, and it is my understanding that 10mm is the scale it is written for. However, GW does not produce historical miniatures, so it would be up to the players which scale to base and play with.
Also, DBA, which is the worlds most popular wargame, can be played in any scale, 15mm is most common it seems, though 10mm or even 6mm would be super cool-- same base size, just more little men on the base! Another cool thing about DBA is that there are only ever 12 units per army I think, and it is played on a 2'x2' board! Any and every ancient army is represented by an army list, and the gameplay is easy peasy. Two companies that I know of make pre-packaged armies in a box, Xyston and Corvus Belli.
I think DBA would be a better place to start up another miniatures foray, non-modern era. Economical, if 6mm EASY to paint, and widely played, easy rules.
And as far as Advanced Curt Schilling Leader, I'm game when you are!

Awesome news Eric. I had no idea Faulkner was working anymore. Glad he got past his alcohol demons.
Some ASL sounds pretty good. I get the chit desire every once in a while. Actually, I'm in a wargaming mood in general. I still want to play Warmachine SOMEDAY... and I was at Games of Berkeley looking through the Warhammer Ancient Battles stuff. What scale does that run in? Yayfun Warmaster scale, or poopy poo WFB scale? A 10mm wargame sounds neat, mostly since they tend to be cheap to get into. Any recommendations? (Pre-modern era is best, for me.)
Oh, there is a strong chance I will be home for about a week in mid-July with a fair amount of free time. Maybe we can fire up ASL then. Are you going to be around?

ASL Hell
This game is dominating all my thought processes right now. I am obsessed with WWII and ASL, in a bad way! So bad infact, I got Denis "If God intended chits to be played with, he would have made them miniatures" Takara to play a game from the starter kit with me, and he didn't hate it! Well, he said that he was not physically ill from playing it, which is a more promising start than most have shooting heroin, so I got that going for me! Which is nice.
Admittedly, there are A LOT of rules for this game when I evenually start playing the full game, but as it stands, it isn't THAT bad. Really.
Aaron: Can you send my PHP books back to me if you are not going to be using them? Or bring them to town sometime soonish?
Everyone: The new As I Lay Dying is AMAZAMAZING! SHAZAAM! Go get it!

A grab bag of goodness
I just got back from being in LA for like 26 hours, for Father's Day. It was lots of fun. Had a carnitas burrito, had an ice blended from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, went to the beach and got a touristy sunburn. Ah, the breasts. I popped like 35 boners. Good times.
I also got some awesome shit that I somehow lef' behind: Mertwig's Maze, The Great Khan Game, Watchmen, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, couple of books, Wizard Kings (super excited about this! why?), Starship Catan, WFRP 1st edition. It's like Christmas in whatever month it is!
