Here's a pretty insane satellite photo of California from a day or two ago: click here.

ROck On

Yes I spoke with Jahn Patersun and that would be a fine weekend for him to come up. As far as the group road trip goes, I dont want to speak for Elrock, but I imagine he is fairly busy with wedding preperation-H. Ja -eL you are really quite the vacation master lately. Bastard!

Jon you didnt get a magnet because you are a Magnor the Vaginor Mage. Fucker.

Suck It Trebek
Can't speak for enron...

But yeah, you, oeterson, are welcome anytime. I'm sure once you're here, Enron will make some time so that we can visit him in his gang-land. November 8th is good. You don't have to worry about the time. Call a few days off, maybe I can do the same. Get your moneys worth.

Just FYI, I will be going on a trip to Taiwan on Nov 12th and won't be back until the 24th. It'll be a relaxing vacation at the very least. So if you don't visit before the 12th, we can do it after the 24th. So let me know ur plans

Whatever happened to the group road trip?

It's nice that all you guys were invited to Aeryk's wedding.

Having a magnet sounds pretty cool. Magnets are objects with northern or southern polarities which can stick to other objects. Sometimes, you can put a smaller, intervening object, like a photo of your friends or a wedding invitation, between the two larger objects.

I don't need a magnet though. You know why? Because I have this "Hey, Jon, you're a FAG"-net.

San Francisco

Hey Jael, what're you doing on the weekend of Nov 8th? I was thinking it'd be nice to escape the foetid, ashy hellhole that is Southern California and visit. That's Enron's birthday weekend so we could totally hang out in Fremont. It's about $100 cheap if I fly out Saturday morning... that's not too bad....
Can't buy me love!

is the best movie! Jon, you share the last name of my favorite actress Amanda Peterson, who's married now and has 2 children. I'd ask you if Amanda was somehow related, however, I know that you'd just sign my movie yourself and stick it in my locker.

For our trip to erics wedding, I can get cheap hotel rates at all Marriott and affiliated hotels, thanks to my new profession as a travel agent! So look for one of those... I'll probably have to make the reservation though, so let me know the details when you gusy get them. As for prosti-con, the hotel is all set. We are staying at the Mariott that is right ACROSS the street...

I have one of those silly magnets with bubbles hanging on my fridge!

You are SO Fired!

I dont know if I told you boys but I am offically canned on December 12th. I have spoken with my boss and I am going to take the 11th and 12th off for ProstiCon. Thus, my true last day is the 10th. D'oh!

Moving on. Myke, I tried asking the question about where we are staying and no one seems to have responded. Elrock, what is probably the best place for us heathens to stay? I dont mind doing any of them except I would rather avoid Motel 6. Are the other places decent? I know some of us are budget conscience so I have been wait for those to chip in their opinions. I suggest maybe the Cabrillo Inn or Parkside. Thoughts everyone? I would like to reserve soon so that we are not all staying in different Hotels.

Myke: I will email you so that we can conspire Elrocks Demise.

How is the Power ashes of breathing guys? Is it as bad as the Malibu fires for Air quality?

Didn't I fire you?
Fridge Magnets, PhD's and Angst

Greetings everyone. I've been doing my best to keep up to date with the goings on of the Action Team, but really have not had time to post. In fact, I still don't -- it turns out that writing a PhD is a lot harder than I thought at first, but ah well, it will all be over soon, one way or the other. As for my 'address' I have been trying to resolve that problem for months now. You remember when I posted it and my email for a day until Oon let me know that I would contract 'Internet SAARS' from this and so I took it down. I don't have any of your email addresses, phone numbers, or anything so I don't know how to convey this info to you. (My parents have been here in England for the last three weeks, which is probably why they haven't replied to you yet.) What I suggest is this. Either go to "www.cam.ac.uk" then click on email search and put in my first initial and surname, or, if you already know my initials (hint, the middle one is 'a') then put them all together, add the number thirty-five to the end, and @cam.ac.uk and you've my real email. I stopped using the hotmail one when it deleted all of my addresses and I had no one to email.

