Here's my B-Day present to Mr. Oetersen and all:
SOLDAT!!!

Haven't played it yet, but from description: It takes the best from games like Liero, Worms, Quake and Counter-Strike and gives you fast action gameplay with tons of blood and flesh.
We all know PC Loicers loved Liero, so we know this one is gonna be good!

@ work, so can't try it, but will give review (and try it for yourself!) I had played that Crimson Ground game u emailed us: great control scheme and *cool* level-ups, but it got REAL boring fast. They outta take that "engine" and make some cool smash-tv-type of game! DRINK IT!

Hello hello folks. Well, here I am at my parents' house. It really isn't too bad so far. My room is pretty different now that it's actually somewhat clean. I still have a shitload to do back at ye olde Aaron's place but at least the room is kinda cleared out. I was cleaning and moving until one in the morning. I was super-tired from moving boxes and furniture down all those steps and my legs were actually shaking a little. In addition to that I'm working every day this weekend (including Monday) and I'm getting sick too. Huzzah!

My birthday is Monday, but I don't think anything big is going down. Maybe we can get together this weekend and do something fun, or something?

Blah, I'm tired.
Convention Time Part Deux

Have fun tomorrow at the convention. Let me know if you guys see any extra-cool games or anything. Hey, maybe Larry Elmore will be there signing posters! *yawn*

I gotta work at 6pm, so I doubt I'll be able to make it there.

Jon-o's B-DAY!
What day is it this week? I've got Monday off, so if you wanna plan some birthday whoring, let us know! (Gotta work tue, wed, and thur!) :(

Although what do we intend the review section for anyway?
Reviews. :D

Hmmm.. No wonder.. I was a bit confused on the two streams of conversations.. Sorry I did not realize I was posting in the review section. Yeah that was a bit unclear.. But I do not think we need to get rid of the review section, so long as I understand what I am doing now. Although what do we intend the review section for anyway?

Bortz
That is teh questshun!

For some reason, on the MAC's here at work (all running IE) I don't see the extrar buttons on the blog screen for linkage and bold, etc.. Hmph!

I like having 2 different pages- although if you blog into review section, then click VIEW WEB PAGE it takes you to main page. Kind of annoying.

Eric, congrats on your certification dude! If anyone ever frikkin used IRC, I'd a told you "LIVE" ,but yeah- very cool man.

Johnny: Join the proper blog. Arron- you should know better. Also, why in the hell are you moving up north??? Lets see: RENT THROUGH THE FUCKIN ROOF. NO PARKING. Um... STARBUCKS FRIGGIN CENTRAL. Also, EX-DOT COMERS SCREAMING FOR CHANGE!

Sorry for the caps, but I just dont think moving up north is teh best solution or whatever. WE'll miss you dude!
To review,or not to review

It seems that for some reason some of us do not like to post (or blogger does not like to allow posting) on the main page, which hopefully is clearly defined as the main page by being brown and labeled "home". So my question is, should I just chunk the "reviews" page all together and just have a main page and a pictures page eventually? Johnny only joined the Reviews blog, Aaron did too, and now the lines are blurred between the two. So again, should I just chunk it?

Back Home at Lahina is the best food ever for cheap. Six bucks for an enormous plate of cabbage and baked, shredded, seasoned pork with rice. Sooooo good, though it may sound odd, it is DELICIOUS!!!!

Go here:

NO, I MEAN HERE!

Tell 'em Koo-ta-loo sent you.

How do I become a Freemason?

For a Fraternity steeped in over four hundred years of tradition, you might think it is difficult to become a Mason.
It is. There is one major hurdle each candidate must pass.
They must ask.

Ok- whatever, freaky world-controllers! I was going for my daily walk (did 3 miles today!) and I got to pass by the Scottish Rite Mason lodge on Wilshire, and boy, is it ever CREEPY! It's been shut down for awhile now, so it was wierd walking past the rusted-out barbed-wire that surrounds the enourmous facility. They've got these HUGE statues surrounding the building, and man- I'm telling you- something just don't seem right! I did a little gogglage to see WHY its all fenced off, but: nothing. Sure, there's mention of it, and you can write the head Mason dude for that place, Gaylord V. Roten (that's his real name!) but, no- couldn't find out why its got CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC signs hanging of the barbed-wire fence. Maybe the fence is there to keep something IN, not keep us OUT. Ha!

