It's pretty crazy. The hail and lightning stopped not too long after it started, but it's cold as hell. Also, closer towards the beach, I guess there was some snow. It never snows around here! Our atrium is full of halfway melted hail. It looks like a winter wonderland!

May I take your order?
dude! that's nuts! little raining earlier today but they said we'd be getting hail and all that (none so far!) i know its snowing not to far away where some of my coworkers live. End of the world!
DAMN!

I don't know what the weather is like for you guys, but it is insane here. I just walked out of the video store and just as I did lightning struck a building not a hundred feet away. I've never been that close to a lightning strike and the explosion was insane. So I picked up the pace to get home and as I was walking down the block, there were at least 4 more lightning strikes. Then hail started falling, in tiny chunks at first, and then big rocks. Note: hail hurts. Got the heart pounding, I tell you.
im doing the 14-day free trial of EveOnline, and I dunno, I'm kinda digging it. So different from wow and all the other mmo's i tried recently - and if it's a free korean mmorpg or trial of any of the older mmos i've tried em recently - even some betas. So i dunno - there's a bug in the new patch that's basically got a big ol memory leak or something - crashes pretty consistanty (have to turn off computer ouch) but its pretty interesting. true, you can afk out of a whole lot of the game and do other stuff, but there's something appealling. lemme try a few more days.
Me and my Pavlovian responses:

So I was driving down the freeway coming home from school yesterday and all of a sudden I found myself getting a little bit angry and pissed for no aparent reason.. and then it hit me. "Bark at the Moon" was playing on the radio, very softly (nearly inaudibly) in the background as I was driving.. LOL..

Too funny.

The Jeeerman Squad!

Bad idea to mess with those guys or kill their leader, cuz like in Seven cities of gold, you kill the tribal leader and they go berzerk on your ass. And there's no gold! Rock on mike, way to revenge it against the bloody americans! Molest their precious victory locations and keep it from the cronies.

I almost got a driving ticket the other day. Slipped a few hundred pesos and I was home free... Ahhh yeah... pretty sweet actually. I was comparing the cops in the states vs cops here. Off hand you would say cops in the states are better because they aren't as corrupt but you know what? Some Still are. There are tons of bad cops that gives the good cops bad names, so what's the diff? Just the cops here will give you a break if you give him a few hundred pesos. At least he doesn't just give a break selectively to some hot ass with legs. If traffic violation corruption is the worst it gets here, then it's fine by me.

TiVo will no longer offer a lifetime subscription option starting next week. Price changes went into effect as well.

Ass, Ass, or Ass, no one rides for free.

I better look into replacing my TiVo hard drive before my it gets any longer in the tooth and dies.

"check boardgamegeek.com to see if the decks in Scarab Lords are infact unbalanced"

Those are beautiful, beautiful words.

Glad to hear about your gaming bonanza! I am excited like a little girl on... like... My Little Pony release day (?) because Enron is coming by to eat pizza, drink beer, and build some wargame terrain. Weekend before last we bought a mammoth 4'x8' piece of foam at Home Depot Pro. ($18.97 cheap!) Naturally the wind and rain started just as we walked it to the exit. When the electric doors opened the wind acted on the mammoth foam like a sail, practically sucking Enron out into the parking lot.

Wait... he's here! YES!

Later!

OK, now I am probably a little more brain-damaged from foam fumes and dust, HOWEVER, there are eight fancy pants hills covered in paint drying on my table. YES!

Update-a-GoGo

- Kublacon, I am out like trout. As much as I would like to be there at the best convention in the world, with the best room in the world, I need to be with the best little man in the world.

- Leslie is bursting at the seams right now! I think Wylie will be fully cooked here in the next 2 weeks, so any time after that, he very well may make his presence known. Our due date is April 8th, but 3 weeks early has been known to happen on a regular basis, so holy crap(!), I may be a dad in the next 2 - 3 weeks!

- Played some ASL with Mike, and henceforth, if any representation of a unit, or squad, or even a single person, warjack, etc. ever goes ballistic, and defies all odds, and continues surviving unending onslaughts of fire, waves of enemy rushing past them, and does so with aplomb and professionalism, despite overwhealming odds, and facing certain death, they shall be known as "The J Squad".

J Squad, an elite german unit, took beating after beating, the loss of their leader (who was also the best leader on in the game), broke several times, and still recoved in multiple timely manners, so as to repel my American forces as they attempted to storm their position and flood past to the sweet, sweet victory conditions beyond. In the end I was 2 VP's (of 15) from winning, and I attribute the loss the J Squad!

- Played some ASL with Peter the Blackheart this past weekend too. Good times for me.

- Have not heard from Denis in some time. WTF? He bailed on attending the con with me, and has not returned my calls since. Ohshitnowhesmad!!!

- Been listening to "The Dice Tower" podcast recently. It passes the time nicely as Leslie and I drive to Cedars-Sinai, 3 - 5 times a week for classes and doctors appointments. The hosts are Joe Steadman and Tom Vasel. Jon may recognize Tom as a rather prolific game reviewer, and is an avid Eurogamer. He, more or less, hates all wargames. Tom on the otherhand, loves wargames and, for the most part, despises Eurogames. So there are nice divergent top ten lists from both of them, as well as reviews of games and commentary. I enjoy it fairly well! Leslie is also liking the show, and has infact begun to adopt some gaming terms into her vernacular! Out of the blue she told me to "check boardgamegeek.com to see if the decks in Scarab Lords are infact unbalanced"!!!!!
