Depresso-Ville
So my dad called and told me that the new owners of our old house just removed the kick ass eucalyptus tree from the backyard. We have estimated that the tree was planted in 1960, and since it's a eucalyptus tree it has a strange acid like substance that kills vegetation around it that is not also eucalyptus, it will be chipped and either a) sent to the dump and wasted, or b) laid out on the green belt in Manhattan for way too rich people to run on. Either way, a depressing end to a great tree that my old cat Sasha used to climb, that Barney, Leia and Amber used to sharpen their claws on, that used to hold my great treehouse, that provided a hiding place within the bark for my hidden stash of lighters and firecrackers, that provided long strips of bark for building tree-villages for Star Wars or GI Joe figures, that also provided huge bark swords for JP and I to attack each other with, that also doubled as a great apartment complex for countless birds and their nests through the years. And best of all, by blocking out all the sun in the backyard, it made sure nothing else would grow anywhere near it, not to mention the acorn caltrops it used to drop all over the yard the the neighbors yards.
I am sad.

Sex-Men: Unanaled
Yeah, saw it tonight. A friend paid my way, keeping that in mind, can't say that I was supar-dissapointed. It was alright. Alan Cummings (sp?) as Nightcrawler ruled! The LA Weekly had a good review about it saying that it totally lacks SOUL. I agree. It was still pretty fun, but I'm forgetting it already. Dudes: Hows MAtrix gonna be? Oh man, I HOPE its good. I just rewatched no. 1 , and the thing I think I liked most about it is that as you watch the movie, youre constantly "discovering" new shit. Now, since we already know about the Matrix and all that shit, hows this new movie gonna be as good. Ah whatever. I don't care THAT much.
Saw this really good preview for this FUCKED up looking zombie movie called "28 Days Later" (i think.) It says its from the guy who did Trainspotting and all that shit, and it looks REALLY pretty fucking scary. Also saw that League preview- dumb. *sigh*

Sadly...
This will be most unpopular with Johnny. In unfortunate news I can not attend Koooblacon.
ELdicK: I dont care about your stoopid Blood Hole game. Jerk, you trying to put us in hell? I still do not know how I feel about the Shitey Dick Dugglers. I mean they have knocked out two of the most reviled Kings post-season rivals AND they are the cinderella underdogs. Yet it is still the mighty Fucks... Such a dichotomy.
Jon: You better have that checked out. It could be ulcers, collitus(sp?), or 'roids. D'oh. Then again it could be Fruit Punch Kool Aid. Did you taste it?.
Johnny: American express is kinda nice except... Well there is that part where you have to pay it back every month. You have to be careful with those cards. Hope you have fun @ Koooblacon.
In other news, I have registered for one Kublacon and took Memorial day(26th) off from work. Hope fully this is the one Elrock registered for. Too bad for JawhhhhhKnee Thyme. I think he registered for the wrong con. At least Elrich n' I can have fun. Actually I have been very much looking forward to the KhunVhenShun Thai uM. Is sir Denish going to make it? When are you coming up? You bringing yo wU-mon? I noticed jOn pussed out. Oh, my NY pussy hertz. No, seriously he will be there with us in spirit. Just joshing you Jon. I hope you do enjoy your time in NY and maybe you will find a place to live.

Blood Bowel
No, this isn't a reference to you and your Bloody Bowels Enoto, it was just a simple typo is all....
I found TEH GREASTEST Blood Bowl League Manager spreadsheet out there!! EVAR!!!! The guy who made it is nuts, it's the total pakage all rolled into one sheet: it has rosters, team rankings, player rankings, a schedule maker, and most of it is automated so it would be SO easy to run a league... for me.... to play in.... by myself.... and..... against.... my....

American Express Blue Card
No annual fee, up to 5% cash back. I think it's a good card. I'm getting one to see how they can afford to give me 5% cash back on all my purchases. If you guys want to check it out go to American express.com.
Aaron is fo shure goun to the kon. I'm basically just going to take that as a given and commanding it as a higher ranking officer. No if ands/ors Buts. KOOOBLACON is going to be SOOOO RAD! We have miniatures WWII, Battle cry miniatures, War Cry card game, Acquire.... yay
Jon, as for as rectal bleeding, I would go check out the free medical diagnosis websites like WEBMD.com... I had this before and it worried me for a bit because I had PMS from my ass for about 2 weeks. I didn't get pregnant though. I think it's stress and then went away. However, rectum bleeding can be indicators of other diseases and such. You should quit shoving those gerbals up in there Richard.. er... jon or quit playing the anal faery game with dildo collection.
Raise/Promo: It was kinda downplayed, I didn't get the promo that I was looking for. I will however, still be getting the raise that is only a fraction of inflation. Yay corporate america. I have a good feeling though, somewhere down the line, I'll get something.
Saw Anger Management this weekend. Nice movie, Adam sandler grew up a little, some very very adult humor (not recommended for kiddos) and I thought Jack nicholson was brilliant. Critics are complaining about bad directing, acting yadayada yada yada... Look.... it's not an Oscar winning movie. Nothing in there was filmed brilliantly. Nothing made sense. Concepts were used before, yada yada yada yada. But it was funny, take it with a grain of salt.

