EAAAAAAT!

This made me laugh. It made me laugh harder the longer I listened to it. LOL.

CORN ON THE COB... CORN ON THE KABOB

Poverty. Not so fun. Although, when looking at *real* poverty as it exists throughout the rest of the world, and then looking at our country's poor.. our country's poor have it pretty damned good comparatively. I was watching a special on illegal immigrants, and one of them was talking about living in a "poor" neighborhood here on the U.S. side. He said he felt like a king because he had three hot meals a day, beer, a television to watch as much as he liked and still had money left over to send home to Mexico. It wasn't fine living by much of America's standards, no. But, I thought it was an interesting perspective.

On a semi-related note. I've been thinking about the impending entitlement crisis in this country. It seems to me that the real reform that needs to happen is that social security be treated like an insurance program. If we get to retirement and have enough money to live on, then we shouldn't receive social security benefits. If we are struggling (at whatever arbitrary line is established), then payments kick in to cover the difference. Plus, I think we should give people the option to opt-out of social security (at least at a reduced contribution or something) as long as they have documneted contributions into IRA-style accounts of their chosing. Hell, even if we will get social security payments, the rate of return is less than the rate of inflation! (Which, I suspect, is one of the real reasons the program is in place still anyway.. it keeps the rate of inflation on the dollar artificially low by sucking out 15 percent of everyone's gross pay out of the market). Also, if we are allowed to invest our own dollars towards retirement, then we will have more "winners" and "losers" in the capitalistic playing field.. which will further widen the gap between the rich and poor. It's kind of a revolving shitter.. how to establish an equal playing field without undue restrictions on innovation and success and simultaneously provide a quality safety net for the less fortunate, able or what have you.

Anyway.. I'm rambling now. Eric is coming! Eric is coming!

Wheeeeeeee!

Out.

Glimpse of Poverty

Enjoy your jobs/$100 dollar wines/$20 dollar steaks guys... seriously. I was just rummaging through some papers and I saw how much they paid for a worker here. 177 pesos per day 8 hours, that's 45 cents an hour. That's equality of capitalism. That's not deducting taxes just yet. They work 6 days a week for 26 days of the month and only rake in 4600 gross. 4000 net. That's 80 bucks a month. So anyone complaining about how much they made?

Sure we all become a little shortsighted at the glitz and the glamour in our quest to gain material wealth as we live in also a faster paced globule. And of course we'd all like to strive for that, but keep in perspective. There are truly impoverished people in the world. Those really rich should truly set some goals for themselves and help the world. Damn the rich, Damn the poor.

Alright, I'm kinda somber after that realization, but on the brighter side, I'm working on my company incorporation papers, hiring an employee and buying a car, making licensing and registration with the Health dept. It's all going very slow and i'm not making progress any quicker especially since i have to work in the mornings, but it's goin. In fact, not being able to buy a car yet and being immobile is my biggest bane, despite it sounds like such a minute task.
Good luck at STFU!

(seriously)

E-dog: I still think you're a little bit Howard Hughes for not staying at our place in a nice, big, comfortable bed. Plus, you can wander downstairs anytime you like in the morning and have some good breakfast or any other meal you so desire.. without having to get geared up and motorized concurrently. Also, Michelle says you should bring Leslie and Wylie along.

Anyhow, we're on like Banga-Donkey-Kong. Let's harang out on Sunday afternoon, do some dinnerage, then.. and then.. and then.. (no and then!) .. hell, I forgot what I was going to say. Type. Whatever. Fuck you.

/end of line

P.S. I just checked in on Fantasy Hockney and you're #1! Huzzah for Elrockenstein!
Wish me luck!

The big interview is all day on Monday so say a prayer or sacrifice to Cthulhu or something for me. Must pretend like I'm really good at Latin for a whole day so that I can do it for the rest of my life! It would be awsome to get the SFSU job - let's hope!

Totally amped to have this over with so that I have some semblance of a life again. Aeryk/ Dennis get ready for some action. Still up for Warmachine, or even ASL, or even Bloodbowl (must get them to send those Khemri sprues...)

Ok, maybe at some point I'll something to post that is as interesting to you guys as your posts are to me. Maybe... or maybe I'm going to be boring forevar! TIME WILL TELL!

Mykake
Also.. the best thing I've seen on Al Gore's interwebnet all day:

Seriously. Click this and enjoy. Immenseley. Or. Immensley. Or. Something like that.
Okie dokie then!

I'll alert NORAD.

Hmmmm

"If Wylie and Haylee did get married, what would that make us, exactly?"

Old men. That's what it would make us. Old, old men.

Oh yeah, I mean I'm coming THIS weekend, motherfcuker.

Hold on to your potatoes!
/Short Round
April 1st! FaJesus!

Wow. That's coming fast. Hang on tight, brother, because it just keeps going faster. Haylee looked at me the other morning (after climbing up on the dining room bench to sit at the table.. WTF!), pointed at the bowl of oatmeal in the middle of the table and said 'OATMEAL', matter of factly .... I seriously had to stand there for a minute and process the fact that my little kid actually said something to me in English, that she understood the connection, and was asking me for oatmeal, specifically. It was a surreal moment. Heh.

