Review: Gangs of New Yawk
Been watching Gangs of New York- eh, so far its alright- kinda cheesy, but still pretty interesting- I'm only half-way thru, but I think its safe to say its not one of Scorcese's best.
Finished it: was just "ok." Definately an interesting time: new york slums during the civil war and the draft riot. They touch on how there were competing fire depts. - so, when the different fire companys get to a fire they fight each other- cool. This movie just wasn't that great. I didn't have any problem with the acting, its just the story itself was pretty blah- eh. And then at the end there's a sweet 9/11 tribute- touching. Spike Lee's 25th Hour movie is full of images and refrences to 9/11, but it just doesn't feel as tacked on as in this flick. Whatever.

Final Grade: C
Jay Leno Grade: F for Jay Leno is the FUCKING worst.

Next movie I've "collected" is Chicago- hmmmm.
