JESUS SAVES (CLICK MEH!)

(hehe..)
HOLY SHIZZ!

Darth Raider? SERIOUSLY?

Question for ya.. do you think you could put the two of us in touch via email or whatever? I'd absolutely love to talk Raider football with the guy and maybe even extend an invitation to my little private Raider oasis discussion forum. You think he'd be put off by something like that, or maybe be cool with the idea?

That's pretty freaking cool, man!
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, but when I was out drinkin' with my friends from work, I learned that one of them -- my former project lead -- is none other than Darth Raider.

Go figure.

Lame, make a good movie worse?

What's up with the spiffy hair-do's and glossy uniforms just doesn't have that feel of the 80's version of the bad news bears?

Ha- I just saw the website sportin the translated revenge of sith, funney. Is that real? With all the crazy photonerds these dayz you can never tell anything on the net.

Anyhow, k guys, I'll be pretty busy the next couple days with work, gift shopping, and shit like that so, I'll tune out of the blog for a while. See you guys when I return, and Jon, r u going to be in the bay area or r u going to be in LBCompton?
Jael,

Congratulations Johnny, that is the last time I will call you Johnny because from now on your name is Jazz. Holy shit. You are brilliant. No motherfucker in the Phillipines is named Jazz, I can guarantee that.

Today was my last day of work. I had an interview on Tuesday, but no idea if I'll get that job or not... so for the immediate future I am back in the unemployment zone. About fifteen of us went out to a bar. It was bittersweet. I really wish I'd been there for more than two months, because it takes me about six weeks to warm up to people... so that just by the time I was getting to know people, it was time to split. Oh well. QA is a fairly small and incestuous community and it's likely that I'll be seeing some of them again.

Enron, you slave-driving motherfucker, I will be happy to sit in your car and drink beers with Francis while you and Aimey haul furniture up to your apartment. I'll see ya tomorrow!
JJ Mc Lee

I think I will now refer to you as J.J. McLee. That was a damn funny post. JJ, I look forward to your presence again in the bay area. Gotta get some gamin' and drinkin' and maybe even we can tackle the lustyand insatiable women of Fremont. BTW JJ, were you drinkin' when you wrote that post. Positively sweet.

Jon I will be movin' on Saturday, depending on how things are going Sunday, maybe we can make a trip down. We will have to see how things pan out for me. The way things are going though I think I am going to want a break. One more night of packing/cleaning until midnight and getting up at 6 for work is going to kill me if I dont get some R&R.

Gotta Go... D>M>
And so there you have it...

I am confirmed on the flight back home on the 27th O Jooly. So i'll be back on the same day. Gonna stay at aarons mamas house... i mean, my mommas house and eat barbeque chicken and fries. It'll be good. I mean good. Then I have to run over the DMV people with my car and get me a license renewal and then i'm mobile. schweet. So i'll see u all when i get back.

Oh, I had a little run in with the Law, apparently my name is common? DUH! but there's a johnny lee running around the philippines flippin off the NBI! So he's shes? the criminal and but since I shared the same moniker, the philipine law forced me to clear it with the beaureau DESPITE the fact that they had no other identifying information ie. Birthdate, SSN. So I guess anyone with the name Johnny Lee better watch the fuck out in the philippines.

Officially when I get back, I'm changing my name to Jazz J. Lee, or just Jazz for short. You guys can call me Jazz cuz you guys are my friends.

Jazz Johnny Lee

Another one bites the dust, possibly to our profit

Enron-count! Apparently the Palo Alto Gamescape is going OOB and everything is on sale for 20-40% off. Feel like laughing as we sift through some storeowner's broken dreams, and running our fingers over our cheaply-gotten goods with sick feelings in the pits of our stomachs? I want to buy some Warmachine minis and maybe some paints.

Also, I am pretty sure I am not going to be working at Leapfrog on Saturday -- or ever again, actually! -- so I'm up for helping with the move.

Elrock/Denis, can I ask one of you guys for a big favor? I am flying into Long Beach on Wednesday night (~7:00) and have nobody to pick me up. I maybe should've factored that into my ticket-purchase decisions. Anyway if one of you guys are free that night and can help me out... maybe I'll invite you to my place for some "Hot Coffee," GTA-style? Or a beer.

There I was.. There I was.. IN the Congo.

