More reasons to love teh matriz

Dude, we used to go to the worst movies together and have the tits bananas! What happened? Have you already succumbed to ex-major Ghouliani's eval powars? ELF POWAR! Anyways, I was reading some obnoxious forum posts at the IMDB.COM on Matrix:Reloaded, and someone pointed out that during the scene where NEO is talking to the ARCHITECT and that dude goes on about the horrors of the human race, you see on those monitors in the background Hitler, and other war scenes n shit, but then you also glimpse for a second both president Bushes as well as that photo of Rumsfeld shaking Sadaams hand- bahaha. Sure, the brother's w might be perv-s&m freaks, but at least they're maybe on our side, maybe. My side at least.

The Bloggest Hour

Hey Johnny... well following the rule of Johnny/Jon concordant movie opposition, you should DEFINITELY see Matrix 2 in the theater, because you will absolutely LOVE it. However, in my opinion it was a BIG PILE OF ASS. With like 2 good minutes. Which means you will like about 1,318 minutes of it....

New York is a fuckin' cool city except taking the subway gets beat after a while! Also I do not have access to my now-formidable collection of GURPS material, which is like my new power source. BTW, I have read through the entire GURPS Lite rulebook 2 times on assorted subway rides, so even if I am not attending KublaKon, I consider myself to be doing my part for gaming worldwide. Eric, cut out those GURPS dungeon hex maps when you get back 'cause brutha, we are gonna build us some 100-point Mages!

PS I also wanna play some BattleCry!!!!!!
The longest hour

This is by far, the most excruciating hour so far....40 minutes to go till paradise, temporarily...

Sigh
The Food in Fremont

The food here in Fremont is amazingly like our own, normal food, only slightly different. For example, Jael and I ate at an establishment that we would ccall "Fresh Choice", which in turn is very similar to "Soup Plantation". Anyway, here in crazy Fremont, Fresh Choice looks the same, tastes the same, but is instead called "Sweet Tomatoes". Intriguing!

Another thing about food in Fremont, Cocoa Pebbles seems to be the most abundant resource in this town. I deduce this from the fact that Jael has 4 boxes of it sitting on his kitchen counter... well three now that I finished one of them off....
So here I am in Fremont

Yeah, so I slept some this morning. I just couldn't sleep last night, I was all hyped up on coffee for the heinous drive. but anyway, my first impressions of this place: Jael has no landline telephone service, only cell phone and my phone gets really crappy reception here, so that's no good. The code to get into the gate for Jaels complex didn't work so he had to wake from delicious slumber and walk over to the gate to open it, he had cute sleepy-time-guy hair.

That is about all that has happened so far. More later. We are going to have some luncch so I will report on just how good or bad Fremont, CA food is.
DO IT!

Go see it in the theater Jael. It was tons better than X2, and at LEAST as good as the hobbit movies (I'd say better because it wasn't as long.) DO IT !!!

Someting Jahn will like: A Los Angeles judge has frozen the assets of Matrix Reloaded co-director Larry Wachowski. After reports Wachowski left his wife Thea Bloom for professional dominatrix, Ilsa Stix, his wife has gone to court in an effort to stop Wachowski giving away money. Bahah- what a dork. Thats why they wear those horrible leather outfits. Still liked it ok YOU JEYRKL!

Today is the D day

Tonight Kooblacon awaits...! Mass death and carnage shall be relived!

Jon: So how's NY coming? It sounds like your enjoying it. What are you doing up at 4:00 in the mo'nin? Share with us some of your adventures in the Jon NY Matrix! From the sounds of the movie, I'm definitely not going to go watch it in the theatres. If I remember I might rent it on video.

Aaronovich: Erics sleepin.. he couldn't sleep last night, propably from all the homoanal rapage, but I'm guessing he's gonna try to get some sleep this morning. Give me a call and lets talk about der plans. You can reach me on my cell phone homo! And what's this shit about LAN partying without an invite? Yo mama dickass!

The Matrix: Re-shitty-movie-ed

What a piece of shit!

blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH
--bloodless action scene--
repeat x10
oh wait, x1000

Bend it like Beckham was better than that shit!

