Also, it looks like there is a demo for HALO PC now - 130 odd megs. I was so amped to get it when it came out, but i didnt, and I noticed there really hasn't been too many people playing it online (stats at gamespy.com) - SO, i skipped it. I'll get the demo and sheck it out tho.
Update: Eh - its pretty weak. A lot of fun on the xbox with everyone around, but on the pc is seems SO sluggish and just really boring.

Boooorrrrd Boooorrrrd
That's my dove sound. Hey guys! I got the Scion XB which is the BOX-Like car. It fuckin rocks. All the crazy race-car driving guys at my work love it and they're suggesting all kinds of mods I should do. I don't have the money for it, but FUCK I can sorta see how it could become an obssesion.
My girlfriend bought me Quicksilver as a surprise yesterday. Oh man, I'm seeing someone! 1 month or so, so far. pretty cool.

So this is what it sounds like when doves cry. My heart is broken for so many reasons. The "fan" shouldn't have tried to catch the ball; the dumb asshole shortstop shouldn't have made an error; they should have won. I am jaded and really sick and fucking tired of saying, "Maybe next year." Even though the Cubs' season was improbable, nay, remarkable, I truly believe they are cursed. Fuck. I am jaded.
Eric and Aaron, I apreciate your empathy. It is crappy when your team gets so close then pulls the rug out from under you.
The front page of the LA Times really says it all. Okay, now I am over it.

Heh... hey now....
Funny that you should mention "Better Luck Tomorrow". I just got that from my netflix rental queue and returned it last week. It would be funny if you got that right after I did. I found the whole "Academic Decathalon" thing hilarious. Just kept thinking how lame Fauver was (Yes, the man is a facist propaghandist for many reasons) and are Academic Decathalon leaders just all suck.
As for the Learner and Yakanishi incident, funny that they DID get caught, unlike the hoodlums in the show who seemingly got away with murder in the end, which seemed kinda ridiculous. Kill the guy, get the girl... eh... what-eva nigga. What a slut that girl was too... she probably likes it er... . yeah.
I was trying to find some similarities in the beginning but I think the similarities sorta ended with Asian, SAT's, Girls, Computer Products, and being smart... well, we can even skip the last one. Let's face it, I was never the token asian on the Mira costa basketball team, guess affirmative action back in the 80's were still a little new for a school like costa. I was never good at basketball anyhow but that's what AA's all about eh!? Plus the guys I hung out with, we didn't have guns or sold coke... although we should have... bad mistake.

yeah, keep on going, 'cause I'm the ultimate gangster
I've been pretty good lately. Still reading a shit ton; I finished one long book, am reading some turbo-intellectual short stories by a guy named Borges (so I look like I'm smart, even though I have no fucking idea what's going on), and I'm wondering if I should read something shorter before diving into Quicksilver. (Note: not literally. That shit is poisonous!)
Also been reading a shit ton of RPG shizat. My Exalted read-fest continues unabated, and I've been looking through the mass of stuff available for Savage Worlds. That's a generic RPG designed to run quickly and have little bookkeeping/prep time. I find that as life moves on I still love RPGs but it is tough to get time to prepare for that shit man. So I'm checking out the quick-play shiyat too. I already looked at Tri-Stat but I don't think it's for me.
Anyway Savage Worlds contrasts well with Exalted. SW is pretty quick and is 144 pages. Exalted is a dense, complex kung-fu asskicking game with like thousands of pages of material avaiable, much of which I am sad to say I own.
I'm starting to feel like I'm a candidate for an RPG PhD or something.
On to more interesting things. I saw Better Luck Tomorrow which reminded me of Johnny's days as a young gangsta. Actually it reminded me more of those idiots that tried to rob the computer lab at Costa. You guys know who I'm talking about. Rhymed with "Talk-a-nishi" and "Learner." It was about bored straight-A kids who turn to crime. The kids are basically all assholes, some more sympathetic, but still assholes. It was a pretty good movie. I also saw "Kill Bill" and I thought it was awesome. Some parts were a little slow but all in all it felt like a Tarantino flick to me. I actually thought the splitting it in half worked, too.
I got Babylon 5 from Netflix and so far it fucking sucks! So, that's that.
By our best guesstimate, this weekend marks the 3rd year anniversary of my alternate gaming group containing Denis, Laurie, Peter, and young Fared. We've probably played an average of once every 4 or 5 weeks, but that is still pretty damn amazing.
Gee, I guess I'm up to nothing but books, games, and movies. Next time I will blog about my many experiences with folk music and Las Vegas prostitute ranches.

Chopper, suck bread!
Ryan, I feel for you man. The Kings have quite a futility record themselves, although not quite as long. They really know how to let you down.
Jon, I broke down and bought Quicksilver. I found a used copy already for $18 and it is in good shape. I have not gone too far into, maybe 30 pages or so but it seems pretty cool so far.
ElrocK, sounds cool. It is amazing how much nice furniture can make a difference in your desire to be in a room. Hope the repairs on your car aren't jacked like mine was. How did your accident happen? Enlighten.. Unless you are still despondent about the subject. Hockey rules.
Rude: Rule about the car. I guess you gave up on the $2000 budget. Hey if you say, "Autobots transform", does your car turn into a 2 story tall robot and shoot lasers at those that displease you?
Sooooooooo..... Tired. Ahhhh, head cold. Yeah fun. Rule. Work, Sooooo busy. Ahhhh Bed! (Eric imagine the Bicycle kick in bed) That is what I am going to do in just a minute. Speaking of which, try watching Scarface when you are almost deleriously tired on antihistimines. Makes a wierd movie more bizarre. K I have had enough. I am off to bed.

What I Did On My Vacation From The Blog
Wow! What a great trip I had from the Blog! The places the people and things I have seen have just been so exciting! Let me tell you all about my vacation:
- Worked a lot.
- Got a new livingroom setup - couch, two chairs, ottoman (Turk), end tables, rug, and coffee table. It looks great, it all matches and it is now a pleasure to sit in our living room rather than a drag. It's pretty cool.
- My car is still in the shop, probably for another week or more. My dad has been kind enought to let me drive the car he doesn't want or need to at a particular time, so I have either been styling in the 500SL, or in the flamed-out PT Cruiser. Neither one really works well for my particular job, but I am greatful that I can still get to work.
- Sweet car Rudy! Did you get the illuminated drink holder? And which model did you get? The rounded one or the squared edges?
- Last night I finished EVEN MORE Crossfire miniatures, so now both the Krauts and the Yanks have tanks, anti-tank guns, bazookas/panzerfausts, and more HMG's!!!!!
- NHL hockey finally started and I could not be happier. I know Aaron and Rudy feel the same way.
- Ryan is probably crapping his pants right now about the Cubs series going to game 7 and is having retribution fantasies about "The Fan" that messed up Alou's foul ball catch....
- Ryan is also in the process of moving into a new place in Redondo Beach with Heather. No, its not what it sounds like.
Wow! What a great vacation I had! C-Ya!
