Alrighty

All prepared and ready. I will be bringing my own blankets/pillows to the con. Rule. Weather is kinda shitty today. Cool and misty near the coast. Crappy on the bay side of the peninsula too. Weatherman is calling for a chance of rain tomarrow. It is supposed to be nice the rest of the weekend. For those times we do go out of the Hotel. For all those times. Like the time we left Ben on the Shitter to go to Bigsky Burgavich.

I hope you all have a good trip. Remember, if you need to get gas in the valley, do not get it until you are well north of the Grapevine. The stations in the vine and the ones within for the first 30 miles north of the vine are a bunch of thieves. I bet those hookers are over 3 bucks a gallon. The places after coalinga(~200 Miles from LA) are the best price wise.

Eat Eggs
thanks and thanks
Eric, you're weird.
Whatever u guys decide...

Jon: There is plenty of room, I have 1 small couch, 1 pullout futon bed, and a sleeping bag. I have several blankets, 2 pillows. It seems like I can accomodate 2 comfortable but maybe not 4. If Eric is going to drive, you might as well be comfortable and maybe bring a few extra pillows and blankets. It hasn't been that cold lately.

Eyrick: Address of the place is two zero zero zero Wal - nut ave Apt #H two oh five. Give me a buzz when you are here and i'll give you the gate key.

It's gonna be great!
Johnny

I'll Pay Both Denis and My Shares
that sucks, but ohwell. my biggest thing was that splitting the cost for gas over 4 people is a lot cheaper than splitting it with 2. but whatever. see u guys tonight.
Eric's Neurosis Kick In

I would like to drive too. So we can caravan, and it will still be loads of fun! My reasons are this:

- Fundamentally I have a neurosis that rarely, if ever, allows myself to be driven by others, particularly on a long drive. I just need to be behind the wheel, call it control, call it whatever, I just feel better if I am behind the wheel.

- We need more room. My project, that really isn't much of a secret anymore, won't fit in Rudy's car, and I would like to bring it. Also, it just seems wrong to bring like 3 games because of space restrictions, so I can load up my backseat with stuff too, not to mention the room freed up by me (and probably Denis) not sitting the the Scion.

- Hopefully Denis will ride with me as co-pilot.

- I think we should caravan, unless that becomes to dangerous and then we can just meet up at points along the way or something like that.

Sorry to be weird, its just this thing I have. I am prepared to take all the jokes and crap for my decision!

PS I need your address again Johnny and your parking code so we can get to your place tonight and park! Call me! nine one eight eight seven zero zero!
I'll be at Eric's around 7:30, then. What about foodage? Should I eat beforehand, or should I plan on us driving thru somewhere?

I'm bringing five games, my li'l black bag, a backpack, some clothes, and an amusing book.

Johnny--blankets and pillows? do you have enough for everybodyz to use tonight, or do we need to bring those things?

The games I have on my desk are: Game of Thrones, Puerto Rico, Titan: The Arena, Citadels, and Programmer's Nightmare. Anything else?

Awesomeage!!!
Righty oh,

I'll try to be at Eric's around 7ism?

Games I'm packing:
Blood Bowl minis
Once Upon A time
Gregory Horror Show

have fun, doods!
try and get there by 7:30 if possible so we can pack it up and then try and leave before 8:30 - if thats cool. roll the dice!
Earlier?

It might be bettar to meet earlier, that way we get out of here at a decent hour and don't wake Johnny up at 4am, earlier is always bettar imho. Some points:

- Less is better this trip. There really is not as much room as you might remember there being, I checked the car today to see if I could load my Kubla-project and it will be difficult to the max. I think we are going to be limited to like 1 1/2 bags each and then perhaps 2 or 3 storage boxes of games total. Again, it would be good to get here early to check it all out.

- That being said, what should we bring? Other than Axis and Allies:D-Day, Bang!, and Blood Bowl, I don't know what to bring, if anything? As long as Battle Cry will be there, I'll be happy!

That is all for now.
OK, are we meeting up at Eric's at 8:30 tomorrow night, then? Eric, I'll be at yuor house by then.

Maybe on Sunday we should leave earlier than 10:30 so that we do not veer off the road causing Rudy's Scion to explode, but that's just me....
alight kiddoes...

when and where is everybody coming in at? I hope it's not 5 ocklock in the morning again =) I can be a little more appropriately dressed. I did have a shirt on, i think (not what eric said)... sleep pants, fo shizzle.

CONVENTIUN THYMES!!!

I'll buy an extra beer for michael, who'll be there in spirit! Hazzah!

Did you hear when he was trying to pronounce Abu Ghraib?

"Abu Gah... reb." He messed up a couple of times after that.

He probably hadn't heard of it before last night, though.
harry potter and teh prizanar of abu-ga-rape?!

