Looks like through December I'll be working 6 10 hour shifts a week. Monday thru Saturday. SO, while I'll probably drag my tired-ass to the con friday night, I wont show up on Saturday until after 6pm. Ugh, that sucks. Well, go for the Dungeon time that fits you all the best, don't worry about me. Think I'm already taken some time off for Thanksgiving, so I doubt I'll be able to swing saturday for the con also. Will be there that night and all Sunday though.

"Stokin' the neighbors..." Wow.
bLogger Nogger

This morning Blogger had a tough time updating the blog file @ the action team. It may just be some wierd issue at Lunar pages. ANyway, I see that shit real good.

Good and Bad News

Good News Aaron! Full con! Awwwwwww YEAHH!!!!

Bad news, blog.html has disappeared from the Firefox version of the website, do you notice that too Enron?

It shows up in IE and it exists on the server, obviously, but after multiple re-FTP's and site publishes, it still won't show....

...maybe after this post it will fix it.
You make me laugh

Im going in and I am going in full con. Got my tickets last night. I arrive at LAX wednesday eve and return on sunday eve. SO glad I do not have to do that fuXzOr drive this time. Ugggg... I had no desire to make it without Jorn or Ja -El accompanyment either. Man flights are expensive right now.

Those Cafepress items still make me laugh bad. Damn Jon you are brilliant.

GO Kings GO
A Company of Knights

$19.99 will get you these, a beautiful set of pre-painted plastic mini's for Shadows Over Camelot. Looks pretty nice! Maybe that will be my convention purchase this year! Also, it includes Sir Bedivere from Game Trade magazine/Jon and Denis from Third Planet.

Good to know about no thursday and no friday, Jon. I almost bought True Dungeon tickets for friday! So, that being the case, who else is going to miss con time? I wanna get these tickets and not be stuck with them cause someone won't be there that day. Saturday morning okay?

Also

Our new slogan should be, "When you want action, count on the Action Team". Oh wait. The kick-ass real estate people from theactionteam.com already use that.... We should clue them in to some great marketing materials we have prepared for purchase on Cafepress. I think I heard that Deef is the top-seller in their region 3 years running!

Stokin' the Neighbors 2k5

Man, November 17th-20th is a crappy weekend for a convention. The ticket prices are just as high since that's the weekend everybody is flying home, and it's hard to justify taking time off since you'll be taking time off just a few days after the con ends. Not to mention I still don't have any such thing as vacation days so any time I take off, is money out of my pocket. Maybe it's time to reconsider my career, here.

Anyway I will still be there (although I will miss Thursday and possibly part of Friday), I just wanted to vent that the timing sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!argh
The Yankees lost. Ha ha.

What is this, 1993??? There is a Propaghandi AND Lagwagon record coming out. Sadly enough, I remember both bands' first records coming out... 12 years ago!!!

Fuck.
I would marry cash-call if they approved me, but they said "Nah, stupid!" Fuckin' Arnold is full of shit.

Yeah, luckily I'm lookin at 60 hour weeks through December (...yay...) so I should be able to recover quite a bit, but I'm just pretty scared about the meantime. FUCK MONEY, OH MY GOD. Nothing more stressfull (maybe AIDS and Babys *shrug*).

Bah. Thanks for the kind words though.
I too feel for you

Rude: I know where you are coming from. Several years of less than stable employment and moving up here in the first place have really taken their toll on me financially. Who knows how many years it will take to recover. The recovery is agonizingly slow. Besides Being unemployed is so F'ing depressing. Ugggg, No more for me pleeze... My worst moment has to be when Jon and I spent 30 minutes, 100 feet from a bridge toll booth trying to figure out how we were going to get across the bridge with no toll money and no funds in our ATMs. After 30 minutes of change (and soul) searching we found enough change in the car to make it across.

Ry, you need to fix your suit à la Joel style. Meaning: seal the crotch with an abrasive hard rubberized glue, lend it to your friend Aaron, let him surf the first time ever in a soup of kelp and rip-tides, give him a 6' 3" thin ass board, dont pay any attention to him while he struggles with sea-weeds up the ying yang, get busy with some waves 200 yards away while he paddles for ten minutes straight TOWARDS the beach before he realizes he is in a rip and that it is not just drag from sea kelp (cuz he is a num nut and should know better), talk with some beach babes while letting your suit chaff the shit out of his nuts because you did such a fine patch job that you might as well have used skateboard grip-tape for patch work instead of glue. Result: Enjoy as your friend nurses the sorest scrotum ever. Thankx Joel. Come to think of it, now I know why I never went back to surf with him.

Good to know about the new DM album. Ry will have Three cheers for sure. I had been wondering if it was going to be good. Ill have to check it out.

Elzar: Well I stil have the jelly jar, but the waldo/wyvern proxy is in LA hidin' out. Booo...

PS Lizzies Nipples... Brilliant. Jon find that Tape next time you are in LA. Gotta Podcast that.
Ugh

Sorry to hear about that man. Having gone through two major unemployment periods in my life (2000 when everybody at Mattel got laid off, and the first 8 months when I was in S.F.) I definitely know what it's like to go into debt. It is not that fun. Businesses like CashCall are teh wrost, borrow $5000 now and pay back $20000 later. There are smarter ways to go into debt. If worse comes to worse the Wamu/Citibank/etc. loans that you probably get ads for all the time are sometimes not as bad as keeping debt on your credit card.

