OK, so first the really good news, which is that FINALLY the contract bullshit has been worked out at my job and I have a big raise coming as of 9/1. In fact they gave me a buck an hour over what I asked for. So that's one major thing off my mind. Now I will be able to concentrate on my job instead of seething over the "man" and my oppression thereby.

Next up... the news on my Guitar Hero status that you've all been clamoring for. I'm really sorry I haven't updated this in a while but I've been pretty busy. Anyway, "Frankenstein" by Edgar Winter Group? This is music? Fuck that random assortment of tootling garbage. It's one of those songs that fucking blows, but is hard, so you have to play it over and over again anyway to beat it. Anyway with copious tactical use of Star Power I finally beat that shit last night. Sayo-fucking-nara assholes. Now the only two Hard level songs I have left are Cowboys From Hell and Bark at the Moon. I can get about 95% on both of them. Sometime before my birthday, I will enter the elite cadre of Very Hard players and my life will be at its high point!

Yes I agree with Jon about Descent. Great use of Darkness and Claustrophobia. I seriously was having a real issue at one point; Squirming in my chair just imagining myself in this character's shoes. Uggg. Also, I was none to happy to be visiting the restroom at 3am in the morning. A Little freaky.

Just got back from seeing The Descent with Enron and Eyeball. Scary, scary, claustrophobic movie. What I recommend you guys do is, see this movie.

On the trainride back home I kept scrutinizing the dark tunnels, looking for any sign of mutant activity.

jesus christ this guy giving the WoW ccg demo is the fucking singer from the cthulu video. oh my god. BUUUT - looks kinda cool. Still seems pretty standard CCG to me though, just lotta cool wow refrences "Im gonna bring out this pyroblast er... huh huh huh." Makes me KINDA wanna play wow again, but I tried a few months back and the fire was gone. :( But yeah, we'll see how this card version turns out!!!

Supernova!

I had forgotten about how sweet Supernova's Hair is. The drummer's is particularly awesome in that video. What a bunch of goofs. Great stuff.

Okay I think I agree with Jon. Yeah the people in that video are pretty lame, but not hate lame. Mostly just, "geez that's bad" lame. The way Rude Dog built it up I was seriously expecting something evil like 'Racist Faces' fuck fest or something.

Elzar, there are a couple of fine games I would be interested in purchizing from you. Perhaps a little trade for s3xual services performed? I figure I will give you the honor of playing my skin flute for each game I take off your hands. Rude, don't tell anyone though. I dont want Elzar to be arrested for soliciting services. He is too tender for jail time throat-nostril raping. Seriously, I will post a list later.

The WoW CCG was pretty popular @ GenCon Indy. I still am glad I have avoided the World of WarCrack. At least David only infrequently tries to tell me random WoW anecdotes anymore.

I haven't seen the demo, but I've seen some of the card art/assorted hype through the Penny Arcade site, etc. and I'm sure I'll at least pick up a starter. Perhaps at SoCal GenCon? Will it be out by then?

WoW CCG

I'm scared. I think I might have to buy into this game in a big way. I don't know why, but it sounds like there is some innovative gameplay options (Raids, etc.) and watching the demo, it seems simple and fun enough. The art looks good enough for Denis, so I might get him to bandwagon on. Actually, I NEED him to 'cause I have no other opponents!

Oh, I just saw that sometime this/next year Settlers of Catan/Alhambra/Carcassonne are gonna be released on Xbox Live for the 360. That's pretty sweet. I might pick one of those up when they drop the price. My Xbox has been making lots of weird noises and having trouble reading discs lately and I think it's gonna take a shit soon.

Here, is my boardgame collection on BGG. I have commented every game to some extent finally, but I know for a fact there are games I am leaving off, and after the Great Purge of 2006, there will be some I will remove.

After re-reading some of the posts I discovered that I shift between writing for different audiences. Sometimes I write like I am talking to one of you guys and use nicknames, other times it is all proper and lame sounding, like I am writing for my 7th grade English teacher. I think when I discovred that these comments could be viewed by anyone looking at a particular game, rather than a personal game collection, would see the comments, I think began to get confused as to what I was writing and why.