Kamping update: Might be just myself in attendance for the actual Kinder Kamp itself, and we may just make a jaunt down to Socal as a family here in the next week or so to visit with peeps. I dunno, we'll see how things shape up in the next couple of days before I'll be able to commit one way or the other for sure.

The Daily Show: The ONLY real news show, as far as I'm concerned. I could do without some of the ultra-crass stuff that is over the top just to be over the top.. but I'm absolutely in love with the bits where they tear apart the lies, deceit and miscellaneous B.S. being spewed from the political machine.

Tivo, part duex: So, our Tivo hard drive died the other day which killed about a half dozen programs I was waiting to burn and/or watch.. FEH. The lame thing about the process is that aparently they only warranty the box for three months, and when you buy a "new" one, it's a refurbished model. How lame is that? It's almost like a guarantee that you'll be screwed and have to buy a new unit every year or two it seems, if they're replacing your botched unit with a repaired-botched-unit for the low-low price of $50 a pop (assuming you'll sign up for a guaranteed 1 year extension to your contract).
Saluti da Pompi

Compliments on the new design - very cool! Though it would be better if the d20 were a Roman one! Pompeii goes well - now that I have to tell people to tell others to dig, I am even further removed from the reason I like to come here - doh! Warm, sunny and generally good weather. Annoying students - as well as a large number of previous students emailing for breakdowns of why they got D's when they failed the class - hmmm, I wonder.

There is a girl here who brought all of the 3.5 edition D&D rules. I made a character last night - booyah, gamers on excavation - strange, but might just work -- MAYBE...

Will be back in better email/blog contact soon - the connection here is rather unreliable.

Wash those balls, Aaron, I'm right outside your window
Yeah, that's right, wash 'em real good

Random bullshit:

-- My girlfriend is reading the Harry Potter book and I'm totally jealous. I guess I could go to any one of the hundreds of local Borders or Barnes & Nobles in the area and buy a copy at a steep markdown but, I'm lazy. So I'll sit here and seethe and read my goddamn adult, sophisticated fantasy book.

-- The other night I partied like it was 1986 and finally watched Big Trouble in Little China all the way through. Best gamer movie ever: every time things are in danger of slowing down, some random monster comes along. John Carpenter is really underappreciated, at least by me. I mean my lord: BTiLC, Escape from New York, Escape from LA, The Thing, Halloween, In the Mouth of Madness... OK maybe he's not Hitchcock but he's definitely... something. I must watch the rest of his oeuvre post-haste.

-- Hard-on for miniatures remains unabated. Find myself fingering the pages of the Warmachine rulebook lustily.

-- Futurama movie coming straight to DVD soon!

American Retards, again

I doubted Mike Mike Motorbyke, and I guess I got what I deserved for doubting a friggin' doctor, but it is true, horribly true, that there are absolute differences between the UK and US version of the Harry Potter book. I feel cheated, particulary after defending the practice to Denis and Ryan last night.

This website has all the differences from the fist five books, and they are more than I ever would have expected. I guess, there really is no room for an inherantly English book to be sold to the US public without Americanizing it first. Wouldn't want there to be any cultural awareness among US citizens, would we? Eh, wot?

So, now I am in somwhat of a conundrum. I like Denis' plan of ording all the books through Amazon UK, and am considering it. I mean, I own all the hardcover US versions, but I feel cheated. Infact, I just finished re-reading HP5 before starting 6, and I had a paperback version I picked up in the UK, and it was very English. It read like it was meant to read. Then I started on 6, it actually felt somewhat flat, like something was missing, and there was, English culture.

So, again, boo to the United States. C'mon, do we really need to change Mum to Mom, shan't to won't, and jelly to Jell-o? While we are at it, Hogwarts School of Wizardry should be changed to The George W. Bush Military and Religious Academy, Harry to Mike, Hermione to Jane, and Spells to Prayers, and Quidditch to football.

So sad. I think I will sell my copy on ebay and get the UK versions. I'm kinda pissed.

Mebortz, boo...

I guess I missed the first time it was posted. sorry for the department of redundency department.

Jahnknee: Gives us the low down when you are coming in. Where are you coming in/staying, etc...

Davinci Code 1,3,9,16,25,36

Yeah, it's a fairly linear read, but It's really the factual based information that Dan writes about thats enticing. It's also a bit propagandish, against the religious faithful, but i'm sure there are a few books out there that outlines the same naturalistic viewpoints. I'll definitely pick up the other books youre mentioning!

