Al Franken vs Bill O'Reilly
It's gonna be on C-SPan2 in a few minutes (it was on early today) and they're repeating it:
http://www.c-span.org/watch/cspan2_rm.asp?Cat=TV&Code=CS2
He's such an idiot (O'Reilly) but I guess Al Franken (Stuart Smalley!) really slams it to him- should be good- go go go !
UPDATE: omg, Al Franken is SO fuckin awesome- he just went off on Bill OReilly while he was sitting right next to him (in a funny way) and OReilly started freakin out yelling SHUT UP YOU IDIOT- omg, so funny.
ELROCKISMAD: No disrespect to your dead minatures, honestly. You said you didn't want anyone to comment on it, then everyone did, so I thought I'd throw in my 1/2 cent- sorry my blog post offended you.

hEY HEY KIDS!
Castle wolfenstein: enemy territory, didn't impress me too much. It's the same as any other shooter game. But for Free, it was great and will pass a few good hours. I have broken my gaming chastity, just couldn't resist free. I think the game is much too chaotic. It's hard to see the fine details, or your targets because the natural background contrast and coloring is quite dark. No matter how much you adjust it, it seems like you can't see much. So anyhow, there's relatively no teamwork and so finding medic and ammo seems to be the biggest quirk of the game. I don't like the "magically" appearing healing and bullets much either, but in a free for all, i think that works best. Finally there's some problems with the balance of the weapons but thats with all games.

Wise words from a friend of The Action Team
I really got nothin' else to blog today, so I thought I'd pass on this missive from Mr. "Leatherboy" Ziskin:
Scientific Progress
I have just made an exciting discovery. If you eat enough of that Incredible Hulk green chocolate syrup, it will turn your shit green. Yet another example of technological progress brought to us by Hershey's.

That sucks ASS!
There is not many incidents more aggrivating than the theft of something valuable to you. The loss of all those miniatures is just huge. I mean the tools, well whatever. That is just money, but the painted miniatures are so irreplaceable. In situations like that you just feel so violated. You know what ever shit that stole those are just going to look at them and say, what the hell is this shit? Either they will get tossed, what a travesty, or his/her 5 year old kid will get them, what a travesty. But we must march onward like good soldiers.
On a sunny side of things... Aimey and I were at a bar last night with a DJ spining 80s music and projecting 80s videos/movies. Pretty cool, but the best part is that we ran into our old neighbors that were on the floor below us at the previous apartment. Appearently, they had complained to Z (Yes the infamous supar Bizatch roommate we had) about her noise levels @ 3 and 4 am in the morning. She was slamming doors/cabinets, dropping things on the floor, stomping around. So as is typical Z fashion, instead of being curteous and keeping things quiet (She is a huge night owl until 4-7am.. Worse than Eric ever was), she decided on being much louder. So they appproached her again and she was totally unreasonable, so they contacted the landlord. The landlord then sent a representative to talk with her and she was a complete cunt with the rep. SHe chased the poor guy away. To make a long story short, the landlord evicted her. I am almost 100% sure that this is the second place in a row she has been booted from. The more and more I talked with others about the story she gave about the previous apartment she was at, the more I come to believe she was booted there too. I bet she still believes that she is justified in all her actions, as mean and anti-social as they are. Unbelieveable how self righteous she is. I can not remember a person that I have ever hated more than her. Shit I can not remember very many people I hate. She made the top of a very short list.
Elrock, As I always tell Aimey, what goes around comes around and those who treat others like crap will get theirs.
Night v.2. Aimey and I saw a hooker get picked up by a john. Kinda crazy. The minute I saw her walking on the street I knew what she was. It was in the low 50s and she had a bra sized top, a white feather boa, the shortest spandex Dazie-Dukes you could wear without them being a bikini bottom, and legs to the sky with just comical height stilletos. As she walked across the street a car stopped half a block down and waited for her. They exchanged words very quickly and she jumped in the car. She was really the only very good looking hooker I have ever seen.
Cheers to all.

hrrrm.... that's some rotten luck, sorry to hear that. no joke
Bigsky Aronovich: the games day at the library is coming up soon. you briefly mentioned that at the convention. I believe the next one is next month on the 8th, Sunday. I'm totally down for that if you are. Meanwhile, let me know if your up to anything this weekend. The only scheduled plans I have is to watch bruce almyty and matrix. That's solid.
Work News: Hey all, I've got another chance at the PM job... I think this time its about 30% chance, but there is still about 70% uncertainty. I'll know within 2 1/2 weeks but it still doesn't look good. Plus there's more risk riding on it. I don't think I'll continue to work here if I don't get the job. It's just a matter of where I'm going here... So there is definitely more at stake.

