NO WAY!!! IS THAT THE LONGEST DAY mapboard??? by Ancient Avalon hill?
You have that game? If you do, Setup baby, or read the rulez and wait till I get back. Did you know that The longest day has I think over 2000 chits and the average game takes 3 days?
Assuming that that's what that game is by the magnitude of the map. but if it isn't, alls well that ends well.
Always wanted to play that game though, At least once... I'd die knowing I accomplished at least that. Did I also tell you that an unpunched copy goes for over 100 bucks?
Johnny
EDIT: I swore I would never spend money buying another game. BUT

Large scale wargg!
I'd have fun. I am sure you would too eLzaR. I always loved the look of the large sprawling maps with a zillion chits on them. I must confess I have an almost obsessive interest in maps and information flow, so this works for me. But besides that, I donno, those types of war sims have a calm practicality to simulating a large scale combat scenario with a reasonable amount of realism. eLzar, We will get to do that some day; hopefully, in the next year or so, depending of course on your relocation ventures. Not only will we be able to say that we did it, but that we enjoyed it.
I went and saw A Scanner Darkly tonight. I really like the rotoscoping visuals; a realistic more human animation, although maybe a bit plastic at times. Yet, the almost 'posterized' version of life, plays off really well against the drug theme central to the plot. Anyway, at times it seemed a bit irreverent and slow paced, yet entertaining and others quite humorous or serious minded. The great part is that the drug use is neither truly glorified nor are vilified. The movie sort of portrays both sides (drug use and enforcement) as malignant and self destructive in their own ways. Add to this that the story is twisted in that 'Philip K Dick kind of way' and it makes for a very interesting voyage. From what I understand, the script very closely follows the book. Anyway, I enjoyed it, but I could see some people not digging it. Check it out at your own risk.

Mr. Jael, I got three people's names for handling sourcing at the company and it would be kinda retarded for you to email all of them, so I shot an email to the guy who I -think- is probably the one doing most of the legwork. Waiting for a response from him to make sure I'm barking up the right tree, then I'll pass the info along once I know who you should deal with.
Generally, I've come to grips that any movie with Ben Stiller in it is going to suck in direct ratio to the amount of lines and screen time he has. I think he is the humor anti-christ. So un-funny, it hurts to watch him try to overcompensate for his total lack of comedic ability by being OMFG OVER THE TOP EVERYONE LOOK AT ME BE A HYPERBOLIC RETARD!
Yeah I agree with Art on this one. Wedding Crashers definately pretty darn funny! On the otherhand, Something About MAry, pretty darn unwatchable to this movie critic! I dunno why, have never been able to finish it. It's like an American Pie movie. Saw the 1st one with John, other than that, never been able to watch one of those turds.
The movie wasn't as funny as the regular series' shows, IMO. I still thought it was funny, and was pee-my-pants-laughing in a few parts. But, for making a "OMFG, JACKASS THE MOVIE!", I thought it was kind of filled with too many "meh" bits.
You know a movie that totally caught me off guard because I thought it would suck, but wound up being pretty damned funny was Wedding Crashers. Not bad at all.

Movies
I thought 40 year old virgin was pretty funny. But just that. Too much situational humor. Although I did like it more than There's something about Mary. That one had its moments, but it never really did it for me like so many others. Not my thing I guess.
Jackass was pretty damn funny. Perhaps not the funniest movie I have ever seen, but definately up there in the top few... Yeah Steve-O is a jerk. I guess that is why we hung out with Rich. He was an ass, but the dick/depravational humor was good at times. You can only take so much of it though. I donno, in a lot of the great comedy sets, the jerk is the funniest. Homer, at his worst is great. Bender. Seinfeld crew. Etc... When they are jerks, they are on. But not to mean.. Its a fine line. Steve-O definately walks that line on both sides.
j0rn, skip the entire movie until the lawnmower. The scene is just amazingly prodigious in its gore and blood. The rest of the movie is just boring crap.

Well, I thought both were hilarious. I can't remember ever laughing so hard in the theater as when I saw Jackass.
40-Year-Old Virgin has so many awesome little moments that it just gets better on repeated viewings. "When I remove the blade that I keep in my boot from its sheath I cannot return it until it has spilt blooood!"
And King Kong sucked ass. I think Peter Jackson has made two good movies:
-- The Frighteners (only good the first time)
-- Heavenly Creatures (excellent)
Everything else is mediocre. Return of the King is all right. I haven't seen the one with the zombie lawnmower massacre. I can probably just watch the relevant scene on Youtube or something....
Jael, I haven't forgot about ya. Well, I forgot about ya a little today (I got stuck in a bunch of meetings). But I won't forget ya tomorrow!

