Jonzo in gonzore
Jon: It sucks about the work thing, but I understand, being recently unemployed myself. I have taken this sweet Friday off to join my compatriots with fun in the sun of San Francisco. If the weather holds out, it looks to be a beautiful weekend. The weather has been unusually warm for this time of year at a balmy 65-75 degrees.
I threw down the bones to buy me a sweet copy of WFRP for 32.54 after tax. Three cheers for Borders discounts! It tis a nice book and I already have chewed through a nice bit of the book while sitting on the bus.

All right guys, convention time is nigh!
Eric: I don't actually HAVE your gmail account, so I sent my address to the 10d6 account instead. Give me a call tomorrow if that's a problem... and then give me a call when you get in.
OK, so my living room is basically unchanged from last time, I hope a couple of you have blankets because I only have a couple myself. Pillows I have plenty of. Eric, don't forget, your pillow is still here!
I cleaned the shower but now it's scary again.
Also I am afraid I'll have to roust you guys pretty early when I go to work on Thursday morning. Sorry about that, I know it sucks. But what better way to start the convention than with eye-gouging tiredness? Hopefully my roommate Alan will be around and then it will be a non-issue since he can let you guys out.
I will be working a lot a lot. I was hoping for at least Memorial Day off, but it is not to be. I'll be working until 6:00 on Friday, 4:00 on Saturday, and until 2:00 on Sunday. So I'll be able to swoop in, dazzle you all with my smoothness/roleplaying/boardgaming skills, and then in the morning, I'll be gone... only a faint smell of Mongolian BBQ in my wake....
Good times and bad bombin'!

SF gas is the best!
A nugget of gold in every tank. Well San Francisco has the highest gas prices in the country right now. Even higher than hawaii. 2.51 a gallon hooker-bots.
David does not think he can make the drive in his car. He did a little assessment of his car and he would need a new clutch, new tires, new brakes, and oil service. If he doesn't drive his car up, he can spread the cost out over a couple months. Rudy, what is your situation? Are you still coming up? Would David be able to hitch a ride up? He is really excitied to come up. He got uber excited over the WFRP.
Credit card companies are jarks. I missed a payment back in feburary. I got reported to the credit bureaus. I argued with Capital One for days over it and they would not listen to me. Guess what? All my interest rates on ALL but one of my cards went up 10%. Fuck that. I still dont think I ever received a statement for that missed payment. Das hookers. Fucking rats.
Work is still work. The days are fast and busy, the money is small, but at least I am solvent now. I wish I had overtime though. I could use some Jon hourage.
Eric: I feel the same way about Band of Brothers. I have watched it many times. Good shit. Gets me amped on minitures WWII die rollin'. Can not wait for some gaming action. I have not done much at all in the past few months. Boooo...

My new life
... essentially consists of commuting for 1.5 hours by train, train, and bus, working a full day plus 1.5 hours of overtime, commuting home another 1.5 hours and getting home around 9:00, eating a hurried dinner and then collapsing into bed. It's a far cry from my previous existence of aimless wandering, but at least I no longer find myself idly eyeing the gold teeth of passerby.
Another upside: I have tons of time for reading. Which means I've finished the WFRP book! Love the system, ready to play, ready to run! Yes, I can tell you how many drinks you can have before you have to make Consume Alcohol tests, and discuss with some authority the debate over Myrmidia's birthplace. I'm onto the Bestiary now. I almost picked up Plundered Vaults, but realized reading any adventures would make running anything at the con difficult for Enrique, so I held off. The adventures I have read are: the one in the main book, and the one that comes with the GM screen.
This is the first day in almost a week that I've been in my apartment for more than four continuous hours. Feels nice.