Okay! waitlisted on the flight, have not recieved confirmation but 27th *eek* hopefully i'll be getting a flight and i'll be back home. I'm staying for 3 weeks but here's my ten MUST do things list-

1. Take aaron out on a celebration/drinking for his new job. Preferably the night before he starts, then the next day he'll have a hangover and when asked to work, he'll just say "don't feel like doing anything right now". This will also double for the b-day dinner i still haven't dished out!

2. Fix my nose problem

3. Continue the day of million games with Jahohn and friends, Game of thrones, Miniatures, Economic based games that eric hates, Donkey conga

4. Go shopping at the mall for clothes and other necessities so i won't have to dress like my clothes are from high school... wait

5. Settle some bills and shit like that

6. Plan some trips to SF, Brentwood, maybe even Majic mountain or Universal... maybe

7. why does lists always have to be 10 items? think of the rest later
Hay!

Get your own comedy links! Hehe.. It's funny enough to warrant posting two times, anyhow.. FUNNAAAAY.. I especially giggled at the Yoda-speak that didn't seem all that far off.

=)
Oh my lord!

Comedy gold mine: Revenge of the Sith, legitimately translated to chinese and then bootlegged and subtitled back to English. The screenshots of the subtitles are sweet.

(insert witty header here)

Johnny Five: Congratulations, man! There is certainly something exciting about finding yourself a best friend rigged with opposite plumbing... or a matching set, even, if that fits your particular fancy. Hope everything else about your trip to the islands were just as profitable and substantial.

Davinci Code: Great book. Not the tightest of plotlines, but all it's really doing for you is providing the vessel to talk about "the grail" and all that entails.. which is really what makes the book very, very interesting. On that note, "Demons & Angels" by Mr. Brown is a much better plot and another good read, just be prepared to see almost the exact same cast plugged in, just with different names and circumstances. The premise is weaker and slightly less engaging, but it's still a very enjoyable book if you can get past the fact that it's nearly the same book as "Davinci".

On a completely unrelated note: I'm reading through the Gnostic Bible which includes the gospel of Thomas (earliest known gospel, dates back to the first century) which was spotlighted in the movie "Stigmata"... which is a GREAT movie if you haven't seen it. It was billed as sort of a horror flick, which was total bullshit. Anyway.. other apocrypha included in this book are the gospel of Mary (Miriam, really) Magdelene. Magdelene's and Thomas' gospels are really quite moving and really make too much sense to be included in the church's version of the Bible.. which is why Mary got made out to be a prostitute and a whore for the better part of 2000 years, among other things. Anyway.. if you ever get the chance, check out some book that includes these two omitted books. The basic jist is that spirituality and a connection to a higher power is between the individual and that higher power, not between the individual and a corporate entity selling salvation and a heaping pile of intolerance in exchange for cash.

The Backstroke of the West: Chinese bootleg of "Revenge of the Sith" re-subtitled/translated back to english (OMFG FUNNAY!)

The Wedding Crashers: Went to see this yesterday, wasn't expecting much more than a few laughs maybe, and was HUGELY suprised to be gut laughing for a couple of hours. Very very funny movie.

Batman Begins: Another pleasant suprise! If only the last few Batman movies were this good. Bale is no Keaton, but the movie is absolutely a blast, and very well done, I thought. It also marks the second movie ever that I remember seeing Gary Oldman as not the biggest bad-ass bad guy in the movie universe.

Food: I am so stoked that I learned how to make sushi at home (not that hard!).. instead of paying upwards of $7-15 a roll, I can do them at home for about a dollar apiece.. great, cheap eats. Daddy like!

Cat: Barn-Love the Second?
I sho did, sho nuff!

yeah, I picked up a little souvenir. But kidding aside, so far my girlfriend's really something else and I guess we all consider our significant others a blessing to have, especially someone so nice and genuine (makes me wonder y she's with me). But anyway would love to introduce my friends back home to her someday, if by then we make it that far. I'm not in love yet, but she says she likes me alot, and I am starting to like her more than I feel comfortable. Her job gives her some notoriety and her entourage is a bit cumbersome at times for quality mono e mono time.

Aye mon - good luck on ur new job!! It's going pretty well for me here, and the plans are actually i'll evaluate over some beer n Game of Thrones with my friends, whether i will return to the philippines. Actually i've come to a 90% decision, I probably will return for at least a year.
