So, I'm alive. Mostly. Work continues to kick my ass with 12-14 hour days.

It's been so damned long since I posted (lurking/readying as I can grab 4-5 minutes here and there), I don't even really know where I left off. So, the short, short version:

1. Bought a bank-owned home: Fantastic deal, still more than we wanted to spend. Built 4 years ago but no one has ever lived in it because it was an investor spec-home property. Still unpacking boxes and beginning to see the bills rolling in.. ouch.

2. Bought a car: 2004 Mini Cooper w/ supercharger. Super fun to drive! It's like a go-kart on steroids. Plus, I'm getting 30 miles to the gallon driving around in the city.. can't complain one bit, really.

3. Got a puppy from the animal rescue. I affectionately call her a Chaweiner. Or, a stretch-Chiuaua. She's a great dog when she isn't pissing in the house. Also, apparently because I'm so big and scary, if I even scold her just the least bit, she pisses herself (and whatever she's standing on).. so that adds to the fun of trying to housebreak the dog. Thankfully everything in the house is tile except for the bedrooms and office.


Went and saw The Dark Knight last night.. maybe it was all the hype buildup but I thought it was just OK and not OMFG BEST MOVIE EVAR. In fact, I think the last one was better? Heath Ledger's death is pushing this movie to the accolades and box office success, I think. He does a great job in the movie and has some pretty awesome scenes... but there are some loooong spots where you kind of wish the scene would end.

I never got into the first Geometry Wars (I'm just bad at shooters in general) but I got the new one, Geometry Wars Evolved 2, and it's fucking incredible. There's 6 different game modes that are all pretty ingenious and interesting, and it's just SO addictive. You guys need to get it and then sign into your xbox accounts every once in awhile so I can compare scores. It's great.

Actually these next 5 or 6 weeks are supposed to be insane for awesome Arcade titles. Braid next week (puzzle/platformer thats getting TONS of hype for being totally good) Galaga Legions which is made by the PacMan CE guys, supposed to be better maybe than even Geometry Wars 2, Bionic Commando remake and some others I forget.

So the jerk canceled Angel because he was too busy working on his millionth rewrite of the Wonder Woman script, fine. I can forgive that (sort of, but not really) because he has a new offering on iTunes "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog"!

Joss + Musicals + Doogie Howser, MD = Success!

It is a good fix if you wish there were more episodes like "Once More With Feeling" from Buffy, and it is a good watch even if you never saw that episode.

$3.99 on iTunes for at LEAST 3 episodes, or that is how many have been released so far, the season pass gets you all of em!

It is funny, the songs are good in that Whedon sort of way, and totally worth $3.99!

I hope someone reads this quick! The local $3 dollar theater has the new Indy and Iron Man, and I haven't seen either one. Which movie shall I view today!? I need help with this decision gang, so please don't let me down!

EDIT: The theater that shows older new movies is the one next to the bowling alley by the Galleria! So I watched Indy then snuck into Iron Man which started a few minutes after Indy. Maybe 2 movies back to back is a bit much, but neither one really did it for me. Indy had some fun parts but was mostly heartless, and then Iron Man was just like every other fucking comic book movie I've seen. Robert Downey Jr was cool and all, but it was just kinda empty. Fuckin'-A.

Haven't seen the Futurama. But I think I'd rather watch that than this:

Ooof... So after several weeks of moving, audits, budgets and reforecasts, regular work, special projects and Aimey's new side business, I am about ready for a dirt nap. I have been sleeping like ass under all the shit running through my head. Oh yeah did I mention the drunk ass lickers that were fighting outside our apartment until 1am last night. Normally, I don't touch the caffeine sauce, but I have been hitting it pretty hard. So looking forward to normalcy...

Has anyone seen the new Futurama movie? I have seen some pretty bad reviews. Seems like the went from a rusty but passable first movie to a pretty weak barely entertaining second movie. Seems like the writers just do not have the right panache anymore. Boo...