If you guys saw shrubs speech last night, one thing he said he wanted to do was demolish Abu Ghraib and put up a new modern maximum security prison! What a pal! I'm sure the people are dancing in the street. He was all "Saddam did lots of terrible things there," and then he mentioned "a couple of disrespectful troops too" - probably more than just a COUPLE cawksucker. Anyways, someone from the Iraqi Governing Council made a really good point about Shurbz plan:

Mahmud Othman, a Kurd sitting on the US-installed Governing Council, said that he wanted the prison to be turned into a museum to the crimes that took place there under former president Saddam Hussein's regime and US guards.

"While I can understand the wish to abolish Abu Ghraib, to remove the memory and the stain on the reputation of those who perpetrated the criminal acts against its prisoners, I personally don't think a building itself has a meaning, positive or negative," said Sumaidy.

Common fucking sense. So frustrating, my god!

I Lost Yourz 2

erlix: check out here for VERY new gbaz: http://gba.ouroad.org/index.php?act=newroms - and note, they tell u what the roms megabit size is: i think with yer 256mb card, it means megabits, not bytes - thats why they say "on a 256mb car u can hold an average of 8 gba roms. Won't know till we miss with it though - good luck!

worthwhile read:

HERE! It's from 60 minutes - a general's perspective on things - plus tom clancy co-wrote his book! ehhh.... need brains!!!
Skull n' Bones Strikes Again!

Here's my theory. And, as Bad Religion taught me, sometimes truth is stranger than fiction (watch-oh!). You guys heard about bush "falling off his bike" and getting all bruised and scraped up the other day? Well, rememeber during the 1st year or so of his presidency, he was in the news all fucked-up looking - I don't remember if that was the pretzel incident or when he had cysts removed from his face- either way, he was all banged-up in the face. I rememeber that on that weekend it happened last was some crazy skull-n-bones holiday/anniversary/reunion or something like. THIS weekend when he got all fucked up is when his kid graduated from Yale, and he actually stayed there for a night at the dean's house or some shit. What if all these times he's having accidents, he's really getting his ass kicked by the skullnbones or something. I'm serious guys. You never know (watch-oh!)

Cool News Piece about filmaker Ken Burns giving a the graduation speech this weekend at Yale (that bush kid skipped out on the ceremony) and he got some good rips in at bush co.
"Steel yourselves. Your generation must repair this damage, and it will not be easy," Burns told the seniors.
Burns quoted famed jurist Learned Hand as saying, "Liberty is never being too sure you're right."
"Somehow recently, though, we have replaced our usual and healthy doubt with an arrogance and belligerence that resembles more the ancient and now fallen empires of our history books than a modern compassionate democracy," Burns said, to applause from the 1,300 graduates and their families and friends.

-Rawk Off
so, what time are we leaving on thurday? 8:30ish? There really isn't much parking up here, so I really wouldn't mind getting u guys from HB.

Someone needs to make a pill that turns off your bladder/pisser for like a few hours at a time. Once I open the gate, its not stop for me.

Mike!!!!

The action plan for thursday should be as follows:

- Denis and Jon should come to my place and one can park in the driveway, and the other can use the guest parking pass.
- We should gather games and shiite.
- We could then drive to you Rudy if there is place to park my car over the weekend, or you can come and get us. Remember that if you get us, you will have to drop us off monday morning at like 3.30, which will be teh sux for you.
- Last year I left around 8.30pm and arrived at Jael's around 1 or 2am. I stopped for gas once, and stopped for food once.
- I then left sunday night at 10.30pm, and got home around 3am with one stop for coffee and gas on the way, although it was a bee-yatch to find a coffee/gas station open at night.

That was how I did it and it worked out well I thought, particularly when I had the wrong code to get in the gate at Jaels and had to call him and have him come out in his sweats and workboots, no shirt, to let me in. Then I ate Cocoa Pebbles, that makes any plan complete.
Sausage fo fre!

The Trader Joe's Chicken and Turkey sausages are pretty darn good too. They have a few different flavors that are tasty.

Myke, we will miss you at the Con, but join us in spirit, totally. I mean dont even sweat it, you be there. At least in spirit. Sounds like you have made good headway on the paper... Good Luck. Keep up the Brutarh work.

Giznad the Brilliant
Have fun storming the castle!

Its been a long time since I had a moment to blog, but I've been reading most of the time over breakfast, so just wanted to wish you guys a good time at the Con (unless I'm mistaken and its already happened?) Anyway, I wish I were coming along and all I can say is, hold on guys, it won't be long now before I'm home.

Been writing an average of 2500 words a day and now have 77,000 words of my 80,000 limit for the PhD. Pity that I've still got three chapters to write! Doh! Get out that yellow highlighter. With that you can probably imagine I've done little else.

The news these days is just so awful that its hard to make yourself stay current on it, and yet if we don't I dread to imagine what will happen. I have to admit my own schedule allows me to wander around in blissful ignorance sometimes, even though its not good.

Righto. More later on.

Myke