I Think You Are Exciting, or You Excite Me
- One or the other, you choose....
- Rdub, true, the Ducks game was great. You should have come on over and enjoyed it with some leftover Pacifico from the Sunday night game-o-feast-o-bloody-ass-o-rama! Oh well, there is always next series. And surfing with Byars, perhaps this weekend? I don't have ANY plans of right now, so we should charge saturday AND sunday morning! I'll try and remember to call Byars. Hopefully we don't beef it on any waves. To the max!
- Jael, how did the raise/promotion go? We never heard the verdict on that one, which probably means by asking I am rubbing salt into your open wound of promotion rejection, but at least I am showing interest in your life, right? Also, are you still in for Kublacon? Yes? Terrific!!!!
- CafeBrudeats, you can edit the CSS sheet by downloading it and messing with the Hex Colors to better match your site's scheme. Yeah, there are some erroneus entries on the sheet, thats the fun! You get to find the ones that apply and the ones that don't! Also, as far as the Javascript calling goes, it was either there for something yet to be added or left over from something that was removed. If you haven't noticed I like to cut and past headers and whatnot. It helps speed the process ups and also helps me forget how to do fundamental HTML stuff, which is great when you are under the gun trying to throw a quick site example up while the boss is watching.... Also, nice picture!
- Enron, at work we are looking to automate some of my busy work everyday so that I can be better used in other arenas. So we need a database that can extract some information from log files that will tell us if certain kiosks are a) on, b) generating revenue, and c) need some tender loving technical assistance. That is why I am axing you aboot database schtuffen. Also, are you still in for Kublacon? Please say yes....
- Enoto: I played another Battlecry:Battle game with myself last night, the first one in the book that has the fences (not feces). 6 - 5, SO many bodies on either side of the fence. Try it out. Use pennies and dimes as counters. DO IT!!!!!

Blood and Gangrene
Ah yes, yesterday was the day of Enoto Almost, But Not Quite, Winning Games:
1. BARELY lost the Jackson Campaign. (Eric: how dare you forget the name of "Stonewall" Jackson! Sir, you shall regret your impudence, and will be fired upon by many volleys from our Leech Cannon!)
2. ALMOST didn't totally get my ass kicked at WarCry.
3. ALMOST won Cribbage. Cribbage is some exciting shit! Me and Eric were tied at 89 points, playing to 90, and it came to his dad's turn, and his dad passed, and then Eric needed an Ace to win, and he had one! I love Cribbage! I remember playing it against my dad's friend C.B. (aka Mr. Burdick) in Mexico when I was 9 and thinking it was teh sh1t, and then never playing it again. IT WAS JUST AS GREAT AS I REMEMBERED!!!
My only out-and-out victory came when I stole some chicken from Eric's dad.
The not-so-great part of the day came when I abruptly woke up at 3:30 AM with that kind of weird paranoia you get when you wake up and can't fall asleep again, for reasons you don't fully understand. I couldn't sleep again until 5:00. The not-so-great part of today came after taking a dump when I wiped and there was beautiful red blood all over the tissue. That's not a good sign, is it? There wasn't any blood in the poop because then the poop would be black instead of brown, and it looked normal. So I concluded that something around my brown eye is fissured. Does that sound right? I haven't stuck anything in my ass lately. Has anybody ever had a bloody butt before?
Oh, and I would also hasten to add that entering the words "bleeding rectum" into Google will produce numerous results, but few of them will be medical-based.

All My Dreams, Realized!
So Enoto and I finally had it out with our own civil war, I, fighting to force the South to return to my wing and rejoin the Union, Enoto, fighting to keep his way of life free from unwanted economic sanctions. We fought out the GenCon Campaign Pamphlet: The (insert forgotten generals name here) Campaign. One much needed and enjoyable addition to the game was our use of casualty counters. I would HIGHLY suggest Enron and Jael (and even Motorbykes Womans and her roommate's games) use these counters, we just used black and red glass counter, a la Magic the Gathering Tapping counters. When the battles were over, it was quite imressive to look at the mounts of bodies all over the place.
Anyhoo, there were three battles. Enoto trounced me during the first with his unrelenting push of assault cards up the middle, while I could onle whimper and attempt mild responses with skirmishes from the flanks; final score 5 - 1, Confederates (there were special victory guidelines). The second battle proved more pitched and left the battlefield just absolutely littered with casualty counters, I BARELY eeked out a victory with a failed finishing move of Enoto's that left him open and required me to have the perfect card to reply, which I did; final score 6 - 5 Union. The final battle had the Union down by a cumulative score of -3 and required me to win the battle with a 6-2 victory to win, and a 6 - 3 to pull even and call the day a draw. As it ends up, Enoto FINALLY had a few bad rolls and some bad card draws that allowed my adequate cards and rolls to pull out the 6 - 3 victory, making the day of massive casualties a practice in futility because no one ended up winning, but does anyone really win when it comes to war?
Also, Oon played War-Cry with me, the Warhammer Fantasy Battle CCG, and had fun! It was a fun game! Also, some Cribbage, some Pacifico, and a huge meal cooked by Leslie had something to do with the evening... all in all, a great day.