Honestly one thing you might consider is investment. I recommend Privateer Press WARMACHINE high-quality pewter figurines. The care and craftsmanship that goes into these limited-edition items ensures that they will only increase in value, making them a fine purchase whether you want to keep them as security for your future, or pass them on to your children.
Fuck You Cash-Call! or News from the Land 'O Broke!

Hi. Fuck the world, yeah? I'm so incredibly broke. Bills ain't gettin' paid! Dunno what to do. Living like this feels just grand.

Anyways, that's my hot newz. Yeah Eric, I didn't even submit myself to iTunes, so don't know how I'd make a dj list. Would be hella fun though. I can bring some CDs to the con to sell to you guys for youre hard earned cash. $40 bucks cheap - they're imports (from my fucking apartment!)

Yeah, Ryan you made me laugh with that paint joke. Jon is scaring me with all this weird miniature's talk.

My Playlist of late:

Depeche Mode - Playing the Angel (really good! wish I could see 'em in concerto, but it's too pricey for me right now.)

Citizen Cope - Self titled and some other fuckin' album (Heard him on some WB show I think, liked it, like the albums even more. Borderline I-shouldn't-like-this stuff, but seems pretty good.)

And some other shit you guys would hate. (One involves Gavin from Bush and the other is his "wife"s solo cd.)

I like the Citadel paints better. They have better colors and make my Halflings and Earthlings stand out with more brilliancy.

And this is why you should post MORE! LOL!!!!

Shit, that was funny.

I think we both need new wetsuits, seeing as we have both torn different parts of our respective suits taking them off. And mine is infested with spiders because it has been hanging on the side of the garage on the way to the murder shack.

Now, if only you could make the Lizardman huddle sound on the blog, I would piss myself right here, right now!

BTW, call me after school tomorrow, we should Memoir it up. The plucky Russians want their revenge!
This is why I never post.

I neglected to call Eric to go surf this morning and chose to go by myself. After calling him from the beach to apologize and see if he wanted to possibly go later, I tried to get out of my wetsuit, which I tor halfway down the left arm. I looked at new wetsuits today and they cost about $300 for the one I want.

In other news, I watched a baseball game on TV today and it went 19 innings. It would probably be totally boring to everyone here, except me. I was totally rivited and watched every singel second of the 6 hour affair.

So. Many. Spiders.

Ugh. So many spiders all over the place here in Mirkwood. Not small, either. I don't suggest walking around outside ANYWHERE around my house at night, unless you like facefull of SPIDER!

Warmachine Progress Report: Sorscha is finished! Started on the Berserker tonight, and am detail work and bases away from finishing the Iron Fang Pikemen. All that remains for my 500pts is the Widowmakers, which are sitting there, mocking me in their white primed-ness.

Do it!
My Campaign Ideas
Rough Draft

The campaign in Escalation is insane. You have to have: 1. exactly one player from each faction, 2. all four warcasters for your faction 3. at least 1000 points of miniatures 4. vast amounts of unusual terrain 5. tons of time. I honestly think the only people that could get through that monster is a group of dedicated miniatures-playing teenagers during summer break. Even then, tough to do.

However the basic framework isn't bad, so here's what I'm thinking. This is basically tailored to what I already have.

1. Each player has two warcasters and 500 pts of units.
2. Through the fights, track total victory points.
3. The campaign consists of six battles broken up as follows:
a. Battle 1 is a 300-point battle. The winner gets a small advantage through the rest of the campaign (like a bonus on the initial roll-off or something). The loser has to pick their warcaster first in the steps below.
b. Battle 2 and 3 are 350-point games of which one is pretty basic and one has a wrinkle thrown in (like a capture the flag scenario or one of the weirder scenarios from Escalation). A different warcaster is used for each scenario, and the loser of the placement battle has to tell the winner which warcaster he's using for each one. The reward for each battle is either a small advantage for the rest of the campaign or a pretty powerful one-shot advantage the next time that warcaster is used. (One example is that a 'jack costs half the next time you field it; there are also the elite unit and 'jack bonding rules from Apotheosis.)
c. Battle 4 and 5 are the same as above, except this time the player with the lower victory point total picks casters first.
d. Battle 6 is a 500-point battle royale with the loser player picking warcaster and deploying first.
e. The winner of Battle 6 punches the loser and all of his miniatures soundly into the applesauce.

4. Half the fun for me looks to be coming up with a story to hang all of this stuff on. I might even write six or seven pages of epic poetry to be recited before each battle. Enron you would love that, right!? In a pinch, use the following flavor text (permission is granted to photocopy the below flavor text. you may not sell, illegally distribute, or publish below flavor text without express written consent of the author, Ragnar Raganar Oetersbane):
You have met your opponent on the field of battle and now you have to fight. Please fight now.

By the way I JUST got the "twat" references. Don't know how I missed that before. Dr. Twat. Brilliant.
