Ahhh yes the Capri salad.
That cheese is fresh mozzarella. often the dish is served with balsmic vinegar, olive oil and fresh basil leaves. Good shi-ite. Definitely a appetizer and and not a dinner salad.
Sore throats are no longer cool.

Review: Goodfellas Restraunt on Melrose
Eric was out in my side of town and in desparate need of some grub, so I told him to meet me at Golden Apple and we'd walk down Melrose and find someplace to eat. Well, we went into "Goodfellas" which is an italian place with a "gangster" feel. I ordered something called a "capri salad" telling Eric "I need to eat more greens. What they brought me was a little plate with a tomato cut-up and some cream-cheese looking shit underneath. :\ That was my salad. D'oh!
Grade: S for Still hungry.

Tried it out- seems cool, although it'd be funner playing against someone!
Review: Gangs of New Yawk
Been watching Gangs of New York- eh, so far its alright- kinda cheesy, but still pretty interesting- I'm only half-way thru, but I think its safe to say its not one of Scorcese's best.
Finished it: was just "ok." Definately an interesting time: new york slums during the civil war and the draft riot. They touch on how there were competing fire depts. - so, when the different fire companys get to a fire they fight each other- cool. This movie just wasn't that great. I didn't have any problem with the acting, its just the story itself was pretty blah- eh. And then at the end there's a sweet 9/11 tribute- touching. Spike Lee's 25th Hour movie is full of images and refrences to 9/11, but it just doesn't feel as tacked on as in this flick. Whatever.
Final Grade: C
Jay Leno Grade: F for Jay Leno is the FUCKING worst.
Next movie I've "collected" is Chicago- hmmmm.

Oops! I didn't realize someone had already posted it- sry. Man, its only been 1 official day of being work-less and I'm feeling pretty worth-less. I went to work and got my last $800 bucks or so, did my taxes online- expecting somewhere around $400 bucks from that, and I signed up for the unemployment (they said it takes about 10 days to kick in or whatever- do i need to go to some office or something!?!?) Weird times.
But, been having some fun with the Battlefield1942 demo- think Halo crossed with every other WW2 game- well, but with sucky man v man combat. I honestly think Wolfenstein has the sweetest 1st-person ww2 engine going- all the others seem weird and clunky- BUT, man the vehicles in BF42 are SO cool- way cooler than Halos (or at least pretty equal.) The planes rock- real easy to figure out but still enough of a learning curve to keep the complete n00bs away- tanks and jeeps and boats are sweet too. The biggest problem with the game is that its SUPER system intensive- I mean, it takes SOOOOOOOO long to friggin load the one stupid demo map- INSANELY long. Once its loaded its cool - as long as the server you got into is good- if its not, you've got to wait forever to try the next one.
eh- what to do with myself...

All Time
Okay, now I'm calling the kettle black here by still talking politics, but this is the best quote I have EVAR heard from Bush:
"Leaders can't be bound by public opinion"
He goes on to say that acting on public opinion is like making security decisions "based on a focus group." Or like a court of your peers, right? So I guess despite what the people that "elect" our leaders say, leaders need to act on their own for the good of the people....
This is not okay.

Good Riddence...
Rude Dog, that sucks about the jobby job. But hey those jerkinines never gave you your props anyway. Fuckum' in the back now.
Elric... Canada Eh? What's that aboot? Shit is expensive there and tax sucks balls. Sales tax does not rule. Yet they do seem to have a better outlook on world politics. Speaking of world politics, I really suggest reading the "Body of Secrets" book. Pretty cool shit. NSA is pretty interesting organization. That little flash bit was pretty nasty little prediction. Fargin Bush Bastage. I say 'F' Florida.
I like sore throats! Rule!
I like green.

Sidenote
This is the best and most enjoyable reason for not going into Iraq.
Also, I think we could avoid the Iraq problem if we would never be involved with such shitty foreign policy. The US does not always need to be number one. It is not our job and duty to force our way of life on other countries that are completely of a different mindset, both religiously, politically, economically, etc. It is also a terrible idea to let corporate financial needs dictate what our government does politically and militarily, worldwide. To answer your question Johnny, I don't think we should have ever been in this situation in the first place. Ponder this: Who gave the Middle-East much of their weapons to fight the Soviets (when they were there), and are inturn, being used against us now?
I am seriously considering moving to Canada in the future. They have their internal problems, but their economy is no worse than ours and they are also not hated by the entire planet for being arrogant bullies who feel they have a right to run the planet.
Also, if the US doesn't steal all the hockey teams in Canada, I can watch hockey there too.
Okay seriously guys, quit spouting off about your political views... seriously.
I like Blood Bowl. And Jon's new game Scarab Lords. It was lots of fun! I want to play it again!

Good Luck Bro!
Suxors being laid off. It's not so much the job, or the money, it just feels like you put time into it and it's sorta gone. But definitely use the time to do the shit you want to do man! A co-worker and I were just talking about the things we can do and how being at the job isn't taking us anywhere. Probably a good time to think of other things.
Shit, chances are, If I get canned at the end of the month (which looks very feasible), I say we take off to Thailand! At least that will take away the monotony and headaches, till we get back! yeuH boy! Thai hoookers 20 dollas hollas!
gotta go, my boss is here to whip me.

...
Yeah, the jammy jam you me and ryry did is on my buddies harddrive, so once I get myself a drive I'll be able to snag it (and I got that protools shit at my house now.)
It's totally for the better, but being jobless all of the sudden is still supar-bumm0rz. Goddammit, I'd make the same amount of money working at friggin' in-n-out though- time to find a real job.
Yeah, my buddy is still gonna do that little manufacturing business, but until a few units are sold, there isn't going to be any money- so hopefully I can get something in the meantime- wish me luck! :) :\
Bonus:
Shit, thanks a lot Jon! I hadn't even thought of that-

Unemployment
That fuckin sucks Rude. Give the unemployment office a call, pronto. Make sure you do it soon because it takes about a week for benefits to kick in. The people you want to talk to are the Economic Development Department, and as long as you were laid-off (as opposed to terminated for shooting your boss or something), you're eligible. The good news is that since you didn't make much money, you probably won't be making much less on unemployment!
Anyway the number is (800) 300-5616. They'll want to know the address of your former employer and they'll ask you a few other questions, but nothing too big. You get benefits every other week along with a job search form to fill out (it's just a few checkboxes, nothing intrusive).
But I wouldn't be too bummed out. Yeah losing a job sux0rs, but you haven't seemed happy at that job for the last, oh, three years or so. This should be an opportunity for you to find something better.
Unemployment is OK, for a little while. I liked it for about two months, then started going crazy. You definitely get a chance to learn more about Tecate.
Oh, look, the dog just threw up on the floor.

Crap
Crap. Looks like it time to put the full-court press on your buddy and his garage recording bit. And of course, it sucks you got laid-off, but you weren't going anywhere in that company anyway. Time to start fresh somewhere else!
Did you manage to snake the recordings that we made and were still on the computer? Did you snake some exclusive duet tracks featuring Marilyn Manson and Britney Spears to sell on ebay?
Crap x2.