Bizarro Eric, Meet Bizarro Art
I dunno, I wanted 40-year Old Virgin (unrated) to be funnier. It was funny, but not as funny as I thought it would/could have been.
As for movies that made me gut-laugh until I thought I'd pee myself, Jackass is the most recent installment. Holy shit, that was funny!
(These are my exact feelings about both of these movies, just bizarro. Weird.)

Ding Dong
Lest us not forget that Peter Jackson also made some pretty shitty movies himself post-LOTR. Well one movie so far.
Yeah I am pretty stoked to see Jackass no. 2. Man the first one was some serious crazy shit your pants funny humor. But people either love or hate that type of physical humor. I grew up on that kind of humor, so it works for me. Beat sticks n', "The Rule Game", and ball busting. Still funny... How old am I? Obviously not old enough yet.

Jackass
Pound for pound, Jackass is the best comedy movie around. There is nowhere that you could possibly get the same amount of laughs for $7.50, or whatever movies cost these days.
I laughed SO hard when Jon and I saw that movie, it was ridiculous. Ugly, pee in your pants, laughing.
I had no idea there was going to be a Number Two, and I cannot wait! Jeezus, I'm going to go watch the blind-bullfighting and rocket bike off ramp clips again.
Genius.
And Cabin Fever was the worst movie ever made. Peter Jackson can say all he wants, he made some pretty shitty movies himself pre-LOTR, and believe me, Cabin Fever is the film equivalent of getting the runs.

hbaha, that was pretty funny. why was lucas in that though!?! or was that spielbeargo - whoever, how random was that shit??
never saw the 1st jackass - cannot get into those guys. And i'm sure cabin fever wasnt THAT bad! Peter Jackstone's quote: "Brilliant! Horror fans have been waiting years for a movie like 'Cabin Fever.' Um, no mention of self-punch-stomaching! :) And supposedly he halted production on LOTR 3 to have the cast and crew watch a screening of it. Now I GOTTA see it!
Snakes On A Plane. I had NEVER heard of this shit? Jesus, I'm on the fucking internet ALL day EVERYday and I still can't keep up with all the internet jokes n shit. Well, I dunno - sounds like a pretty sweet idea haha.

Asps! Very dangerous! You go first!
Snakes looks like it could be good. I hope it isnt just a heap of shit that has been over-hyped through viral marketing. What a wierd concept that a movie so unintentionaly becomes so big before it is ever released. Especially a movie that didnt have a history prior to the start of development.

Being bored can inspire some of the greatest creations
Oooo... Lobster + Tongue. That is tip-top. I had no idea they were planning on making a second one. Nice.
Never saw Cabin Fever. Never really wanted to either but what ever chances of me seeing it on cable or something have now been totally removed. Unless of course I am forced to watch it Clockwork Orange style.
Ja -El: eli whatever cotton lookin' mofo? I think the name you are looking for is Eli Whitney.
I like Koo-Ta-Loo.

I already laughed my ass off... just at the preview. I don't know about y'all, but I am psyched about this movie, and it comes out on my birthday!
And, yes, I did jump out of a plane. I definately won't put it up on youtube, but if anyone wants to see it and is in town, I will show it.
EDIT: Cabin Fever was the fucking worst movie that I have ever seen... the worst. If that is true about Peter Jackson, he must have been slipped money, or had a gun to his head or some shit. Ughhh. I actually just punched myself in the stomach for thinkning about this movie.

Cabin Fever and Cthulhu
Cabin Fever is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Ryan and I watched it the night before I got married, and hated it so, so much, that we actually created the pastime of punching ourselves in the stomach, or leg, because anything was better than watching that horrible movie.
The pastime has carried on and is still going strong, so whenever you are doing something that you hate, or want to show others around you that you would rather be doing ANYTHING than what you are doing right now, punch yourself in the stomach. It's fun.
I would rather punch myself in the head than watch Cabin Fever again.
As far as Cthulhu adventures, I am familiar with most all of them, particularly Masks, only because I started running it for yooz guys. Why do you ask? If it's because you want to run something, then I take it all back, I know nothing and can't wait to play!

ya its weird, that guys 1st movie "cabin fever" (which i havent seen either) was all super hyped up by famous dudes. the dvd has like some mega-quote from Peter Jackson (right after LOTRs mind you) about what an amazing director and/or movie thingy. This just must be some popular dude. It's the Jeff Stimfig of horror flicks
