Johnny Five: Congratulations, man! There is certainly something exciting about finding yourself a best friend rigged with opposite plumbing... or a matching set, even, if that fits your particular fancy. Hope everything else about your trip to the islands were just as profitable and substantial.
Davinci Code: Great book. Not the tightest of plotlines, but all it's really doing for you is providing the vessel to talk about "the grail" and all that entails.. which is really what makes the book very, very interesting. On that note, "Demons & Angels" by Mr. Brown is a much better plot and another good read, just be prepared to see almost the exact same cast plugged in, just with different names and circumstances. The premise is weaker and slightly less engaging, but it's still a very enjoyable book if you can get past the fact that it's nearly the same book as "Davinci".
On a completely unrelated note: I'm reading through the Gnostic Bible which includes the gospel of Thomas (earliest known gospel, dates back to the first century) which was spotlighted in the movie "Stigmata"... which is a GREAT movie if you haven't seen it. It was billed as sort of a horror flick, which was total bullshit. Anyway.. other apocrypha included in this book are the gospel of Mary (Miriam, really) Magdelene. Magdelene's and Thomas' gospels are really quite moving and really make too much sense to be included in the church's version of the Bible.. which is why Mary got made out to be a prostitute and a whore for the better part of 2000 years, among other things. Anyway.. if you ever get the chance, check out some book that includes these two omitted books. The basic jist is that spirituality and a connection to a higher power is between the individual and that higher power, not between the individual and a corporate entity selling salvation and a heaping pile of intolerance in exchange for cash.
The Backstroke of the West: Chinese bootleg of "Revenge of the Sith" re-subtitled/translated back to english (OMFG FUNNAY!)
The Wedding Crashers: Went to see this yesterday, wasn't expecting much more than a few laughs maybe, and was HUGELY suprised to be gut laughing for a couple of hours. Very very funny movie.
Batman Begins: Another pleasant suprise! If only the last few Batman movies were this good. Bale is no Keaton, but the movie is absolutely a blast, and very well done, I thought. It also marks the second movie ever that I remember seeing Gary Oldman as not the biggest bad-ass bad guy in the movie universe.
Food: I am so stoked that I learned how to make sushi at home (not that hard!).. instead of paying upwards of $7-15 a roll, I can do them at home for about a dollar apiece.. great, cheap eats. Daddy like!
Cat: Barn-Love the Second?