Re: Jon
Yeah, I bet doing Web-Radio might be kinda annoying, but I THINK all you gotta do is make a couple of mega-long "streams" (shit- your mp3 playlist maybe?) and it just goes... shit, I don't know how it works. Thought Mr. Micro$oft here would tell us! ;)

Re: Layout- Yeah, its a little confusing. My 1/2 cent: Scoot the "blog this" link to the end, and have the MAIN page and the REVIEW page links side by side. pr0n!

Is Masonry a secret society?

Masonry is not a secret society, but rather a society with a few secrets.

/me shivers!

Jon, you make me want to get right out there and fix it you're way!
Hooray for Blogberg
So when you are on the "Reviews" page, that link should be black and the "the action team v. 1.4" link should be orange. (I didn't realize you could click that link to return to action team main.) Also in the header Its' should be It's
I AM A PROFRESSIONAL TESTER
A radio station sounds like an awful lot of work.
Glad you guys liked the review! For some reason the best stuff always takes about 3 seconds to write.
Action Team RADIO

I was wondering what it takes to run an internet radio station. I know they're close to passing some crazy laws that will basically shut down all but the biggest web-radio stations, but in the meantime, what kinda setup would we need? I'm wondering cuz lately, there's been some pretty cool web-radio stations I've been listening to.

Ha Ha! The RIAA can suck on this... AND this.

Johnny! Whasssssssss-uuuuuupppppp!

Space Marines!!!!!

Welcome Johnny!!! Okay, here's the deal: I invited you to join both blogs, one for the reviews page, one for the regular "blog" page, so far as I can tell you joined the "reviews" but not the "blog" page. So join both of them, and you can switch between which one you wish to post to from a drop-down menu right above where it says "Post to The Action Team Reviews". Also, go to "team", and edit your profile, in the section that says "nickname", type "/images/jonny.jpg" (but without the quotation marks). That should get your picture up and running. Welcome!!!!!! No convention for us except for a day trip on sunday!!!!!

Be Like Punt

Good God Jon, you should have gone to school to be a writer or something, that review was tremendous! Laughing out loud kinda funny, of course now there is no way that anyone else will ever post anything cause pretty much, nothing will match the words "be like punt".

"Eject Functionality".....Jeebus....
Time to pack up and move back to my parents' basement!

Funniest thing I've heard all day! Went out to the Central Library today - the RICHARD RIORDAN Central Library. Pretty cool, but I didn't spend a whole lotta time there. WHen I was checking out some shitty James Ellroy book (Black Dahlia) the uber-geek behind the counter started giving me this guys bibliography- wanted to punch his head!!! Swear to god, the guy looked like that creepy "Do you read Sutter Cain?" guy with the scary eyeballs. "No asshole," says Nike-Che.
:D

Cool site, although there's some random Scientology references- omfg, wtf!?!?! stfu plz thx!

Party in IRC!

NOTE: Gotta remember the "target=display" part added onto the end of the link!
Like Mike Mike Motorbike, turn the key and watch him pee

So, I set up another Blog for everyone to join that updates the "reviews" page. Same idea, same look, except that page will be reserved for reviews of whatever we feel like being critical about, perhaps even in-depth critical reviews..... right.... But don't fret, its easy to switch back and forth between posting, right above where it says "Post to theactionteam.org" is a dropdown menu that once you join will have your various blogs listed, simply select the blog you want, and hit it. Your picture and all that jazz will stay the same.
Chicken Taco Hat Trick

Still packing. Going slooow. It's almost as if I'm not really all that keen on it!

A bunch of people got laid off at work today. Meanwhile, I watched "Like Mike" twice.

I've eaten Baja Fresh three times in two days. I think you win some kind of special grodiness prize for that.

Yo, Eric: Do you want that bookshelf? If you do then come by and get it by Saturday, else it's going in the trash. There's also a 2001 Lowrider Calendar and the October 1999 Easyriders, for some lucky fella.
I Before E Except After Cunt

Kudos Eric!