There were like THREE good shots:
1. The long shot of the stairs in the big fight w/ the French guy's troops where like three people were flipping from right-to-left. I keep thinking about that.
2. A couple of parts in the fight w/ all the Agents when Neal had the pole
3. I can't think of another one.

The funniest part was in the end where they have to blow up the power station (or whatever) to get inside the building and Morpheus talks for about ten minutes, then they actually attack the power station and it takes like 3 seconds to disable. It's kinda like they were all, "Let's do the end of Shaft, but in a dumb way."

The fights had NO sense of danger. They repeated shit that was super-cool from the first movie (especially the shot of Morpheus jumping way high in the air when he's on the truck) and it just looked recycled. The dialogue was TERRIBLE TERRIBLE.

And that ending was a joke. OOH, the guy who CUT HIS HAND is gonna come after us now!

...I'm really surprised by how much I disliked this movie, actually. I really have no interest in seeing the sequel.

Anyway, I'm in NY for an extra couple days, coming back Saturday night. I hope everybody has a great time at Booblacon! Except Rudy... have a good time at your salsa class buddy... pick up them MILFs!

Love, Jon

Plus if you squeezed somebody heart to bring them back to life you would NOT want to kiss them because they would probably IMMEDIATELY start throwing up.

Booblacon

What up g moneys. Well I am hyped already. I am sitting around with a couple friends LAN partying and stoking on the Con. RULE!
Elrock call me tomarrow so we can coordinate.

Bortz.
No R&B, No Bruce Almighty

Sorry, no dice Jael, we are NOT taking a break from pillaging and plundering Burlingham to go see Ace Ventura 4: God Detective plays Tupak's Greatest Hits. We are here to game, and spend our little incomes willy-nilly throughout the gaming world, and maybe pick up some hookers, but no strip clubs either. Games. Games. Games.

As far as I am concerned, the plan of attack is that I am leaving my hizouse @ 7 or 7:30 tonight, shoot up the 5 and wake you from sweet slumber sometime around 1 or 2am. Then I will chill the next day and paint the rest of my Skaven....

I'll email my cell-phone # tonight, or I'll just call you from the road.

Booblacon awaits!
1 mo day till kenvunshen tlyme!!!

will the excitement never cease? i want to watch bruce almighty as well... there is a free concert in oakland on sunday, R&B, and lots of cool stuff to do!~!!

Elric, why are you not posting?

Aaron, why are you not posting?

someone fucking post I say! the deadening silence is harsh... so harsh... I feel soo alone in this vast thyberthpace universe

Jael
dude... paul er... rudy your indecisiveness is killing me

Seriously...

fucking call eric now or I'm gonna go pound your ass with a bean pole. I went to a bachelors party last night. At the con, if we want to take a break, I vote we go to the strip club.

Jael
The Matrix has my fucking ears

finally saw it! yeah for me. it was cool! fucking loud- omg, i cant believe how obnoxious the music through the credits was. i think eric41851@aol.com was on to something with his weird rule about playing mellow classical music in the car after crazy loud punk shows. you sit through 2 hours of LALaLALALALALABAMAMAMABAABNAABNAANANAN and then they take it up a notch when you try to watch the credits. ugh. after the credits was the MATRIX 3 preview- it looks really bad after just watching matrix 2- i'm sure it'll be alright, but it looks so "EXACTLY MORE OF THE SAME" ugh- my ears still hurt.

have fun this weekend guys! i was so tempted to call eric all day and say "TAKE ME" but i know he wouldnt believe me so eh. HAVE FUN!

-The (6th) One

PS did i mention my head hurts? BONZO GOES TO BITBURG!

Tex Mex Grill

Elrock dont bring Lord of the Rings confrontation, I gots it. Johnny: if you dont find a copy, or want to wait I have a copy of aquire here. Elrich: if you want to visit me in SF during the day I could step out of the office for an hour or so. Some of the other people do not have qualms about it so I may take an extended, "where the hell did he go", lunch if you are about. If not.. Oh well. If I can think of any game I want to play I will tell you.

