Unemployment

That fuckin sucks Rude. Give the unemployment office a call, pronto. Make sure you do it soon because it takes about a week for benefits to kick in. The people you want to talk to are the Economic Development Department, and as long as you were laid-off (as opposed to terminated for shooting your boss or something), you're eligible. The good news is that since you didn't make much money, you probably won't be making much less on unemployment!

Anyway the number is (800) 300-5616. They'll want to know the address of your former employer and they'll ask you a few other questions, but nothing too big. You get benefits every other week along with a job search form to fill out (it's just a few checkboxes, nothing intrusive).

But I wouldn't be too bummed out. Yeah losing a job sux0rs, but you haven't seemed happy at that job for the last, oh, three years or so. This should be an opportunity for you to find something better.

Unemployment is OK, for a little while. I liked it for about two months, then started going crazy. You definitely get a chance to learn more about Tecate.
