My Campaign Ideas
Rough Draft

The campaign in Escalation is insane. You have to have: 1. exactly one player from each faction, 2. all four warcasters for your faction 3. at least 1000 points of miniatures 4. vast amounts of unusual terrain 5. tons of time. I honestly think the only people that could get through that monster is a group of dedicated miniatures-playing teenagers during summer break. Even then, tough to do.

However the basic framework isn't bad, so here's what I'm thinking. This is basically tailored to what I already have.

1. Each player has two warcasters and 500 pts of units.
2. Through the fights, track total victory points.
3. The campaign consists of six battles broken up as follows:
a. Battle 1 is a 300-point battle. The winner gets a small advantage through the rest of the campaign (like a bonus on the initial roll-off or something). The loser has to pick their warcaster first in the steps below.
b. Battle 2 and 3 are 350-point games of which one is pretty basic and one has a wrinkle thrown in (like a capture the flag scenario or one of the weirder scenarios from Escalation). A different warcaster is used for each scenario, and the loser of the placement battle has to tell the winner which warcaster he's using for each one. The reward for each battle is either a small advantage for the rest of the campaign or a pretty powerful one-shot advantage the next time that warcaster is used. (One example is that a 'jack costs half the next time you field it; there are also the elite unit and 'jack bonding rules from Apotheosis.)
c. Battle 4 and 5 are the same as above, except this time the player with the lower victory point total picks casters first.
d. Battle 6 is a 500-point battle royale with the loser player picking warcaster and deploying first.
e. The winner of Battle 6 punches the loser and all of his miniatures soundly into the applesauce.

4. Half the fun for me looks to be coming up with a story to hang all of this stuff on. I might even write six or seven pages of epic poetry to be recited before each battle. Enron you would love that, right!? In a pinch, use the following flavor text (permission is granted to photocopy the below flavor text. you may not sell, illegally distribute, or publish below flavor text without express written consent of the author, Ragnar Raganar Oetersbane):
You have met your opponent on the field of battle and now you have to fight. Please fight now.

By the way I JUST got the "twat" references. Don't know how I missed that before. Dr. Twat. Brilliant.