My list o shit.. (All the ones with asteriks I intend to bring unless otherwise noted by you two punks)

*Iron Dragon
Tikal <-- No one seems to want to play it anymore
*Lord of the Ring: Confrontation
*Honor of the Samurai
*Lord of the Fries
*Giganten <-- Eldick will sabatoge it, but I will still bring it
*Aquire
*Rosinkonig
*Richochet Row Butt.... Its not a Bow butt.
*Circvs Maximvs <--- I can bring it Elrock
GOOTMU <--- Elfuck Won't play it
Rail Baron
Zirtz
Java
Democrazy
Castle
Cartegena
*Pirateer
Who cares if anyone at work "believes" you = Cuz my bossinators a dick ass?

They don't want you to just take a day off. It's an intangible threat. But we can meet up for lunch for sure. I can even lend you my gym card if you want to go swimming, play basketball or work out. There's a few places I'd suggest, Great Mall Parkway, Scenario hobbies, winchester mansion, Visit SF using FART, There's the MOMA museum, Sony Center, China town, I dunno... I have maps, guides, and stuff that you can use. We'll chat more when u come tomorrow.

I meant to say crimson skies. that sounds like a cool game yo.

er... what else.... thas it i guess....

Jael
Whoa whoa whoa whoa, easy there Tex!

Now, I will occasionally be the odd man out when I buy a fucking grab-bag(!?!) of stuff from the drug dealer-room, so just back the truck up there mister. And as far as the Hero-Clix "dog of war" game I am totally lost, what's the game about? I have the clicky-base game for Marvel Superheroes, the old school Mage Knight game, and the new Crimson Skies (which seems fun after playing one partial game with Peter that we played incorrectly), which did you mean? I might bring Twilight Imperium, that was fun, but when Jon, JP and I played it at Jonarron's, it wasn't as fun as with a larger group; the voting segment of the game just didn't fly right with only 3 votes being cast. And as far as Acquire goes, you will need to either track down a used copy or go to a Game Keeper to get it for SUPAR cheap ($20).

This just added (or not) to the list of stuff to bring and play:

- Warrior Knights, so Enron can read half a page of the rules again, but thats it.
- Curse of the Mummies Tomb, so we can be bored out of our skulls.
- Star Warriors, to take up desk space.
- Battlefleet Gothic, becase it is another game that I think is fun but no one ever plays with me.
- Dark Future, ...
- Formula De, I'm serious about this one, though no one will play it either.
- The Hills Rise Wild, 'cause it's fun!

That is all for now, I gotta get out of work and paint some more Skaven!

Also, Johnny, don't you get sick days? Who cares if anyone at work "believes" you, you have a right to take a day off anytime you want, right? Or are you not full-time with benefeits?

-
Take a right from the singing bush.... Singing bush?

What?! you dare to call me infamous?... what does infamous mean? -3 amigos

You need to bring your vegetable costume... oh wait... that's the vegetable convention. Okay so gaming wise, I just bought this game from rio grande, it's called "tug-o war" or something, but it's actually really cool game if we made a drinking game of it. It's really not that fun sober, but I'm imagining it'd be a BLAST DRUNK!! We have to play this at the con, fo sure' !

I've got battle cry, going to buy acquire, so we don't need those. It sucks they never made any expansions for diceland.
Oh, bring the hero clix game "dog of war", I don't know if you want to try that galactic war game again, er.... Wiz War, definitely bring more 3 player games, as I can foresee we will be doing ALOT more gaming, in fact, constant non-stop gaming. We won't have the odd-man out dillio. Or "I just want to sit here and read (whatever someone bought at the dealer)". I'm so amped, I'll even play some roleplaying games.. but the interest will probably wane 30 minutes into the game.

Er... it'll be great! Totally wish I could take friday off. I was thinking calling in sick, but who's gonna believe that on a 3 day weekend?

Jael

Gearing Up

I'm getting ready for a nice boys weekend out, the Three Amigos shall game again!

