thanks enron - i went to fry's and got a new ati 512mb card (bout $120) and slapped it in and things seem to be working fine. Only thing Im worried about is if something else in the machine caused the old card to burnout. Maybe fan problems or power. My comp stays on pretty much 24/7 and its been a couple years, so that mighta just been it.
Uggg...

That don't sound so good RuDog. I would try a driver reinstall first on the off chance a driver file or config file has been corrupted. Also if you have installed any new peripherals lately it could be a conflict. If that does not do the trick, most likely your video card is fuX0r3d. Another possibility is that another sub-system like the MoBo or the PSU is having issues and they are only manifesting themselves through the video card (sometimes power supply issues can cause these problems), but seems more the case that the 3d processor in the card has some faulty transistors or failed memory based on your description.

Ok, need emergency computer guru-help! I think my video card is fried. Last couple nights been gettin garbled screen and redraw problems. THen today it just got to the point where it would freeze and just be unreadable. Thought monitor was dead but put monitor on other comp, worked fine, then tried diff monitor on my comp, same messed-up display. SO, the only thing I've found that lets me use the computer is if i completely turn of hardware accelartion. Does that mean the card is bad? :( HELP!
Speaking of football.. this was pretty funny:

(damn, watch it fast.. these are getting shut down across the web by NBC real quick-like)

nooooooo ryan, tate was cool as hell in high school. I liked him. He was like uber-football lookin dude, but i remember he was smart too and talked to our group - so nice! congrats to them, that's really awesome.

didnt read your post yet jon but got as far as "u guys should go" - rad, glad its going good!
Wow Ryan, many congratulations to Brandi and Tate. That's awesome. I don't know Brandi that well so to me she is still in like 6th grade. Tate was always a really good guy, one of those people who is friendly to everybody. In our 8th grade animation class we made Hypercard cartoons about how fruity the other was. Also he is big, so if you have any enemies you now have somebody in the family whom you can expect to destroy the opposition.

France is awesome guys, you gotta check it out sometime. We haven't even seen any of the really famous touristy shite (although we might go to the Arc de Triomphe tonight). The whole city is just an amazing looking piece of art unto itself and all in all does not make me regret missing precious work or World of Warcraft. So far I really like the country even though they did not help us fight Al Qaeda and track down the WMD. PS plz don't tell Rush Limbaugh that part thx.
Has to be the same guy. He is also the son of my 7th grade social studies teacher. They have been dating for 2 years and living together for a little over a year, so this was the next natural progression. Again, I am really stoaked for them. Despite what you may have thought about him in high school, he is a really good guy, treats my sister well and she loves him a lot. I think they will do well.
tate, the big football player from our school!?

My sister Brandi got engaged this weekend. I am really happy for her and Tate. They are a great couple of people and should produce alpha children eventually.

I talked to James Fujikake on Friday. He moved to Chicago for work. Lenka, his wife, is expecting their second child. Life goes on.

Rad.
