This article has made me concerned at how we have progressed. Am I wrong to quote from the movie, when grachus said

Rome is the mob. Conjure magic for them and they'll be distracted. Take away their freedom and still they'll roar...

So basically, the governement coos the public by spending 325 million in tax incentives with a lavish "Colliseum". The money which could be better appropriated, when state woes and bankruptcy and citizen hardships are around. wow... now thats egregious.