My BB Career Comes to an End
So in the amount of time it takes me to walk from the front of the house to the sideyard, grab a trashcan, move it to the trashcan area of the house, throw some old wind shield wiper blades away, and walk back to the front of the house, my car is "broken" into. Meaning, someone was watching me change my blades, and saw me walk to the back of the house, then they made their attack of opportunity. Two things stolen: my tool bag from work, estimated value: $400, the other thing stolen, my orange miniatures box, if you know the one, you know the hundreds of hours spent collecting, painting and playing with the 7 blood bowl teams, two warmaster armies, 10 teminator marines, and 4 squads of WWII miniatures that went into that thing. Gone. Just like that. I discovered this as I am nearing Norwalk to do some work out here. The only time this could have happened when the alarm was not on in the truck was that small window whenI walked to the back of the house. I didn't check on everything in the car when I got back to the front of the house, I just hit the alarm on the car, and went inside, cause who knew?
So, I don't know if I have it in me to collect all that shit again, or paint it for that matter. So, there you have it.
Please, no jokes just yet, no words of wisdom for next time, no "maybe you should have locked your car before walking to the back of your house", I'm really not in the mood right now.

Diceland!
There's not one but TWO new Diceland sets out! Yee-ha! They're not expansions for the first set but rather they have a "spaceship" theme. They are still compatible with the first set, but the idea of anime people fighting spaceships seems a little incongruous. Anyway, I'll probably get one sometime soon. Aaron, next time you come into town set aside a few hours to fold up my dice.
No work today... ehhhhhh.

You are the Greastest
You are the coolest, luckiest, son of a bitch EVAR that you have aBB league so close to your house and you actually PLAYED in it!!!! I'm off to bed, but remember this: if the orcs are trying to pound you into the gravel, they can only block you once if you are not in contact with them (like I did to you), just stay away from the fights you look like you will lose, and hang around for the fights you are pretty sure you will win (barring the dreaded double skulls roll!).
I am SUPAR envious, good job at joining the league!

So that concludes my first BB league outing
Interesting to say the least. Just played some random pick-up game. I thought I would have gotten my ass handed to me, but it turns out I did alright. The guy I played against, his name was Jeff, only scored 1 touchdown and that was on the last turn of the second half where a few unseeming fumbles cost me the game. Actually I had several chances to score in the first and second half but just could not capitalize when I needed it.
The whole game took about 2 hours, which is surprising quick for me. Even had we been proficient there are 16 total turns, 2 players, 32 turns and each turn takes 3 minutes at least. So an average of 4 minutes a turn isn't bad at all.
Eric, btw, Jeff had an orc team similar to mine, and I think his strategy with that was to smash all my guys into the gravel. He outgunned me 8 blocks avg/per turn, vs my 1 block a turn. He wasn't rolling that great, but had he been rolling well, I think my whole squad would have been watching the game from the sidelines.
The people you say? Ahh.... well.... they must have thought I was pretty weird too. So were even on that count. Other than that the league seems pretty cool.

Wunderbar!
That's actually the axis "cheer" now, heh. Yeah, just played it for a bit- its pretty cool. Graphics look pretty nice for a Quake3 eng game, and it actually runs smoother and clearer than old Rtcw, while sportin better graphics. Its hard cuz its like 6 new maps- ugh. and you play it in campaigns of 3 maps,. so its a lot to take in, but I'll get it. overall, pretty g-d'n good for a free game! I'm playing as [AT]SteveImSteve, so look out for me!
Oh yeah Elrock- had to at LEAST give you props on my site- I stole your whole design pretty much! but its cool, cuz I'm totally learnin lots of new tricks n stuff- danke! Hope the mug turns out cool- hows those grey AT shirts?
Dungeoneer was helluv fun. But, I'm achin' to try out some more Battlecry - grr!
I wish I was a Hipublican! OMG, what complete losars.

To Continue...
- I am currently in the laborious process of downloading Vulfenshtein @ 42.5KB/Sec.... ugh....
- Thanks for the props on the CafeBeats site! I got a mug on order!
- Back to De Profundis:
- The guy suggests that we each play this game by ourselves and should try and experience things our characters might write about by doing two things: 1) Look at the world in a different light, look for the sinsiter, try to spin daily life stuff as being a bit more-horrific, twisted, etc. Try and play out a "psychodrama" in certain instances in our lives (ie play out the what-if's and let your imagination run wild a bit), and then try and use those feelings, experiences to write about. 2) Rather than trying to write about something your character has done, or will do, actually do it first to see and feel and experience what it REALLY feels like. Going to write about walking down an alley and feeling like there is someone one or two steps behind you, just out of sight? Really go out and walk the streets at night and imagine there is someone there, then remember that feeling, the smells, the sensations when you write the LETTARS TO YUOR FIRENDS!!!
- I don't know, there really are no logistics perse with this crap that I can describe, any particular questions you need answered and I can do my best.
- 98% of wolfet.exe done, and I'll be asleep before it reaches 100%... vundebar!