I cater to the -100 %
Thanks for the explanation- thats funny, cuz I was all "screw 600, I'll make mine even tighter by making all my things 500 pixels across!" Oops. Back to the drawing board.
ADDED: Ok, go check out my site HERE. I only put shit in the 1st 2 menu choices, but see if I did it right (think I did.) thanks.
GLAD YOU LIKED X2 JON. Haven't seen it yet- kinda wanna see it but I'll prolly just wait till MAtrix Too for my next theater partay.

600 pixels, or there abouts is sort of a standard. The deal is that 600 is the size that is the lowest common denominator. AT one time the largest number of users had 640x480 set as there monitor default and they either didnt know how to change it or wanted it that way. Now a days I think only 7% or so of users are still using 640. The largest percentage is 53% with 800x600. The question is do you want to excluded or at least alienate the 7% and design a better page for users with 800+ width. Those stats are a couple years old. People have better hardware now and are more savvy with comps. Personally I am begining to feel that catering to the 7% is getting a bit old and they need to be pushed along. So to make a long story short, go with your gut. I still stick with ~600, but I think I am going to can the idea soon given the limited numbers of 640 users. Also consider the market, overseas typically has computers a generation older or more, except western europe which is only half a gen behind. The reason for 600 and not 640 is to make up for any side toolbars, scrollbars, and other crap that may chew a small percentage of your horizontal width up.
The reason eLrockinator is able to change only the middle portion of the page is that he uses IFRAME. IFRAME SRC="merchandise_list.html" HEIGHT="325" WIDTH="415" FRAMEBORDER="0" is a tag he uses in the middle of a TABLE TD Tag... SO it is like traditional frames but a little more confined and less HTML. Check his source out for the two frames. They are nearly identical for the weblog portion and the merch portion. Only real difference between the two is the SRC call. One uses merchandise_list.html and the other uses blog.html. Then he has two html pages made up for the center portion of each page or the IFRAME portion.
L Jon Peterwoodington III the pillow case comment was quite funny and unexpected. Three cheers.
Bortz
PS the numbers I gave above are nearly 2 years old. The real stats I think are closer to 3% are 640x480 now. I can not seem to find that stats anymore.

Aron- thanks, almost!
J/k- thanks for the css tip. So, I put that in, and now I get that orange color font and a few other things, but heres where I'm hitting a bump in the road: When you click on the Merch link, for example, instead of it opening in the window like the Actionteam site, mine opens it in a new page. I want to keep that main window always loaded, and i just wanna change whats in the middle screen. Hmm...
ALSO: i notice a lot of things are 600 pixels wide- is that a standard width, or was that just Elrawx's decision?

Random stuff
I kinda had yesterday to myself, so I went and saw X2. It was pretty cool! Basically, if you thought the first one was good, this one's a little better than that. The first scene (with Nightcrawler) is -awesome-. The movie flags a little at the end (it's 2 hours 15 minutes, which is like 45 minutes longer than the last one).
Was Deathstrike an asian lady in the comix? Is she even a real character? I didn't read as much X-Men as I should've.
There was a trailer for the next Matrix which looks really cool, and one for the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen which looks ghey. Allan Quatermain is the leader? Mina Harker is a half-vampire? Gimme a break.
Interestingly, the audience at the theater (Manhattan Beach theater at the mall) was like 80% black. I remember going there as a kid and there was hardly anybody who wasn't white there. Sign of the times I guess. It was cool but I regretted wearing my white pillowcase hat.
Modern moviegoer etiquette continues to impress me. I think people are getting better about cell phones, but bringing 2-year-olds into movies for older folk is not so smart. One particulably great lady had a baby who was talking/crying through the whooooole movie, and with about 30 minutes left to go, after several choruses of "shhh"s, she stood up and took the baby outside. As she did, she said to the kid, "Shut up. Shiiiit." Parent of the Year!
So, hopefully I am to play BattleCry vs. General Hessel today. I'm pretty excited! I've played several practice rounds vs. myself (so far the Union is ahead of the game, despite brilliant tactical play on the parts of both armies). Even setting up is fun! Sometimes I just set up, and then put it away again. I'm just sad that I had to actually purchase the game to learn how to play it. Eric and Aaron would never teach me how, but maybe now that I know the rules they'll play with me.

Rudy... CSS an Javascript
The Action Team CSS that eric used is for borders on tables and font refinement for the different bits of text. I.e. orange text HREF's etc... The actionscript I can not pull up. It seems that Elricavich put a link to a non-existent file. Probably intended on making one and decided not to, ran out of time, or it was part of the old Action team 1.0 and he never got rid of the call. In Elrics other sites that I have seen him use Javascript mostly for image swapping, i.e. image rollovers and pop-ups.
Nothing like an Gyro from the net. Yummmmm Cucumber sauce and lamb....
I like Orange