Got the oil change, getting the car washed today, got the cow catcher removed yesterday, have 6 skaven painted, need to paint 6 more ..., going to do some laundry tonight, pay the mortgage today, load up and consolidate the PBI stuff tonight as well as earmark some other games to take, now here is the question: What EXACTLY do you two need me to gather up to bring? I know, I know, fun games, etc., but I need specifics so I don't forget anything. Here is what I have:

- PBI miniatures tower of terrain (contains trees, walls, roads, houses, counters, rub off pens for record keeping,
- PBI board pieces
- PBI miniatures and rules
- Blood Bowl and miniatures
- Circvs Maximvs (for shits and giggles)
- Lord of the Rings: Confrontation
- Space Bulk and miniatures

What else SPECIFICALLY do you two want? What am I forgetting?

Khunvenshun Tyme!

Have a good tyme at the convention boys! I've been only skimming your posts lately because, unlike you lucky sods, the Matrix Reloaded isn't out yet in England and I don't want to read any spoilers... though I have only heard good reviews this end. The delay on films is nearly universal This is because the big square rigger boats that they use to send the reels out from Hollywood take longer to get here. Arrr...scurvy! Anyway, I'm sad that I'll be here working on a PhD instead of doing some hard core convention fun... maybe next time! But don't worry, I'll totally be there in spirit, and let us not forget that the convention is not a fucking grab bag? (Kudo's Ja-el for bringing that one back from the dead!)

Mixiquatl the flying beastoid

Parking Situation

Well according to their website, Overnight guests have to pay 5 dollar per day for parking and Non- guests have to pay 5 dollars too. (hmm.. not too bright), guess everyone has to pay 5 dollars for parking? Luckily for us we really won't be needing that many cars. At most 2 right? If Erick crashes at my place then we'll just take one car up and you can take one. We can probably even do 1 car, if we swing by and pick you guys up. It'll be pretty crammed, 4 people (you me eric amy and games) but it's feasible and quite kozy.

Elcock: as Mcoil will attest, my fold out bed chair is quite accomodating. If not I have futons and a TV in the living room to lull you to sleep. So see ya here! What's your plans on Friday? I have a lot of miniatures you can paint.... :). There's also some places you can venture around. I should get off by 5:30... the journey begins,...

I haven't seen the Matrix II yet, but I've heard mixed reviews. I don't know if I want to see it now or wait until the video tape comes out. It's all media hype! I'm tired....

Night all,
Jael

Matrix: Re-NOFRIENDS-'ed

Still haven't seen it, but I think I'll go on an early morning matinee viewing this week. I made a little money helping a friend move today (and made a lot of back-hurt too) so I was about to go solo tonight, but 10 fuckin bucks. If I were with friends, eh- ok. But, 10 bucks to see it alone? No. So, I'll go see it at the special matinee price of $8.50 (ouch!) But thats cool what you said about the haX0ring stuff. That site you linked also mentioned that the movie Battle Royale used it too- I saw that movie recently- its a good one!

Just watched Martha, Inc. Doh! Pretty boring. Yeah, she's pretty brutal I guess, but I've worked for bigger asshole's than her, and it just really wasn't that shocking. Oh, back pain sucks.

Elrick Khon Voyage

Here is my take on it. I have work on Friday. D'oh! I will be out at 4:15pm... Maybe earlier. Depends on the Bossinator/work load. Sleeping arangements: You may want to stay at Johnny Khans. His place is more accommidating for guests and has a fold out bed/couch. My joint has a couch too short for your tall ass, littered with alergy inducing cat hairs. My roommate's cat sheds like none other and she never vacuums (Besides it has a broken belt). Aside from that, getting to Johnny's is a lot easier. If you haul ass you can get to johnny's between 12midnight and 1am (Unless you do the Aaron express ~11:15pm). Johnny you are going to have to enlighten us on the parking situation @ the Khan. Is the parking there free? For how many cars? If it isnt, we may need to arrange cars in an efficient manner. Too bad the Fart will not service the airport area until a couple weeks after the con.

