Yay!-lo
That was one awesome game of Halo that we finished the evening up with. And everybody got a chance to play, too! Hooray! Next time we're all around we can always hook up me and Eric's Xboxes with Jon's Folly (provided we come up with more controllers somehow, I guess that's the limit.
Yayy friends!

Seranissima
I am just so bad at economic based games. Maybe that is why I always lose and in turn make sure that I try something off the wall at the beginning of the game, just to see if someway, somehow, I can deny the inevitable from happeneing, i.e. me losing. Seranissima again proved that I am again an economic loser. Bring on the tactics! Down with strategy, up with tactics! Blood Bowl for everyone!
By the way, if anyone cares, Mike last posted on October 1rst. What if he died and that Blog is the last thing he ever wrote.... I think I'll email him and find out.

I played through Metal Gear Solid 2 again. I don't know what's wrong with me or why I like to play games twice or why I can't get an erection. I just wanted to see how fast I could get through the game once I actually knew everything. I imagined that Eric, Aaron, Johnny, and even Rudy and Ryan and Mike were standing behind me chanting, "Go Jon, you have to defeat Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance one more time, for us, your pals. Then everything will be all right." So I skipped every cutscene and it felt soooo right. I clocked in at just under 6 hours. I rule!
Sorry Sarge but I need you around for these cutscenes man. It's so hard to grow up, so hard to struggle through. Every moment Solid Snake is telling me about the nature of digital technology I think "man this would be better if I were sitting on the blue couch in my apartment and Betty was walking on me with her shit-covered feet and Aaron was sitting by my side saying 'Yee-ha, Jester's dead!'"

"Your SUV Supports Terrorism"
Thought those of you that despise the occursed SUV would appriciate that piece of graffitti I saw while driving up to Hanta Barbara for (Non)Turkey-Day. I am into an X-Box fest sometime, we just need another X-Box and a TV and some controllers and we will be a go! We could also play some D&D, or some silly Jon Train game (which was a lot of quick fun), some Lord of the Rings, or just blow all our money on Great Lap Dances. I'll be ready to Rock and/or Roll on friday. Anyhoo, have a nice dinner with your family and friends everyone, and make sure you all remember to be thankful for smallpox, fire-water, boomsticks, genocide and slavery, cause without those things, none of us would be here!
Cheerio!

Jael: Stay off that leg! And, I ain't seen a Bond flick since this new guy took over.
Joneric: Uh. Yeah. Whats up? Heh. Cool.

Cutscenes rule
Didnt you know that the only reason that I watched Metal Gear Solid with you was for the cutscenes? I can not beleive you are going to hurt my feelings like that. After all those times you made me seargent for helping you with the boring parts just to get to the meat of the game. What an asshole!
/me sobs falling to the floor in a heap of sadness.
Okay I think I am over it. So did you run into Gaseous Snake this time? How about Plasma Snake?
Elricington: What is up with the action team website? Blogger has not been updating it. I suppose I should email you about it.
Rule, so my car still is not ready. I hope it will be done today. They are still waiting for a package from Honda. I can not believe it. They have had my car for 27 days now. Chopper suck ballz.
It is official. I am living with the worst roommate of my life. Arrrgggg what a fucking cunt. I asked her to turn down her music at 12:00 midnight because it was too damn loud and she said no and that when Aimey moved in that she knew that she was a late bird and then slammed the door in my face. I am so pissed it was all I could do not to go in her room, open the CD drawer to her CD player on her computer and bust kick the cd drawer off her computer. I was seething for about an hour after that listening to her music reverb in my room.
Ja -el: bummer to hear about the ankle. Joint injuries suck.
Fooball: Whats up? Go suck a lime you stupid prat!
Boris

Hey all! Three cheers to your review Aaron. It was quite beefy. Anyway, it looks like many of you Action Team members will be here for the weekend. Hooray! I'm going to be around as well. At first it looked like we would go down to Mexico for Thanksgiving, but it looks like those plans have been cancelled. I guess they might change back again, but the likelihood is that I'll be around. So, rock n' roll.
I finished Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance tonight. I am so proud, I guess. Basically it was even more of a chore than the previous one. The game took me about 3.5 hours longer to complete than MGS1 and I'm convinced that the added time was ALL cutscenes. Jeezus. The end of the game goes like this:
1. Fight some robots.
2. Cutscenes (20 minutes)
3. Press Y a bunch of times to escape torture.
4. Cutscenes (30 minutes)
5. Fight a guy with a sword.
6. Cutscenes (20 minutes)
7. FIN.
I HATE CUTSCENES!!! EVERY cutscene in every game is stupid. Bleah!
Wait. the Thief 1 cutscenes were really really good. But they were only like 2-3 minutes long. Yayy Thief!