Sorry that sending me the magnet has been such a pain! I'm really pleased to be invited and will definitely be at the wedding. I've still got the question of A) where are we all staying???? GUYS? WE NEED A PLAN ON THIS!! B) What are we doing for Aeryk's Bachelor's Con (I know we can't discuss it here, lets email!) C) Can I bring Carrie to the wedding or is that a no-no? D)What exactly are the dates of all the stuff so that I can arrange my flights?

Can't begin to tell you all how the last few months have gone... it's been harrowing, and I'm still absolutely swamped. I'm NEVER going to go for another PhD again... that much I can promise. As for going into the coin business Aeryk -- you're on, I'll go into business with you doing ANYTHING... well, maybe not whoring, but other than that...

Ok, so I hope that helps. I'll try to post more as it seems to help my sanity. Glad to hear things are going relatively well with you all. Know that I am reading your posts, even if that's all I've time to do. Makes good breakfast reading...
Miss you guys.

Attack!!

Hey, sorry about that shit Rudy. I was outta town on Saturday, and Sunday was supposed to be our 3rd Year Anniversary D&D Game. Instead, it turned into 3-Year-Age-of-Mythology Game (har, har). What're you guys up to next Sat'dy? Hanging out would be fun. Maybe we could lie down out by the waterfront and get covered in ash while Menudo's "Vamos A La Playa" blares in the background, or maybe we could buy these $1.39 things I saw at Target the other day that are labelled in really big letters "EASY ENEMA KIT."

I picked up a fun-looking game called "Attack!" by the same company that made Age of Mythology. It looks pretty fun! It's a bit like Axis & Allies in complexity, but a bit like Risk in setup... that is, it seems like a reasonably deep game, but setup is not realistically localized by WWII standards. Anyway, it looks like a hoot, and hopefully we'll get to give it a shot sometime this week.
So why don't I have a silly wedding magnet?
To Mike Motorbyke

Here is the deal: I need your current address. I thought I had it, then when I sent something to it the mail was returned undeliverable, probably because you had a hold on your mail while you were at the dig you told none of us about. Anyway, thats why you have no silly wedding magnet.

Also, I called your parents house and they didn't answer and have not returned my message requesting your address.

Last I checked, your hotmail account was disabled.

So how the fuck am I supposed to get a hold of you?
In the Defense of the Indefensable

The original plan for Sunday was to play D&D with the standard group of sunday D&Ders (Eric, Jon, Peter, Laurie, and Denis) and we were to meet at noon. Around 2'o'clock that plan broke down when only Denis and Jon showed up with Peter calling and saying that he can't make it, his car is still broken and Laurie never called or came, so we decided to go ahead and play Age of Mythology. That is why you were not included in the sunday plans, Rudy. Saturday I was in Hanta Barbara, I don't know where Jon was.

Age of Mythology was a fun game though, just very long along the lines of 4+ hours....

b00

Me said: Dudes! How about this weekend we meetup for lunch or a game or somethin!?!1/

Oon said: As for this weekend... I don't think either Saturday or Sunday will work out for me, so I guess that's a no.

Oon then said: Me, Aeryk and Deniz Navidad got together and ended up playing the "Age of Mythologies" board game. A good time was had by all!

Not by all. BOOOOOO!

an fun time

So, another D&D game went to shit today, but it turned out all right. Me, Aeryk and Deniz Navidad got together and ended up playing the "Age of Mythologies" board game. A good time was had by all! It's basically a build-up-your-civilization-and-attack-the-others kind of game, and was good, if a bit long.

The other night I saw Matrix Reloaded again and liked it quite a bit more than I did originally. I still think the big freeway chase was about 5 minutes too long and the Agent Smith fight totally superfluous, but I really kind of hated the movie in the theater, and I really kind of liked it last night, so that's a step up.

Aeryk told me some guy ripped off my story idea for "Fuck." I'm going to kick the shit out of that fucker while wearing a leather jacket and puking.

update: check out this rpg.net thread for a pretty cool description of Caltech Ditch Day frivolity. Sometimes I wish I were smart....

he said what?

That Jay Leno story was funny as hell. I kept thinking about it today. That guy sounds like a jackass....
