Just kidding! I agree with Eric- I'll leave politics out of it I guess - I was under the wrong impression that we were all on similar pages. All good! :) Drop Bush Not Bombs! :p
Anyways, the march was cool. The only other big protest/march I've been to was when the DNC was held here in LA, and that was a lot more intense- the cops were pretty scary at that event- Here, I had no fear as long as I kept my eye on Rob Reiner and Martin Sheen- Ran into some friends down there which was cool - got a nice little 3 mile hike out of it also! Overall, a very cool day! Some funny signs I saw people with:
"Don't Bomb it if you Can't Spell It"
"Asses of Evil" (with pics of bush, rumsfeld, etc)
"Who Would Jesus Bomb?"
And one of my faves was a picture of Bush morphed to look like Alfred E. Newman wearing a button that said "Worry." Heh- I think it was a magazine cover or something.
Man, did you guys see England!?!?! Like a million friggin' people - WOW.
There was a pretty cool SNL skit a couple of weeks ago- its an anti-war rally, and this 'Nam vet is on the stage trying to speak:
Nam Vet: We're here to say no to this immoral war...
Guy in Crowd: Gay Rights!
Vet: Uh, ok, but we're here in solidarity to
ANother Person: Save the whales!
Vet: No, we're here talking about...
Another Person: Feed the Children!!
Vet: WHa..
Person: Feed the children to the whales!
Vet: We gotta stand together here people...
Guy: Legalize porn!
Vet: But, porn IS legal...
Guy: Not the porn I like!
