When Dub signed the energy bill into law, it included a huge mandated increase in the production of ethanol.. from 4.5 billion-ish up to around 8 billion-ish (numbers off the top of my head).. which sparked an equally as huge bump in the values of ethanol manufacturers' stock prices from in the teens to high fourties (and now hovering around the high thirties and low forties, I believe). While ethanol is largely bullshit (FUCKERS!) ... it has the P.R. going for it and the lobbyist groups pumping hard cash into the pockets of our politicians.
