Cafepress Books in Beta
I just got an email about the Cafepress books beta version, and they are offering a free book to the first 100 responses, obvisously I responded and hopefully we will be in that first 100 so we can get a free book! Now the next step would be to figure out what to put in this book, decide the layout, the cover, etc. by 5pm June 5th!!!!! Get thinking! Quick!!!! My ideas: A compilation of Jon's unpublished stories (no matter the level of completion), some of Rudy's poetry/lyrics from his buddies, a compilation of the Blog (TheActionTeam vol. I), some pick-up lines from Johnny, Enron's guide to cable management, etc. Even a combination of all of the above! I need to hear back from the Cafepress people, but think quick! Here is the email:
Beta test our book service and get free stuff!!!
It's time to celebrate! Cafepress.com is closer than ever to
offering you on-demand books with no upfront costs.
In order to create the best possible product, we are looking for
feedback from talented creators like you. The first 100 creators
to respond to this email will receive a free beta version professionally
printed book. Your book will be saddlestitched or bound with
wire-o depending on your selection. What do you need to do you
ask? ... It's simple all we need from you is...
1. Your book in an electronic format
2. Page size set to one of the following
4.18 x 6.88
5 x 8
7.5 x 9.25
8.5 x 11
6.625 x 10.25
All measurements are in inches and are listed as width x height
To make your book readable we strongly recommend margins of at least
1/2 inch on all four sides of your document, feel free to format your
book as you like aside from this requirement.
If you book is under 52 pages it will be saddle stitched (saddle
stitched binding is like a comic book). If your book is over 52
pages it will be bound with wire-o (wire-o binding is like journal). The maximum page count for a wire-o book is 600 pages.
3. Two images for the cover of your book. One image will be the front
cover and one will be the back cover. The images need to be the same
size as your book with an added 1/4" bleed on all four sides, jpg's
are preferred.
4. A phone number that we can contact you at during the day.
5. A willingness to participate in a short survey regarding our new
on-demand book service at the conclusion of this beta test.

Only the first 100 creators to respond will be selected, so act fast
if you want to be part of the chosen few!
In order to participate you must be able to submit your book no later
than 5pm on Thursday June 5th, 2003.