So hey... why don't we get Johnny up in this piece? He IS one of the Action Team after all. (Some monk character.) He's more likely to post than that poncey Michael, anyway.

So, now that I've used misogynistic language and insulted my friend, it's time to pack up and move back to my parents' basement!
Greastest Hambuger.... classic, just classic.

So instead of actually GOING to the Microsoft function in Anaheim, I didn't go. I did get to hear about it from the guys that did go however. The big hubub was about "Small Business Server", which seems actually pretty cool. Its more of a Suite of Servers, if you will; lots of services from multiple products all rolled into one! Hooray! And with a price tag in the range of $1500 -$2000, how could anyone say no? As far as swag is concerned, I did get a Microsoft notepad, so thats something. I'm signed up to go to another one in September (they are free) at some LAX hotel, so that'll be nice and close. Great.

I took and passed my final Microsoft exam today, and now am an official MCSE. Hooray for me. I celebrated by fighting the worst traffic ever on Crenshaw and hit up Bo Ba Paradise for a nice large coffee and black tea twist. I followed that refreshing delight by hitting up Third Planet and picking up LoEG v2.1 and 2.2, GI Joe trade paperback vol. I, a Hellboy trade, and a silly WotC (english) Football card game. I'm a sucker for games that try and traverse the gap between sports games and nerd games.
Johnny Lee vs Teh CON

Talked to Johnny Lee on IM a little earlier, and he was asking about the convention. Told him that you guys were only going on sunday for the dealer room. If I was wrong, it wouldn't hurt if someone "in the know" emailed him.

I saw some commercials for "The Thing" video game, and even though it *kinda* looked cool, I dunno... something seemed kinda lacking. Also seen a few tv commercials for a couple of games that look like Max Paine/GTA3 knock-offs. *Yawn*

I just got home from the studio. Had a large "red-eye" around 9pm and decided to go into the studio and track and mix a song. Fun! Eh... tomorrow (or, officially "today") I'm planning on taking a field trip to the ultra-megazorg-cool Central Library downtown. Teh mothars of all Library! Should be cool!

Shock the Monkey

Tomorrow I *get* to go to this Microsoft function in Anaheim, check-in is at 7:30am at the Anaheim Sheraton I think. Christ. However, these functions are those things that developers go to to learn about all the new products being released, so I'll attend seminars and get a big bag of swag. And lots of free food, too. The swag bag has contained everything from pre-release versions of XP, .NET, all sorts of office products and pamphlets as well as some books, so maybe I'll score and get something to make the drive worthwhile.

I picked up "The Thing" for the PS2 (along with 1000ft of CAT 5 cable... don't ask). The game got great press during development, but so far, as with so many other games out there, it is disappointing. I would much rather be playing Crimsonland. I haven't given up on it yet though.
Come up to the board and do some math

Those days when you have a semi all day are a real hassle. I'm not saying that's what my day was like or anything. I'm just saying.

I haven't been able to poop all day. Ohhh!

I also purchased ELoG V2 #2 from my friendly local comic book store with scary cat lady. It is good. Still waiting for it to get GREAT though.

Aaron is the greastest hambuger.
Crept up on you like Stoli

Cool about the linkage Eric!

Just got issue 2 of Extraordinary League of Gentlemen, Vol 2. It rocks! The first issue was kinda hard to judge (it was very much a "set-up" issue), but issue 2 is diffenately "beefy" with dialogue, and lots of gory action! Good stuff... Haven't tried tackling the "almanac" stuff in the back, but the issue looks even longer (and, I'm sure- just as good.)
Coolage.

The Truth Is Out There
Little old, but still kewl! Check it!

Okay, I'm not going to ask anyone to write any javascript into their entries, so alternatively, the way to get links to work is as follows:

1) After highlighting your linked word and clicking the link button, the link should look like this:

A HREF="http://www.10d6.com"> link this /A>

2) Once we are that far, add this "target=display" after the link closing quotes, like so:

A HREF="http://www.10d6.com" target=display> link this /A>

3) That should make the links work in a new window.
NOTE: Edited Rudy's links so they work now.
So even after all the over-eating followed by the delightful boba, I still woke up hungry this morning. Go figure. As far as the links are concerned, this is a problem. I can get on it when I get home, so don't click the links yet.