Saw Matrix tonight and I really have to sleep on it to render a more refined judgement, but at this point I vote: mixed bag on the plus side. Some shit bugged. Eric you were right about the sex scene + sex references. Unnecessary. The Rave scene... WTF? Aimey and I found both a bit pointless and only used as a vehicle to capture the lowest common denominator of the audience... base emotions. The fight scenes were very cool, but some were too long or again trying to get an A.D.D. audience's attention with over the top action. Some of the plot seemed really cool with philosophical brain twisters. Other parts... Why? Why put that in? or this seems pointless. The visuals were great and the effect were amazing. Elcock was right in saying the CG did not detract from the movie, but added a great deal. All in all it was a fun movie but I think they could have done some things differently and left others out. The first Matrix still rules. There seems to be a lot to this movie that I may have missed in the first viewing and I will rewatch it. Sidenote: Any movie that uses REAL hacking tools to exploit a known (albiet old) SSH security bug and not fucking netscape (The well known hacking tool... Yeah right!) at least they did some homework. The movie deserves praise in that respect. I would go into much more gory details but I dont want to ruin the movie for those of us that have not watched it yet.

Fargin Bastages

P.S. Why the hell is it that when I select text to put in italics, it will often put both tags after the selected item?

P.P.S. Elrick you are still very welcome to stay here, but I just thought you would be a bit more comfortable at Johnny's.
eh, i dunno. It's probably just my computer that sucks. But, winamp likes to freeze my computer usually if I'm holding down my mouse button too long or if i try running other programs (like hotmetalpro.) yeah, just probably my computer that sucks. BOO.

Whats wrong with Winamp?

...
SuckAmp and SucksMediaPlaysucks

omg, I HATE winamp and windows media player. They both just seem to suck sooo much. Anyone have any suggestions for another windows compatible media player? Please?

Blooblacontrix: Reloaded

4 mo' days till Sexvenshun time... if I can survive todays and tomorrows finals.... argh! I'm gonna die...

So flyin' solo eh Ace'?! You'll need to take the Omicron highway detour and probably refuel at Plaster V. If you start at 7 pm, it should only take about 5 hours, so technically whoever's place you crash at will be soundly awoken. Nevertheless! I welcome you to my humble abode, and truly truly, if no one answers the door, keep a knockin. But if youre coming from the south my home will be first hit by the plague. So my home is definitely closer... BUT WAIT! there's more...

Aarons place is a little further (in san fran) but I think that the place we are going, Burlingame, is pretty close to SF. So basically it all equals out. The more you drive, the closer you are to the convention. So it's up to you.

I'll email you my contact and address. If you wanna crash over, let me know on thursday or something. I'll be working friday morning, so I don't know if aaron's doing anything, perhaps he can entertain you for a bit.

Signing out!
Jael

Big Huge Booblacons

Okay, so I am driving up to SF by myself, as far as I can tell. My woman is not going, so just me me me, though after the Dallas trip from hell, driving is nothing, not that it ever really was before. So my plan is to take off thursday night @ 7pm and see how far I get. I might make it all the way, I might stop and take a sleep at a Motel 6 on the way. So who is closer to me/the con if I were to make it all the way? I need directions, phone #'s, etc. Gimme gimme gimme!

Kubla-Project: My new project and goal which means nothing to anyone other than perhaps Mike, I am trying to get the Skaven BB team painted by the con. One test model down, 11 more players to go. I'll do it, it is my density, er, destiny.
A Fucking Grab-Bag!?!

Funny, funny stuff. Was that from like an Econo-Christ record or something? Some spoken word crap? I know it was either one of the above or a combination of something like that. Either way, I intend to revive it best I can. More Kublacon to come...

No dice, or "I don't care if I'm bleeding."

Seriously thanks for the offer Jael, but besides the negative cash flow, I have a couple of engagements for this weekend that I don't wanna break. Even us jobless bums are sometimes busy. Thanks though for the offer!

4-0 sweet sweet peking ducks

I'm not much of no Hockey' fan, sir... but to knock out the defendn' champs, and then to sweep the next team dey play seems purty good to me. Is it really fluke, or maybe theys got some mad skillz with them hokey sticks...

