Grind is intriguing, but I don't have it. The 2nd edition rules and new cards and plastic warjack kits and shit all came out this month so that's soaked up my gaming dollars. Aeryk I think you should decide to drive up to SF, stop at a game store, buy three copies of Grind, drive two more miles, suddenly pull into a Target and buy some on sale Hannukkah paper, tape and a scissor, wrap the spare copies, drive to my place, so drunk you smash into a telephone pole two miles down the road, run the rest of the way to my place, while on fire, climb the fire escape, still on fire, smash through the balcony window and present me and Johnny with our gifts. That my friend would be a belated secular Hannukkah present worthy of the Action Team.

But yeah, come up if you're feeling it! Some Combat Commander could be in the cards, some new Space Hulk, maybe a little Vegas Showdown, I dunno. Maybe your proximity would inspire me to finish painting my amazons! Just a wash and highlights and they're pretty much done.

Hey Noric, I think Jon and I are talking about maybe getting together for a bit on saturday for some Gaymen action also, WM most likely. Mike is doing some of his professor stuff. So anyway, if you show, just for enticement, I'll read up on Jon's copy of combat commander (don't know if youre still into THAT game now of your newfound passion for Grind). =)

yay, i was reading up on Paul Volcker and he seems a much better qualified candidate. I like his direction vs. how Tim G is leading us to financial bankruptcy. It may be motivated partly by a political move, but I think even the staunchest politicians are realizing that without regulations we are doomed. Just surprised how late we are reacting to this crisis.

| Suck it Trebek

D'oh. I can not partake of festivities this Saturday. I will be at a photo shoot in the AM until probably mid-afternoon and in the evening, washing King Edward's testicles. I may be able to sneak in for a short bit between events, depending on how things transpire in the afternoon.

I have not looked at Grind yet. I will try and peep it this afternoon.

| This Ain't Eric Nies' The Grind!

I think possibly one AT member will be aware of the Eric Nies reference, but I digress.

PLEASE tell me someone in SF owns a copy of Privateer Press' 'Grind' game! I remember Denis posting a note about it some months back, and I looked at it with some interest and excitement, but this morning I have been watching the intro videos and flash tutorial and me wanna play!

FYI, if the deluge lightens up I plan on being in SF this Saturday for some gaymen. Get it? Gamin'/gaymen. See the joke? See, I changed gaming to ACTUALLY say 'Gay Men', which is hilarious because any reference at all to being gay is intrinsically funny.

| Copzzors

Ja-El, beware. Cameras plus cops equals a whole lot of no good. They don't usually take kindly to being filmed/photographed without consent. Legal or no, you might want to steer clear.

Just finished the last of my companies bonehead training. Ethics, Harassment, etc... Seriously, based on what the training conveyed to us, either people are really stupid and do not know what is appropriate or more likely they are playing dumb and claim they don't kno0w any better. Either way, almost 4 hours in the tank.

Traffic tickets suck, sorry dude. Hope you win your case. I always just pay but luckily I haven't been busted in years. My most recent ticket though was a red-light cam and THAT was some fucking bullshit, makes me so furious. Nothing to fight though because they give you the link to you "breaking the law." It was a red-light and I made a right turn. But it was late at night with no traffic, so rolled through it. Didn't know that was considered running a red-light. Oh i fucking hate Hawthorne and those traffic cameras.
hehe... Jet Lee was a cool name until that no talent ass-clown started doing movies and stuff with it. If anything he should change his name.

I'm just kidding man, nothing against twitter, everyone just tweet away, tweet the sweet last living breathhhhhh... huuuuh. I'm just a bitter old kook who can't adapt to new technologies.

Just got back from Traffic court to pay my ticket. Well, actually just bail cuz i'm gonna fight it. On my way back home I counted no less than 5 police cars on the freeway, theyre out in full force on a 15 mile drive. I saw one cop car less than 1 and 1/2 cars distance away behind the car in front doing 60. UH ISNT THAT TAILGATING? and I actually got a ticket for tailgating at 20 mph, coming to a stop because i was too close apparently. should have fought that ticket but was just too damn lazy back then.

I'm going to bring around my camera to take photos of police cars breaking the law.
Hi Jet Lee! Maybe don't name yourself after a celebrity first of all hahaha. But looking at the people who are following you, it's all bots - "make $300 bucks" "Hookup with cheaters" - shit like that. Not real people. There's all kinds of privacy filters to make it completely private or open to the world. But honestly, what are you worried someone's going to see on there? Like enron said, it's another experiment.
problem with twit is that ANY1 can follow ur twit. So that means more people are going to be reading THEAT nonsense and jarble which innately is moot, but also = less privacy, unless you pretty much stick to mundane nuetral topics like "i'm at the water cooler" or "my kids are great" instead of "dam, I'm jackin off to porn! So good, I can't stop!" because people might wonder what a loser you were, or just wondered how long you've been without a bath. And of course nothing really political either.

I used a name HarrylotterVgna and already I have 8 followers, and I haven't tweeted a single iota. Keep out!

*I guess blogs are searchable as well. eh...

The Wire is so friggen excellent! I remember when it was new and I caught part of a first season episode and I thought it was HORRIBLE! All the cussing and acting seemed totally janky to me and I couldn't understand how it was being critically acclaimed. But it's just one of those shows you can't watch out of order. It would make zero sense. So when I finally saw it once it was all out on dvd, wow! Glad you guys are liking it Jon!

Avatard Imax 3D was good on a technical tip! Pretty friggen incredible what 3D looks like now. Beautiful movie visually speaking. Seriously, I looked HARD for jaggies or blurry edges and it all looks pretty darn real. The story was shitty though. It is Space: Dances with Wolves/Last Samurai/Ferngully. Literally!

| it's nice

seeing the Twitter feeds because I know you guys are alive! Aeryk, if I signed up for Twitter, would it be simple for you to throw my feed on the page as well, or are you already stretching the limits of the Internet to its maximum potential?

Couple random things:
- Finally got around to seeing District 9. This movie was really very good, certainly much more visually impressive than I thought it was going to be. Apparently Peter Jackson had recruited this South African dude to direct the Halo movie, but the licensing fell through, so they ended up making this amazing looking movie for super cheap. Watching it you can tell that if they had ended up making a Halo movie it would have been really good.
- We are approaching the home stretch of The Wire, just finished the first disc of Season 4. You were right Rude, this show does keep getting better. I love how every season is about something totally different. Best show on television.
- Aeryk, do you know anything about this alternate WWII game Incursion?
- If you ever have the chance to pick up some Angelo Pietro Shoyu Salad Dressing, do so. It is delicious.
- I like you guys, you are my friends!

| I Just Love Road House So Much

I'd say it's the defining movie of my early-mid 30's.

I like FB, although some weeks I check it constantly and then I won't check it for months. It's weird how I'm "friends" with all these people from high school but I never talk with or interact with most of them in any way besides the initial "add friend" click.

Did you guys know David Fincher has a movie coming out about the origins of Facebook? Called The Social Network or something like that. Perhaps one day some visionary director will make the film of "Rona Jaffe's The Action Team."