OUCH
My body just doesn't take damage like they used to. I wonder if Dungeons and Dragons accounts for physical ailments when characters get old and they heal at a slower rate. Anyways, last night I was playing tennis and I guess I failed my savings throw. Landed on my right ankle in an awkward position that was unable to support the full 180 pounds of my weight. My ankle caved and there was some nice popping noises. The Doctor won't be available until tomorrow so I just went out and bought a pair of crutches until then. It's amazing how long it takes to see a doctor nowadays. Good doctors are just so swamped with patients that they hardly have time for more appointments. That's pretty sad. In the old days, when people went lame, I guess they just offed them. That's why there wasn't as many patients.
What are you all doing this weekend? My family is planning a vacation and of all the places to go, were going to LA. Having lived there for 12 years, I don't see how it can be called a vacation but that's the plans.
Review: Die another Day ------ B
Overdone and repetitive, James Bond movies have really digressed into two really primitive themes: Plenty of Sex and Plenty of Action. Gone are the days where there was actually some kind of theme and plot developement. Gun fights were followed by car fights, then followed by sex scenes and then more sword fights and gun fights. Just mind numbing action throughout the movie. Sometimes the action seemed so ludicrous that you lost track of why they were fighting in the first place.
But who can argue with success? Surely not the mass audiences who watches the bond films. Sex and fighting is what people wants to see. They want cheesy pickup lines, titty and ass shots, and rolling around in passionate and unquenchable sexual fantasies. Audiences crave well coreographed fighting scenes and random violence that lack a need for reason.
As for me, that is probably the last Bond film I'll watch till they change again. Hopefully they will go back to the days where special effects and digital graphics were not so emphasized and go back to when movies were actually made with loveable characters and a well developed plot.

Hey girls. How goes it? Well I am pretty damn sure I will make it up for Turkey day weekend, assuming my car is finished. It was supposed to be finished yesterday, but, they think tuesday at the latest now. Yee Ha. 26 days without a car. Its like the days of SD, only I can still get around town fairly painlessly. Man without a car in SD you were stranded.
Rule! I am getting sick. Sore throat, post nasal hell, and body fatigue. Chopper suck balls. Stupid Plague.
Atlas Shrugged, a premature review: Okay I am 1025 pages into a 1075 page book. It is the longest book I have ever read (In word count). The text is so damn dense. Small ass font, smaller line spacing. The story is cool in some ways and totally preposterous in others. Basically it is about a future period (No year is ever given, although one gets the idea that it is many decades, if not hundreds of years shot off from the 1950s) that takes place in the US. For years the global community of the world had been slowly crumbling at the hands of incompetent "humanitarian' politicians and public apathy. The whole process is a self defeating cycle of education and philosophical redevelopment that leads to less and less capable citizens and more idiotic politians. In some ways I can see hints of ideas gained from 1984.
The entire book takes place through the main character Dagny Taggert, a strong willed industrialist that represents all that is 'bad' in this society (I.e. ambition, logic, lack of compassion for your fellowman, self reliance, Passion, love of ones work). The book is full of moronic characters at the helm of a country and a few ultra pragmatic calulating business people that try and save society from itself and these politicans bent on driving self interest out of people. What is really freightening is Ayn Rand actually has a cult following of people that believe in her highly individualistic views, and the total FUD that is spoon fed to them throughout the book. Claiming that those that believe in charity and helping the fellow man are ultimately self-destructive to society, that one should live only for his/herself. In many ways I agree, but not to the disconnected almost cold view they take. These ideas seem likely to be fueled by fear seeded in Ayn Rands mind born of the politics of the time. The seed of the degradation of society, in the form of the 1950's hardline conservative anti-socialism political clime. The book was completed in 1957. Ripe for the influences of the red scare and republican anti-social progam governments. As if the New Deal was some sort of Evil idea that led to a loss of quality of life. Ironic. The whole book does have a some good poinst about strong indiviualism over group concerns. That the will of individuals is the best force, the only force, to drive the strength of world politics and economies. To a certain extent I can agree with some of the ideas, but uninhibited individualism often leads to corruption and unabashed explotation such as was very prevalent in the early industrial revolution period. Something completely ignored in the book while celebrating the industrialist. It is great in theory, but no one is as pragmatic and "fair" as the individualists in this book. People have too many flaws. Worst part about the book... Character monologues. So damn long! Often a charcter will be talking with a another, then go off on a 3-5 page monologue stating the same thing over and over just in different words. If I wanted that, I would ask my Father for a lecture. One Monologue is 60 fucking pages long. What did it say? Not a damn thing more than the collection of monologues that preceeded it in the pages before it. The book probably could have lost about 180 pages in unneceassry character speaches and still conveyed its point. Also, the weakness and sillyness of the antagonists in this book are so irksome and often beyond moronic. The ultra logical and calculating indiviualist is a bit rediculous too. I guess I would have made a lot of changes in this book. Then again that is probably why Ayn Rand was likely fairly wealthy before she died, and I am not. All in all it isnt that bad, but it probably is not worth it, too aggravating at times. I just do not understand how some people get so ga-ga over this book. I could think of quite a few books I would recommend instead. Grade:C
Rudy, I am an iRC brat. One of these days we should converse via iRC for old times sake. I tried several times to see if you were on line, but, you werent.

If youre on a PC, the easiest program to get is mIRC (Some dude named Mirco invented it! He was are best friend, rememebr!?)
On a Mac, get either IRCle or MIRKO'S BRAIN!!!1
Yeah- its pretty easy to figure out. Once you got a program installed, you pick a "SERVER" to connect to from a list- for us, its MAGICSTAR.NET, and then it gives a list of channels that all start with # . Type in #theactionteam and it will connect you to it and its like we're all in teh same wordl!
2001- still reading it. Fuckin' awesome! All the pre-Hal shit was really good- the Hal portions are eh- I wasn't too into HAL in the movie either- cool shit!