My instructor here at school has had a rotten tooth problem for the past week, and today he is particularly doped up... its like watching a train wreck - he's trying to keep it together, but half of his lecture is his being delivered with his eyes closed through marble mouth with a swaying stance and nearly unreadable whiteboard writing... yikes..
Linkage: Not Hot Dogs

Had a large RED-EYE around 10pm, so I'm pretty wired tonight (at least it got me working on some music!)
Anyways, let me expierement a little...
Cool new links to check out:

1.) Hammerhead and other FREE music softwares! Some really cool drum machine and soft-synth programs. Quality stuff!

2.) a/state pen/paper rpg I mentioned earlier! I'm through about a quarter of the FREE 62 page pdf "lite" rulebook for this new rpg, and its some good reading. All the art is computer generated, so it may look like some wierd computer game, but its not. Cool setting, and if you can somehow hook up some free inkage (printing it out at work, for example) its definately worth checking out.

3.) I was telling you guys about that Neverwinter Nights review Here it is!
And then, here were the dnd fanboys and their FLAMEs emails- funny stuff.

Me and Eric hung out in IRC a little earlier- you guys are missing out!

Now, time to cry myself to sleep.

ADDED: Hey guys- is there a way to have the links open in a new window (without right-clicking?) For me, when I click on the links I made, they open in the tiny text area of the AT site- omfg wtf, plz thx.

(Still waiting in IRC land.)

I jump off teh cliff
Becuase I can not learn teh riff from Enter Sandmen!

Re: Layout- I'd like to see more space for the writing (and yes, I'll write better shit than this.) I like Eric's idea for the nav section at the bottom of the screen. Instead of words (like PHOTOS, LINKS, etc) it'd be cool if it were just symbols.
Eric: I email you an avatar for right now- check it out!

Also, it'd be cool if we could have mini-sections of our own to do whatever (Jon's Page- Arrons Site- The Rudy Zone- etc.) I'd like to download some kinda web program and I could throught the shit into the ftp or whatever. -L-

Cool photo in the background eric- looking very cool so far.
Jon- don't give your phone number on teh net!
OK, cool. Neat. Um... hi.

This is pretty cool... I'm gonna post lots of suicidal poetry and shit here like Rudy has already done... it's a race to the grave!

Ohh, so sick. Tooo much food. (Went out to grab Indian food Rudy... while you were sitting waiting for us to show up on IRC.) I'm gonna be out of here by Friday so if you need to get in touch with me from Friday on it's back to ***-***-****... except actually I'll probably usually be either at work or out drinking.

[Later] Oh yeah Eric, I agree, you should open the white space up on the left and maybe more at the bottom too. We need as much text space as possible, especially if people are going to actually start writing shit.

Can I post pictures? Well, I can post pictures on a page for all to gaze upon, and potentially in the future maybe a better method but until then, you can link to them from another site that has been posted. Like this Of course if you do link to any images they will probably be huge, so maybe we shouldn't even try to do that just yet.....
So my intention with this layout was to put all the links and garbage on the left in that nice, comforting, restful white space, however I am having second thoughts about that. Now I am thinking more about opening this posting section up a bit into that white space, and using the bottom of the page to set up all the links. Any thoughts?

Also, input is always needed as to what I (we) should do with this site. I want a photo section, perhaps a reviews section for anything we feel like sharing, links, all that standard garbage.

And Rudy, I do have a picture of you, but I just don't feel like scanning anything right now, so if you ahve one to send me, I can update your "no image".
Meet me in IRC

Ok!
Thanks for putting all this work into this shit Eric (and the gang.)

I don't think that picture is working (or you probably don't have a picture of me.

Que paso Rudy! Okay, here's the deal, when you post, hit the "Post and Publish" button. We'll talk alter about what to do next once you get it all under control! Fun! We are so emo now! As far as your image is concerned, go to your "team" icon at the top of the blogger post section, edit your profile, and in the nickname category type in "/images/rudy.jpg". Great.