Thanks for the tips on the flockerin', guess from what I'm hearin from you guys, there's no real secret. The hardest part i'm struggling with is to make it look good. I've got tons of studying left to do, i'm hoping that by next week, I'll have at least the germans armed and ready for hand-to-hand combat. Prepare for humanitys darkest hour...

What about lil rudy? I was trying to convince him that he could stay with us. Grey hound sounds like a decent plan, hoping the bus doesn't breakdown or something. Wouldn't want to relive Aaron's fun experience. But if you still plan to come by thursday, I'm sure either Aron or myself can host you up for the night unless you already have plans with the misses. The only part that sucks is driving 5 hours alone.

Jael

Olly, Olly, Floxin' Free, or "Denish"

Tell him to bus it up. We can pick his arse up and he can hitch a ride down with you. If he grabs a mid eve greyhound we can get his arse saturday morn. It is only foe-tee bucks on greywho'nd (one way). Although it is an eight hour trip.

Yeah I have a whole series of Kon email frenzies including the likes of JP/Motorbyke/Oetersen/Bitter Mr. Hass/Johnny Khan Late/Me.

Flocking Molly, or "Whoa"

- So I saw Matrix: Reloaded today. Mixed emotions. Fun as all hell. I just kept laughing and smiling kinda like I did during the Yoda fight scene in SW:AOTC. And as far as complaining about the computer graphics work done during the fight scenes, only one small part of one HUGE ENORMOUS fight scene really irked me, other than that, the computer stuf worked. For me anyway. Cheers to absurd and hecka fun fight scenes, Jeers to adding unnecessary sex to the movie, Cheers to some interesting insight given to the Matrix and the potential for a pretty good mind-blow in the third one (the wheels are already spinnin' in my head as to what it all means), Jeers to making part of the movie too over the top at times, Cheers to making the movie too over the top at times. All in all I liked it and will probably see it again and again, or at least once before it leaves the theater and then a bunch on DVD.

- As far as flocking goes, I usually make a glued and painted sand base first and then stick spots, patches or streaks of Elmers on the base and grab a small clump of static grass and press it to the glue, release, and then let sit. Thats about it.

- If the Mighty Ducks of Anaslime win the Stanley Cup, I think we all (excluding Jael, of course) need to go to church a lot more because I think it will mark the beginning of the Apocalypse and following Rapture, and I sure as shit know that we all could do some praying and hail Mary's if we hope to make it past the fire raining from the Heavens stuff...

- So, it looks like I will be the only SoCal Kublacon attendee. Denis has a late final on friday, and I have friday off from work and was planning on leaving thursday night, so that might not work out. Denis may drive himself up, I don't know, I'll call him after this blog.

- Priceless emails, truly.

Flocking Etc..

The way I did the static grass is to spray some of the scenic glue (AKA the watered down white glue) and then I sprinkle the static grass down. For minitures, I recomend brushing the glue on. I found that if I put the static grass in a small shaker is helps a lot. After placing the static grass down I have never tried clear coating it. Sometimes I will lay down another layer of misted scenic glue, but that only works on large homogenous surfaces since you can not control the spray. After your mentioning of the old con emails I went back and found some from 1997. Including this fine exerpt

From: Eric2635@aol.com, Tue, 18 Feb 1997 16:18:52 -0500 (EST)
"Yeah, post-con is burnt. I hate it, I want to go back and not have to think about hard stuff, like anatomy. But more to the point, Dick-Bone. But actually even more to the point, has anyone seen my Boggle? Last I knew Aaron and Jp had it in open gaming, and from then on I never saw it. So, if anyone picked it up from the roo for me, I love you and want to have sex with you."

So the way I see it Johnny, you could score this weekend if you bring said game. Fucker!

"Have you guys ever played a board game called "Settlers of Cataan"? It got a 10/10 in Arcane and looked pretty kewl." - Enoto@ucla.com, Wed, 22 Jan 1997 11:41:19 -0800 (PST)