If Wylie and Haylee did get married, what would that make us, exactly?

ABSOLUUUTELY NOTHING!!

/spaceballs

The coffee thing was more of a meet basic grading criteria project, and try to have some fun doing it. I actually have updated the file to a near-complete state. I just need to screw with some of the timing on the frames and I'm through with it. Here:

edit: it ain't linking.. can't figure it out and I'm too tired to screw with it.

But, seriously.. hanging out on Mondays works fine for me. I have a 4pm class that I have to leave for at about 3:25-ish to make on time, but other than that, my day is pretty well open. We could chill during the day and you could either hang in the computer lab at the campus or meander off on your own for a few hours (class is over at 6:50pm). Then, dinner and more intercourse.

Which weekend are you coming up, exactly? (BTW.. the "other" mystery guest seems to be a no-show.. so conflict of schedule would seem to be a non-issue).

Game development moves forward! We're almost done with a functional proof-of-concept demo level. The basic geometry is complete, I believe the character creation screens are completed, and the newest character-model (Global Peace Authority Rifleman) and the latest weapon, the FA-112 are being rigged and animated as we speak. All the hooks for skill modifiers and whatnot aren't in place just yet, so there will be forced data for some of the HUD functionality and character values. But, it looks like both the GPA and MDF HUD layouts are about done at this point, and now we're really just banging away hard on producing props of all assorted sizes and flavors and on texturizing the main building. There's a pretty sweet defensive-mounted laser turret that's been completely modelled and textured, too. Can't wait to see that bad boy in action. There's also a couple of "fun" suprises in store for the level too. Weee!
Coffee Project Inspired By Project: Haylee, perhaps?

ART: Anyhoo, I plan on hitting LV perhaps sunday night and monday night. I can get a room CHEAP at the Santa Fe Station ($39). I would imagine leaving sometime sunday (morning-noon-night) and probably just crashing out. Maybe some hookers, maybe some crimes, who knows. Then monday we can talk shop and hang with the Hay-meister. Sound feasable?

Mike: Good luck with whatever is going on this weekend!

Enron: Sup foo. Haven't heard from you in awhile. Made any mad cash yo from the sale of the complex you manage? Car situation? Any armoire's in the bedroom yet so as to be able to see the carpet beneath the clothes?

Jon: Talked to Peter yesterday. Blackheart Peter, NOT Peterz Bathroom Peter. We are going to try and get together for some gaming festivities in the near future when he returns from Oklahoma visting some friends.

Rude: Get cracking on those tunes! Badge of Blood is going to be a mega hit, and you need to be on board! Also, I use the EZ-Flash II 256Mb for my GBA ROM's and it works like a charm. So easy. And it works on the DS quite swimmingly. Do it!

Jael: How goes the Vitamins? Enron should send you the MP3 of the song "Vitamens" by Supernova. You should play that song all the time for your employees to help bolster morale and keep them focused on their jobs. Enron and I listened to it every morning when we were in school at SDSU, and it pumped us up for the day!

Denis: Never reads this anyway. We'll play some Runebound this weekend to great success!

Ryan: Ryan has a girlfriend! Ryan has a girlfriend! Ryan has a girlfriend! (To be said in a childish taunting voice). Oh yeah, Ryan never reads this anymore either.

Eric: Hmm, let's see here -

- Wylie is due right around April 1st, which means he could go through life thinking his life is a joke. And hopefully Haylee and Wylie never get married or become a couple cause man, those names are just too similar. Not like if Jon and Aaron got together. Those are two totally different sounding names.

- I have not surfed since my birthday, and I am sad about that.

- I have been reading Knights of the Dinner Table Magazine again, and it is awesome! No longer just a comic, it is a great gaming magazine! Check it out!

- The Kings have just dropped 7 in a row. So what new?

- I FINALLY was able to purchase a mount for WoW. Only took me 45 levels of priest to do it. Not to mention the 43 levels of hunter that I failed with previously under the guise of Docnorvell....

- That is all because I have become far too boring.

So, I'm working on a small assignment for my graphic arts class, which is to design a web-ready banner advertisement-ish thing for a coffee company.. so it's nearly finished but at the point where I think it's so lame that it's almost funny.. and that I aught to share it with you guys so you can laugh at me too. Heh.

[edited out.. new version posted above]

Wow... great blog site

http://www.michaelyon-online.com/wp/gates-of-fire.htm

That story was one of the best narratives i've read in a long time.
Funny in-game video from WoW:

DAMMIT LEROY! (LOL)
SUPER BOWL! WOOOOOO!

We're having a couple of friends over to watch all the commercials (and maybe a little football, too).. I'm going to whole foods here in just a minute to pick up a half pound of pre-sliced sashimi-grade fish to use in various rolls and sushi dishes. SO GOOD. Anyway.. hope everyone's favorite unofficial national holiday is a good one!

Wheee!
